Chapter 856 He's Your Son-in-Law
Sophia was taken aback, "No, I was just too anxious, too eager to comfort you."
Trevor looked at her with eyes devoid of warmth, "Sophia, did you ever really want my legs to heal?"
Sophia reached out to touch him, "Trevor, you're my husband. Of course, I want you to get better."
Trevor raised his hand and coldly brushed hers away, "I'm extremely tired right now. Can you be quiet for a while?"
Sophia's mouth hung open, her expression frozen. After a moment, she closed her mouth and quietly sat to the side.
Trevor's words, 'extremely tired,' left much to the imagination. What had just happened between him and that nurse in that special examination room?
Sophia felt a surge of anger, even though she knew she had no right to be upset or jealous—it was all part of her own plan.
The ride was silent until the car stopped at the hotel entrance.
Sophia moved closer to help push his wheelchair out of the car. Trevor didn't refuse, nor did he thank her as he usually did. He was silent and expressionless.
Sophia knew that what she had arranged today had thoroughly angered Trevor, so she didn't dare say anything more.
In fact, she felt a small sense of comfort because Trevor's anger meant he hadn't enjoyed the experience with the nurse at all.
For now, she would let Trevor vent his dissatisfaction. In a few days, she would try to make it up to him. After all, Clio had successfully obtained the semen. Next, she just needed to successfully conceive Trevor's child, and then Trevor's attitude towards her would surely change.
While secretly scheming, she pushed Trevor out of the elevator.
She wanted to take Trevor to greet Brent and pick up Julian, but Trevor refused to go into Brent's room. He coldly said he felt unwell and asked her to bring Julian out.
Considering that Trevor had 'suffered' today, Sophia didn't persuade him to go in and greet Brent. She nodded and went in alone.
When Sophia entered, Brent was sitting on the sofa, irritably smoking and talking on the phone, sounding very upset.
It wasn't until Brent hung up the phone that Sophia walked over to speak, "Dad, what's wrong? Haven't you found Nora and Linda yet?"
After being slapped by Brent yesterday, Sophia decided to soften up to Brent first. She would deal with Nora and Linda after securing the inheritance.
Brent turned to look at Sophia and didn't answer her question. Instead, he asked sarcastically, "You guys are back? Where's that cripple?"
Sophia didn't like hearing Brent refer to Trevor that way, "Dad, please don't call Trevor that! No matter what, he's your son-in-law!"
Brent replied sarcastically, "How did things go at the hospital? Is Trevor still able to perform in the bedroom?"
Sophia frowned, "The hospital staff are very professional, and everything is being taken care of! Dad, please, show some respect to Trevor!"
Brent glared, "Respect him? Did he respect me? He didn't even come in to greet me. Why should I respect him?"
Sophia knew she couldn't reason with Brent, so she sighed helplessly, "Forget it, Dad. You're upset, so I won't argue with you! Where's Julian? I'll take him back to be with Trevor. Trevor's not feeling great right now either."
Brent pointed disdainfully in a direction, "Get Julian out of here! He hasn't said a word since this morning. When I asked if he wanted to eat, he just stared at me and cried for his dad. It was driving me crazy, so I locked him in that room!"
Sophia couldn't help but complain, "Dad, how could you lock Julian in a room?"
Brent was indifferent, "What else could I do? He wouldn't eat or drink, just kept crying! It's already good that I didn't hit him. He's not even my real grandson!"
Sophia worried that Trevor might hear Brent's words from the door, so she signaled Brent with her eyes to lower his voice and not say such things.
"Dad, do you still want things to be okay between me and Trevor? I'm about to give you a real grandson. Please, don't make things harder for me!"
Brent was already overwhelmed with his own troubles and had no intention of making things harder for them. He waved his hand, "Fine! Just take Julian away. I'll keep quiet, okay?"
Sophia felt slightly relieved and walked over to unlock the door to the room. Inside, Julian had cried so much that his eyes were swollen and red. He sat on the floor, tired and uneasy, wiping his tears.
Julian was startled by the sound of the door opening. When he saw it was open, he quickly stood up and ran out!
Sophia reached out to stop him but couldn't catch him. Julian had already bolted, as if trying to escape.
Fortunately, Trevor was at the suite door and prevented Julian from running off.
Sophia turned back helplessly and said goodbye to Brent, "Dad, get some rest. Trevor and I will take Julian back to our room. Call me if you need anything!"
Brent, with a stern face, said, "Alright, go ahead."
Even though Sophia knew Brent was in a bad mood, she didn't have the energy to comfort him. She needed to go back to be with Trevor and Julian and explain to Trevor why Julian had been crying. Otherwise, Trevor's resentment towards her and Brent would only grow.
When she came out of Brent's suite, Sophia saw that Trevor and Julian had already walked far ahead, not waiting for her at all.
Feeling a bit disappointed, she still followed them silently.
"Trevor, Julian kept crying for us at my dad's place, which is why his eyes are so swollen."
Trevor responded indifferently, "We should thank your dad for taking the time to look after Julian."
Sophia sensed a hint of sarcasm in Trevor's tone, but she wasn't sure how to respond.
After returning to the suite, Trevor took Julian to his room and closed the door.
Closing the door meant shutting down communication.
Sophia knew this well but still walked over and knocked on the door, asking, "Trevor, I know you're upset, but you still need to eat. What would you like for lunch? I'll make it for you!"
Trevor's cold voice came from the room, "No need!"
Sophia tried to reason with him, "Even if you're not hungry, Julian needs to eat! He barely had any breakfast and cried for a long time. What if he gets sick from not eating?"
There was half a minute of silence before Trevor's emotionless voice responded, "Then go make something to eat. You don't need to ask me."
