Chapter 770 A Cup of Water
Teresa crossed her arms and said, "Alright, get into work mode! Otherwise, if Katherine sees you like this, she won't believe you're a professional psychologist!"
Valentin tilted his head slightly with a refined smile and looked at Katherine, who was sitting in the living room holding a child.
His discerning eyes briefly flashed with admiration as he walked over slowly and politely extended a hand, "Hello, Ms. Galatea. Teresa speaks highly of you."
Katherine put down Julian from her arms, then slowly stood up and lightly shook hands with Valentin, "Hello."
Valentin hadn't even felt the warmth of her hand before she withdrew it. Through this handshake, he already had a rough idea of Katherine's personality.
"Please have a seat, let's sit down and talk."
Katherine didn't consider herself a guest but rather a client, so she sat down without any extra politeness.
"What would you like to drink?" Valentin asked very elegantly and gentlemanly.
Katherine said, "A glass of water, please. Thank you."
Valentin nodded slightly and then looked very gently at Julian sitting next to Katherine, "And what about you, little one? What would you like to drink? We have plenty of options here!"
Julian didn't speak, feeling a bit uncomfortable with the man in the white coat. He thought the way Valentin looked at his mom was a bit too intense.
Katherine spoke for him, "Get him a Coke, please."
Valentin smiled, "Alright."
After agreeing, he instructed his housekeeper to prepare drinks for them, then looked at Katherine with some curiosity, "Usually, mothers prefer their children not to drink carbonated beverages. Ms. Galatea, you don't mind?"
Katherine said, "It's not something I encourage regularly, but a treat now and then is fine He's a bit nervous right now, and a Coke can help him relax."
Valentin nodded in understanding.
Teresa, a bit annoyed, crossed her arms and sat down, "Dr. Valentin, I'm your regular customer. Why don't you ask me what I want to drink?"
Valentin looked at Teresa, "Precisely because you're a regular, I don't need to be so formal. Whatever you want to drink, just grab it from the fridge like you always do."
Teresa pretended to be displeased, "You're going to lose me as a regular customer if you keep this up!"
Valentin chuckled, "Alright, let's not joke around. Didn't you say you were bringing a friend for a consultation? Is it this Ms. Galatea?"
Teresa nodded, "Yes!"
Valentin, now in work mode, looked a bit more serious, "Ms. Galatea, what issue would you like to consult me about?"
Katherine patted Julian on the shoulder, "It's not me, it's my son."
Valentin paused and then turned to look at Teresa, a hint of puzzlement in his eyes.
This wasn't what was discussed beforehand. He usually didn't take on child psychology cases.
Teresa, understanding why Katherine brought Julian, shrugged helplessly, "What's the matter? Child psychology issues are often related to parents. Can't we consult both mother and child together? Dr. Valentin, you're a professional; this shouldn't be a problem for you, right?"
Valentin raised an eyebrow and pursed his lips, "Of course, that's perfectly fine."
He turned back and professionally examined Julian, "Teresa, take him to the dining room for his Coke first. I'll talk to Ms. Galatea alone about the child's situation."
Teresa was happy to cooperate, got up, and led Julian away, but Julian was reluctant. It took Katherine a while to comfort him before he agreed to go with Teresa to the dining room.
Watching Teresa lead the child away, Valentin looked back at Katherine, "Ms. Galatea, do you think your son has a psychological issue that needs our intervention?"
Katherine lowered her eyes and recounted the changes in the kid's personality, "Last weekend, Fiona and I took him and his siblings on an outing. During the trip, he saw a kite he liked and ran after it. When I realized he was missing, I found him immediately but scolded him out of worry. Since that day, he's become very quiet and timid, as if he feels unfamiliar and uneasy at home. I'm worried that my anxiety that day caused him some psychological trauma."
Valentin listened thoughtfully, stroking his chin. "Usually, a child wouldn't develop psychological issues just from being scolded for running off. There might be other reasons. I need to talk to him alone. Is that okay with you, Ms. Galatea?"
Since she was here, she certainly wanted to find out the reason for Julian's sudden change in personality.
Katherine nodded, "Of course! But I hope the conversation won't be too long; the child has been quite sensitive lately."
Valentin smiled reassuringly, "Don't worry, I'm a professional."
With that, Valentin got up and walked elegantly to the dining room to find Teresa, ready to take over so he could interact with the baby himself.
Teresa returned from the dining room and sat next to Katherine, "Katherine, what do you think of my friend?"
Katherine couldn't make a conclusion yet. Her eyes were fixed on the dining room, watching Julian initially look very guarded at Valentin. Then, she noticed something had changed. She couldn't hear what Valentin said, but Julian started to relax and soon was sitting there, talking to him obediently.
"Katherine, look, George is talking so well with Dr. Valentin! You should also have a good chat with him too; it's very effective!" Teresa added.
Katherine raised an eyebrow and glanced at her, "Me? What do I need to talk about?"
Teresa blinked her big eyes, "Of course, talk about your feelings! You can treat Dr. Dobbins like a sounding board. Whatever unhappiness or frustration you have, tell him and vent it out! Every time I talk to him, I feel so much better afterward! Katherine, you should try it too."
Katherine pulled a corner of her mouth, "I don't have any emotions to vent."
Teresa pouted, "I don't believe you! Katherine, you're definitely bottling up a lot of emotions about Alex with no one to talk to. If you keep it inside for too long, it's bound to make you sick! Talk to Dr. Valentin and let him help you with some psychological counseling. You'll feel much better!"
Katherine laughed, "The only effective way for me to vent my emotions is directly at Alex; nothing else works. So, is this why you insisted on introducing a psychologist friend to me?"
