Chapter 193 Who Is Laura?
The nurse, her face a bloody mess, was still stabbing Sunny, one knife after another, endlessly.
Theodore finally shook off her reverie and returned to her senses, realizing the severity of the situation. "What... what are you doing? Stop it!"
Hearing this, the nurse paused, raised her bloody face to look at Theodore, and said with a sinister smile, "Huh? Didn't you just tell the receptionist that we shouldn't touch the five of you but should specifically target this person? You even said it would be best to scare him to death! Isn't this all your request?"
Ella and the other two girls were so enraged by the nurse's words that fear vanished, replaced by a burning fury. They looked at Theodore in disbelief and questioned.
One girl scolded, "Theodore, how can you be so despicable!"
Another girl questioned, "Exactly! How could you do this!"
Ella said with tears, "Sunny died because of you!"
Theodore was both embarrassed and anxious from the girls' accusations and glared at the nurse. "What nonsense are you talking about? I told you to scare him, not kill him!"
The nurse, like a lifeless mechanical doll, tilted her head. "Oops! Misunderstood. But it's too late now!"
Theodore, furious, rushed over and shook the fallen Sunny. "Hey! Sunny! Sunny, wake up!"
Sunny didn't wake up, and Theodore saw his hands covered in bright red blood, his face turning pale with panic!
Theodore shouted, "You! You murderer!"
He angrily lunged at the nurse, tearing off the bloody mask from her face, wanting to see what the murderer looked like!
However, when the mask was torn off, he saw a pale face without eyes or a nose, just a small smiling cherry mouth.
Theodore's hair stood on end, and he backed away in terror, yelling, "Gh-ghost!!!"
The nurse approached him with a creepy smile and asked, "Handsome, who are you calling a ghost?"
Theodore's legs were so weak he couldn't stand. "You... don't come any closer! We have no grudge against each other; don't come any closer!"
The nurse coldly smiled, raised the knife in her hand, and looked down at Theodore. "Didn't you just blame me for killing that guy? Then you can go down and accompany him! That's only fair!"
Saying this, she was about to stab down.
They shouted, "Theodore!"
The four followers wanted to help but were blocked by several other NPC nurses, who surrounded them and pushed them into a corner.
They were all so scared they froze!
"Help! There's a real ghost among the NPCs!"
"Save us! The NPCs are killing people!"
"Is anyone there? We don't want to play anymore. We want out!"
In the closed room, apart from the cries of the three girls, there was no other response.
Seeing the nurse's knife about to come down, Theodore's eyes filled with fear, and tears streamed down his face. "Mom! Mom, save me!"
Suddenly, someone laughed, "Hahahahahahahaha."
The nurse's knife didn't come down but was skillfully played with her hand.
Theodore came to his senses, and looked at the nurse in shock. The laughter died down, and then, as if by magic, he saw Sunny sitting up not far away. He'd somehow come back to life, and was now laughing heartily, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Theodore, stop calling for your mom. She won't come to save you today!"
Theodore was stunned and asked, "Sunny, you're... you're not dead?"
Seeing Sunny awake, Ella was overjoyed, wiped her tears, and ran over to hug him tightly. "Sunny, it's so good you're okay! You freaked me out just now."
Sunny, with no emotion, coldly pushed Ella away and stood up, crossing his arms and arrogantly lifting his chin at Theodore. "Of coure, I'm not dead, coward!"
Theodore and his four followers were dumbfounded. What was going on?
Sunny was fine, so what was with the nurse's knife? She clearly stabbed him so many times!
They looked at the nurse with the knife again, only to see her gently lift her hand and remove another 'faceless mask,' revealing Katherine's face!
Katherine, with a calm expression, pressed the tip of the knife with her finger, and the blade retracted into the handle, spraying fake blood.
After the demonstration, she casually tossed the fake knife aside, bored!
So... it was a prop?!
Theodore suddenly realized, his face turning blue with anger. "You tricked me!"
The three girls, however, breathed a sigh of relief. "So it was Sunny's sister pranking us. What a false alarm!"
Afraid Theodore would get angry and hurt someone, Sunny stepped forward and protected Katherine behind him before saying, "Theodore, you said I'd be scared as hell? Turns out you were the one calling for your mom!"
Theodore gritted his teeth and stood up. "Sunny, you and your sister dared to team up to trick me!"
Sunny righteously replied, "Theodore, you're the one who started this! You bribed the NPCs to go after us, thinking you could buy your way through the game. If you can't handle the challenge, then don't play!"
"I... I did pay double, but these NPCs didn't fully cooperate with me! So it doesn't count!" Theodore, feeling embarrassed, started to argue, pointing at Katherine and the other NPCs.
Sunny frowned with disdain. "Theodore, I just realized you're not only despicable but also shameless!"
"You!" Theodore, at a loss for words, gritted his teeth.
Before the game started, Katherine had gone to the bathroom in the escape room club's lobby. She happened to overhear Theodore bribing the receptionist to manipulate the NPCs, which she found very unethical.
So, after they all went in, she offered the receptionist triple the price to let her join as an NPC.
Anything that could be bought with money was usually unreliable. Because as long as someone offered a higher price, those people would immediately switch sides.
And when Sunny was looking for clues, he received a text from Katherine using Alex's number.
Although Sunny didn't understand at first, when the nurse's first stab didn't hurt, he realized and played along.
After leaving the escape room club, Theodore, still unwilling to give up, quickly caught up with Sunny and blocked him. "Sunny, you were impressive in the escape room! If you have the guts, compete with me in something else!"
Sunny, uninterested, sneered, "Who would compete with a cheater like you? Move! Get out of my way!"
Theodore, however, didn't give up. "There's a pool nearby. Everything underwater is transparent. I can't cheat in a physical competition. Do you dare to compete?"
"Not interested!" Sunny answered.
Theodore sneered, "You can't swim, can you?"
Having just triumphantly entered the escape room, Sunny was feeling great and didn't fall for his provocation.
Sunny replied, "No race! Whether I can swim or not is none of your business!"
With that, Sunny walked away with Katherine!
Theodore, however, still didn't give up. "Sunny, stop right there!"
Katherine raised an eyebrow, looked back at the relentless Theodore, then at Sunny, who was pulling her away, and seemed to sense something, asking with interest, "Why does he keep wanting to compete with you? Does he like you and want to get your attention?"
This almost made Sunny sick on the spot. "Are you kidding! That guy likes that girl, but she keeps bothering me, so he has nothing better to do than pick on me!"
Katherine looked back again, and sure enough, Theodore was calling Sunny while watching Ella's reaction. The girl named Ella was following them, her eyes fixed on Sunny.
A typical love triangle drama!
So that's it. Theodore wanted to impress Ella by making Sunny, his rival, look bad, but it backfired!
And now he probably wanted to redeem himself in front of his crush by competing with Sunny again!
"Hey! Sunny! Hey!" Unable to get Sunny to stop, Theodore changed tactics and shouted at Katherine, "Hey, Laura! Stop right there!"
At this moment, on the mall's escalator, the mall manager was nodding and bowing as he escorted the president of the Mitchell Group, Bernard, downstairs.
He said, "Mr. Mitchell, rest assured, the Mitchell Group's brand event in our mall will be flawlessly executed to your satisfaction!"
Bernard nodded lightly. "I hope so."
Theodore called out, "Laura! I told you to stop. Did you hear me? Laura!"
Laura Mitchell!
Bernard's cold and noble eyes snapped to the direction of the voice, a flicker of surprise momentarily breaking his stoic facade.
Billy also heard the name, looked over in shock, and saw Sunny being chased by Theodore and his classmates.
Billy stated, "Mr. Mitchell, it seems to be Sunny and his classmates!"
Bernard furrowed his brows, got off the escalator, and walked over quickly.
Seeing Bernard suddenly appear, Sunny tensed up. "Bro? What are you doing here?"
Bernard ignored him, his cold and suppressed gaze sweeping over each of Sunny's classmates, especially lingering on the three girls.
Bernard asked, "Which one of you is called Laura?"
