Chapter 822 She is Not From Our Room
George hesitated. "But I still want to go up and take a look myself."
Linda raised a finger and waved it in front of him, "No way! You have two choices: either I go upstairs and check for you, or we both go back and no one goes upstairs."
George had no choice but to compromise, "Alright! You go then!"
Linda grinned, "Trust me, I've got this!"
Trevor's eyes were fixed on the restroom, so much so that he barely acknowledged Sophia serving him food. It wasn't until he saw George come out of the restroom and obediently return to the table that he relaxed.
With George back, Trevor felt at ease, but Nora was puzzled, "Julian, why did you come back alone? Where's Linda?"
George replied, "Auntie Linda said she suddenly had a stomachache and needed to poop, so she told me to come back alone."
Nora felt a bit helpless and thought, 'Everyone is eating, and mentioning 'poop' really kills the appetite. Julian is so young; this must be Sophia's fault for not teaching him table manners. Why doesn't she teach him another word or come up with a different reason?'
"Let's not wait for Linda! Let's all enjoy our meal first. She doesn't eat much anyway, just a few bites and she's full! Come on, Sophia, eat more meat, you've lost weight recently!"
Nora smiled and changed the subject.
Meanwhile, Linda had already sneaked up to the second floor of the restaurant.
The private rooms on the second floor were almost all full, and she had to check each one.
The hallway was filled with waiters waiting for guests' orders. If she was found acting suspiciously, she would be sent back downstairs immediately.
Linda thought carefully and quickly came up with an idea.
Instead of being labeled as suspicious if discovered, she decided to take the initiative and ask for help, making it legitimate!
So, she put on a helpless and anxious expression and approached a waiter, tugging at his sleeve.
"Sir, I can't find my mom!"
The waiter looked down and saw a little girl, asking without suspicion, "What's wrong? Don't be afraid, tell me, which room are you from?"
Linda's big, watery eyes looked like she was about to cry as she shook her head. "I don't remember. I went to the restroom and couldn't find my way back."
The waiter was a bit surprised, "Each room has its own restroom. Why did you go outside to use the restroom? Does your mom know you came out?"
Linda was momentarily stunned; she hadn't expected the rooms to have their own restrooms.
But she quickly came up with a reasonable explanation, "The restroom in our room was occupied, and I couldn't hold it, so I came out alone! Sir, can you help me find my mom?"
Seeing Linda's tear-filled eyes, the waiter couldn't help but feel sympathetic, "Of course! Don't cry, I'll take you to each room to find your mom!"
Linda was secretly pleased but didn't dare to show it, nodding obediently, "Thank you, sir."
The waiter took her hand and started searching from the first room at the east end.
He knocked on the door, and when someone inside allowed them in, he led Linda in to ask if she was anyone's daughter.
Linda took this time to carefully look at everyone's faces in the room, checking if there was a woman who looked like George.
After checking seven or eight rooms without finding a woman who looked like George's mom, Linda began to think George might have imagined hearing his mom because he missed her so much!
The waiter was also a bit frustrated, "Do you remember which side the window was on in your mom's room?"
If he knew whether her mom's room faced south or north, he could knock on fewer doors and disturb fewer guests.
Not every guest was patient; some would be annoyed if he entered not to serve food but to look for someone, and he feared complaints.
Linda shook her head, "I don't remember."
The waiter sighed, "Alright! Let's keep knocking on doors then!"
He knocked on another door, and this time, instead of a response, someone came to open the door.
And it was a boy.
The waiter politely asked, "Dear, is this young lady with you? Do you know her?"
The boy who opened the door was stunned.
It was none other than the real Julian.
Julian had just finished using the private restroom in the room and came out when he heard a knock on the door. He opened it and saw Linda!
Linda was also stunned, first in surprise, then in joy!
She had found him!
If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she wouldn't have believed such a coincidence!
If Julian wasn't wearing different clothes from George downstairs, she might have thought it was George sneaking upstairs!
Seeing the two kids staring at each other, the waiter was confused. Did they know each other or not?
"Excuse me, do you know this young lady?"
The waiter waved his hand in front of Julian.
Julian snapped out of it and looked up at the waiter but still didn't speak, not knowing what to say.
Without an answer, the waiter assumed the boy was too young to talk to strangers and turned to ask Linda, "Miss, do you know him? Is he with you?"
Linda snapped out of it and nodded, "Yes, he is!"
The waiter was delighted; he had finally found them and didn't have to knock on another door.
However, his joy was short-lived as an adult came over to check the situation, "What's going on, George? Who are you talking to?"
The person who came over was Sunny.
Julian didn't answer Sunny's question, still in a daze, not knowing how Linda found him or if she was going to take him back to his dad.
The waiter politely smiled and explained, "Sir, this little girl got lost, and I brought her back!"
A little girl got lost?
Sunny instinctively thought of Edith, but Edith was inside eating quietly and hadn't gone out!
He looked at Linda standing next to the waiter, "There must be a mistake! This child isn't from our room!"
