Chapter 862 She Doesn't Like That

The maid responsible for watching George and Edith was also quite helpless.

"Mrs. Melville, Mr. George Melville and Ms. Edith Melville started fighting over toys, and we couldn't stop them."

"As soon as we approached, they both threw tantrums."

Katherine pinched the bridge of her nose. She had been so busy lately that she hadn't properly disciplined George and Edith, and their tempers were getting worse!

"Enough! Are you two going to keep this up all day?"

Hearing Katherine's anger, George and Edith stayed silent, not daring to utter a word.

Katherine pulled George and Edith over, gave them a good talking-to, and then punished them by banning snacks for a month!

When George and Edith heard they couldn't have snacks, they showed a look of grievance.

Katherine didn't soften. She took out the Alphabet worksheets from kindergarten and told them to practice writing. She would check on them later!

Having made a mistake and been punished by Katherine, George and Edith, though unhappy, didn't dare disobey and obediently went to practice their writing.

After disciplining the two little ones, Katherine came out of the room and asked the maid for the two packs of snacks she was going to give to Charles.

The maid happened to be looking for her, "Mrs. Katherine Melville, Mrs. Sandra Melville sent someone to ask you to go to her room. It seems she has something to discuss with you."

Katherine was a bit worried that Sandra might have found out something. She asked the maid, "Where's Charles? Have you found Charles?"

The maid replied, "Yes, he is napping in his nursery! He's fine, Mrs. Melville, you don't need to worry. You should go see Mrs. Sandra Melville first!"

Katherine nodded in relief, "Alright, then take the two packs of snacks to Charles for me later."

"Yes, Mrs. Melville."

Having arranged things with the maid, Katherine turned and walked towards Sandra's room.

Watching Katherine walk away, the maid took the two packs of snacks Katherine had given her and prepared to take them to the nursery for Charles.

At that moment, another maid came from the direction of the nursery. Knowing she was going to see Charles, she advised, "Mr. Charles Melville is sleeping! Don't disturb him now; take the snacks later. Let's go clean the stairs first. If Mr. Jackie Melville wakes up from his nap and sees dust in the house, he'll be upset!"

The maid thought her colleague made sense, so she put the two packs of snacks on a cabinet with a vase and went to clean the stairs.

The two maids went to clean, and the maids responsible for George and Edith came out to get them some water. They noticed the two packs of snacks on the cabinet and remembered that Katherine had just punished George and Edith by banning snacks for a month. They quickly took the snacks and hid them!

She didn't want George and Edith to see them and cause trouble again.

Sophia finished making lunch and wanted to call Brent to join them and taste her cooking, but Brent's subordinate told her that Brent had gone out for the afternoon.

She asked what it was about, but Brent's subordinate was tight-lipped and didn't tell her. However, Sophia had already guessed what it was!

If it were work-related, Brent's subordinate wouldn't need to hide it from her. So, besides work, Brent could only be looking for Nora and Linda.

'Father doesn't even know what he's doing. He's completely infatuated with that woman, Nora! With his status, he could have any woman he wants. Even young girls in their late teens would be lining up for him! I just don't understand why he insists on being with that older woman.'

Sophia was annoyed, but it wasn't her place to control Brent's actions now. So, she went back to call Trevor and Julian for lunch.

After a day and a night of searching, they finally found out where Nora and Linda were staying. Brent rushed over immediately!

He found the place where Nora and Linda were staying and rang the doorbell.

After a while, footsteps could be heard from inside, "Coming, coming!"

It was Linda's voice.

Linda thought it was the delivery she had ordered. She ran quickly and opened the door, only to see her stern father Brent!

Linda was stunned for a second and then closed the door again!

Before Brent could call out, he was shut out, making his face even darker. He took a deep breath to suppress his anger and rang the doorbell again.

This time, no one came to open the door!

Seeing Brent's face growing more tense, his subordinate felt uneasy, "Mr. Coleman, should we just kick the door open?"

Brent, with a stern face, waved his hand, "No. She hates that. You guys stay out of it and wait outside."

"Yes!" The subordinate nodded and retreated.

Brent sighed and continued ringing the doorbell. He didn't believe they would ignore him forever.

Twenty minutes passed, and nothing changed.

Brent's patience was running thin.

Inside the house, Nora was sitting on the couch watching TV, feeling very annoyed by the constant doorbell ringing.

Linda glanced at the door and then at Nora, "Mom, why don't you let Dad in and clear things up? He's getting more and more impatient with the doorbell. He might break down your friend's door if he gets too anxious! You know how Dad's temper is!"

Linda's suggestion made Nora frown. She knew Brent's bad temper well; he really might break down the door if he got too anxious.

Nora thought for a moment and then gestured to Linda to open the door and let him in.

Linda understood Nora's signal and ran to open the door.

Linda opened the door just as the delivery arrived!

However, the delivery guy looked a bit scared, seeing Brent at the door, afraid of getting caught in the crossfire.

When Brent saw Linda open the door, his stern face forced a smile, "Linda, I knew you would open the door for me, unlike your cold-hearted mother!"

But Linda just rolled her eyes at him, politely took the delivery from the delivery guy, and ignored Brent as she turned back inside.

Brent's smile disappeared instantly, but since Linda didn't close the door, he took the opportunity to follow her in.

Linda took the delivery to the couch and opened it to share with Nora.

Brent walked in, looked around the room, and then at the food Nora and Linda were eating, frowning in disdain. "You brought Linda to live in this tiny place? Eating this junk food? I thought you'd be living better after leaving me!"

Brent's words were infuriating, and Nora, no longer her usual gentle self, glared at him coldly.
