Chapter 191 Is Katherine Your Sister?
Sunny crossed his arms, looking confident as he snorted, "Even if you like Alex, it won't matter. You two won't last! Katherine, you better listen to me and back off voluntarily, or else, when you get dumped later, you will..."
Just as he was speaking, the bus pulled over at the stop.
Katherine stood up, walked past Sunny without acknowledging him, and got off the bus.
Sunny snapped out of it, feeling annoyed, and hurried after her. "Katherine, did you hear what I just said? Katherine!"
Katherine ignored Sunny's nagging and walked into a coffee shop. Sunny followed her in, continuing his chatter.
After a while, Katherine came out sipping a cup of coffee and cheerfully headed into the mall to shop.
Sunny trailed behind her, still talking about the topic he hadn't finished. He was determined to convince Katherine to give Alex back to Scarlet!
Katherine ignored Sunny, sipping her bubble tea while shopping. She went from the first floor to the top, buying some odds and ends.
Sunny kept following her, panting and exhausted, his back aching. "Hey... wait for me... Katherine... you girls act so delicate in gym class, but you can shop non-stop! I'm exhausted!"
Katherine, not even slightly out of breath, glanced at him coolly. "If you're exhausted, stop following me!"
Sunny was still persistent and stated, "What's wrong with me following you? It's not safe for a girl to wander around alone. I'm protecting you for free, and you don't even appreciate it?"
Katherine looked at him as if hearing a joke, eyeing him up and down. "You? Protect me?"
Sunny felt underestimated, raised his arm, and rolled up his sleeve to show off his bicep. "What's wrong with that? I'm jacked!"
Katherine pursed her lips and smiled, saying nothing.
Sunny felt even more underestimated by Katherine just as he was about to show her how manly he really was.
"Sunny!!!"
Suddenly, several girls' voices called out his name in unison.
Sunny was stunned and turned to look. He saw three girls standing at the entrance of an escape room club, looking at him. They seemed surprised and delighted to see him.
The girl in the middle, wearing a long dress with her hair down, was the first to walk over, her eyes full of undisguised admiration. "Sunny, it's really you! We thought we were mistaken!"
Sunny looked at the three girls with disinterest. "Hello!"
He knew they were classmates, but he wasn't familiar with them. He couldn't even remember their names, just that their faces were familiar.
After greeting Sunny, the long-haired girl's gaze lingered on Katherine, who stood nearby sipping her bubble tea, a hint of wariness in her eyes. "Sunny, is this girl... your girlfriend?"
Katherine remained silent.
Sunny glanced at Katherine beside him, his expression complicated.
Although he planned to pursue Katherine after turning eighteen and make her fall hopelessly in love with him so his sister Scarlett could take Mrs. Melville's place, he hadn't taken any action yet, and Katherine wasn't his girlfriend.
So he honestly said, "No!"
The long-haired girl visibly relaxed after hearing the negative answer, and her wary look towards Katherine softened.
She examined Katherine's appearance closely, then looked at Sunny, seemingly comparing them, and smiled. "Sunny, is she your sister or something? She looks a bit like you!"
Sunny immediately frowned in disdain. "Are you blind? She looks nothing like me."
The girl, suddenly insulted, looked embarrassed, her eyes turning red.
Sunny didn't feel anything was wrong.
Katherine thought that Sunny was good-looking but an idiot. Even if he didn't like someone, he shouldn't talk to a girl like that!
Seeing the long-haired girl almost in tears, Katherine felt a bit sympathetic and stepped forward to comfort her. "Don't mind him. He's just being rude. It's not your fault. He's annoyed with me, not you."
The long-haired girl paused, holding back her tears, and looked at Katherine with amazement and curiosity. "Hi, are you Sunny's sister?"
Katherine thought, this girl obviously has a crush on Sunny. If she said no, it would definitely lead to a misunderstanding about their relationship.
"Sort of," answered she.
With Katherine's comfort, the long-haired girl let go of her embarrassment and smiled at Katherine. "My name is Ella Woods. I'm Sunny's classmate. Sorry, I wasn't sure about your identity just now... because you look like our age. I wasn't sure if you were his sister or not, so I didn't dare to address you."
Katherine didn't mind and shook her head. "It's okay. Are you guys here for shopping too?"
Ella nodded and replied, "Yeah, we finished shopping and wanted to try the escape room, but we got scared and ran out."
Katherine nudged Sunny with her elbow. "Hey, it's your chance to show some chivalry. Why don't you team up with your classmates and play the escape room, be their knight in shining armor?"
Sunny frowned in disgust. He hated hanging out with girls, especially the ones at school. They were clingy and full of girlish fantasies.
"No way! It's boring!" He snorted.
"You're just scared, aren't you?"
The voice that replied wasn't from Katherine, nor from the three girls, but a boy stood nearby.
Everyone turned to look.
Sunny immediately frowned, showing hostility.
The girls were surprised and almost said in unison, "It's Theodore!"
Katherine recognized him, too. He was one of the boys who had ganged up on Sunny at Moonlight Manor last time.
Theodore, with a few of his followers, swaggered over, his eyes filled with arrogant disdain. "Sunny, I didn't expect you to be such a wimp still! Your grades suck, and now you don't even dare to play an escape room?"
Sunny glared and then snapped, "Theodore, who are you calling a wimp still? I'm just not interested in lame offline games!"
Theodore sneered, "Who knows if you're not interested or just too scared!"
The boys around him laughed, full of contempt.
Sunny, still young and hot-headed, couldn't resist the provocation. He gritted his teeth and said, "Fine, let's play! I'm not backing down"
Ella, hearing that Sunny was willing to play, immediately became happy and politely invited Katherine. "Why don't you join us too? We can team up with Sunny!"
Katherine was about to decline.
"Who is this?" Theodore suddenly glared at Katherine and asked. He recognized her as the girl who had stood up for Sunny at Moonlight Manor last time, so he didn't like her!
Ella said, "This is Sunny's sister!"
Hearing this, Theodore immediately sneered and said, "Sunny, I know Scarlett. This girl isn't your sister. What's the deal? You two hooked up?"
Theodore's disrespectful words made Sunny furious, and he blurted out, "Scarlett is my second sister. She's my older sister, Laura! So what? Got a problem?"
Katherine was speechless.
Theodore was taken aback and reassessed Katherine. "I did hear you had an older sister named Laura who went missing when she was young. When did you find her? How come I haven't heard about this recently?"
