Chapter 929 Don't Talk About Him Like That!
Sophia was so desperate that she pushed Alex, who never hit women, to the point of kicking her!
Everything was out of control, everything was irreparable!
She had lost everything and couldn't let them be together happily!

While Alex was checking Katherine for injuries, Sophia suddenly pulled out a bottle from her pocket, filled with an unknown liquid. She angrily unscrewed the cap and hurled it at Katherine.
Alex noticed too late to dodge, so he wrapped Katherine in his arms and rolled down the stairs with her!
The liquid Sophia threw splashed on the ground, bubbling with terrifying white foam.
Missing the first time, she rushed down the stairs with the remaining half bottle and threw it at both of them!
Suddenly, the door to the stairwell was kicked open, and the police rushed in and apprehended Sophia just in time!
"Don't move! Stay still! Hand over what you're holding! You're under arrest!"
After the close call, Alex quietly got up and revealed Katherine, who was tightly protected in his arms, "How are you? Are you okay?"
Katherine was also in a cold sweat. She had anticipated that Sophia would target her but didn't expect her to dare to take out something like acid in a public place!
Fortunately, she had already called the police before coming in!
Sophia, who was being restrained by the police, was still hysterically cursing at them and was forcibly taken away to avoid disturbing the hospital order.
A police officer walked over to Alex and Katherine, "You two need to come to the station to make a statement."
Alex had just helped the still-shaken Katherine up and was gently brushing the dust off her, "It's not convenient now, she's scared. Leave a contact, and I'll bring her over after she rests."
The officer nodded and handed them a business card, "Contact me within three days."
Alex took it and nodded.
After the officer left, Alex gently patted Katherine's back and wiped the sweat from her forehead, "It's over now."
Katherine still smelled the pungent acid. She inadvertently looked at Alex's arm and saw that his sleeve had been splashed with acid, corroding several holes. It was obvious that he must have been injured!
She immediately dragged Alex to the emergency room!
Alex, helpless, said it was nothing but had to follow her running forward.
In the emergency room, the doctor specially cleaned the wound on Alex's arm and applied medicine. Only then did Katherine breathe a sigh of relief!
Poor Alex, his leg had just healed, and now his arm was injured. Such burns were very painful.
Looking at the wound on Alex's arm, Katherine's tears fell down.
Alex's clothes were stained with acid and couldn't be worn anymore. The doctor gave him a hospital gown to make do. While buttoning up, Alex suddenly felt water droplets on the back of his hand.
He looked up and saw Katherine's usually strong face, now tearful and heart-wrenching.
Alex's heart seemed to break. He didn't even finish buttoning up and got up to hold her face and wipe her tears, "Why are you crying? I'm fine, it doesn't hurt! Silly girl, don't cry. If your mom sees I made you cry, what will she think of me?"
Katherine's tears flowed uncontrollably, and she choked, "You say it doesn't hurt, but how could such an injury not hurt?"
Alex hugged her, "It does hurt a bit, but with you by my side, I'm in a good mood, so it doesn't hurt!"
Katherine said, gently holding his injured arm, "You always say nice things! From now on, you have to listen to me and come for dressing changes and medication on time!"
Alex obediently agreed, "Okay, I'll listen to you! Don't cry, leave a good impression on your mom for me, okay?"
Katherine wiped her tears with her arm and complained, "Leaving a good impression? When you suddenly said you had to leave, weren't you afraid of leaving a bad impression on my mom?"
Alex pinched her little nose, "Isn't that your fault?"
Katherine frowned, "My fault? What did I do? Don't be unreasonable, it was your problem, I didn't ask you to leave suddenly!"
"Who told you not to tell me in advance that we were meeting your mom? I went out to make a call to buy some gifts to save my image."
So that was what happened.
Katherine blinked, her tear-filled eyes looking particularly cute, "Where are the gifts then?"
Alex sighed, "I was stopped by Sophia and didn't have time to get them! Let's go, we'll get them together now."
Katherine nodded obediently, letting Alex hold her hand as they went to get the gifts for Claire.
Alex's subordinate had already brought the gifts to the hospital entrance and was waiting because he couldn't reach Alex.
Seeing Alex and Katherine come down from the elevator, he quickly and respectfully handed over the gifts.
At this moment, Katherine's phone rang. Seeing it was Bernard calling, she stepped aside to answer.
"Katherine, where are you?" Bernard's tone sounded anxious.
Katherine said, "You should know where I am if you're calling now, right?"
Just after Sophia's failed attack, Bernard called, indicating he had heard something.
Katherine wasn't surprised and didn't suspect Bernard of having her watched.
Because if Bernard had really had her watched, his people would have rushed in to subdue Sophia before the danger happened!
The only possibility was that Bernard had friends in the police who notified him immediately after seeing her name on the report.
Being exposed by Katherine, Bernard didn't bother to hide, "Are you okay? Can I come see you now?"
Katherine said, "I'm fine! Not hurt, you don't need to come!"
Bernard was a bit frustrated and angry, "Isn't Alex back? Wasn't he with you? How could he not protect you? What's the point of having him around!"
Katherine didn't like hearing that, "You can't talk about him like that! You're no use to me either!"
