Chapter 332 RH Negative Blood

Sunny snapped back to reality and said, "Uh... we just bumped into each other at the airport, chatted a bit, and then went our separate ways. When I woke up, she was here at the hospital checking on me."

Bernard's eyes narrowed. "She came to the hospital on her own? You didn't call her?"

Sunny shook his head. "No, I was out cold. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't have called her."

"Then how did Katherine know you were hurt and in the hospital?"

"She said the hospital and the transit authority checked the surveillance footage. They us talking at the airport, assumed we were friends, and called her."

Bernard frowned. "The hospital and the transit authority?"

Sunny nodded. "Yeah!"

Bernard was speechless. Only this naive kid would buy Katherine's story!

Katherine's visit to Kryptonix City was highly suspicious.

Bernard squinted, then pulled out his phone and made a call. "Billy, find out why Katherine came to Kryptonix City today and where she's been."

After hanging up, Bernard looked at Sunny sternly. "Don't forget Katherine bullied Scarlett. Stay away from her. Be careful, or she'll betray you, and you'll still be doing her dirty work!"

Sunny frowned. "Katherine wouldn't do that! She's not the bad person you think she is. I know her! She's really nice, and she promised me she wouldn't compete with Scarlett for Alex anymore!"

Bernard's eyes showed a hint of sarcasm. "She promised you? A verbal promise?"

"Yeah, a verbal promise."

"Sunny, if you had any sense, you'd know a verbal promise is worthless!"

Sunny lowered his head, mumbling, "Anyway, I trust her."

Bernard's brow furrowed, and he let out a cold snort, disappointed.

Meanwhile, Katherine got off the elevator on the first floor and walked past the emergency department, hurrying to leave the hospital and head back to the hotel to check if Lion had left.

But she slowed down when she heard a little girl crying her heart out.

Instinctively, she looked towards the sound and saw a five or six-year-old girl stumbling and chasing after someone, tears streaming down her face, crying, "Mommy! Mommy!"

Maybe it was her own experience of losing her mother young, or maybe it was the maternal instinct of an expectant mother, but she was worried about the little girl. How could such a young child be crying alone? There didn't seem to be any adults around to take care of her.

So, Katherine followed her to the emergency area to see what was going on.

She saw the little girl chasing after a hospital bed, being quickly pushed by a group of medical staff. The bed was covered in blood.

A nurse who had come back with the ambulance was reporting to the emergency doctor.

"Severe car accident. The patient is losing a lot of blood and needs an emergency transfusion!"

"Test the patient's blood immediately and notify the blood bank to prepare the right blood type!"

As the medical staff spoke, the bed was rushed into the emergency room, and the door was closed.

"Mommy! I want my mommy! Mommy, don't leave me!"

The little girl, with her small arms and legs, couldn't keep up and reached the door just as it closed. She anxiously pounded on the emergency room door, looking both scared and desperate.

Soon, a nurse came out, frowning, and pulled the little girl away from the door. "Sweetie, listen to me. Don't make a fuss. The doctors are trying to save your mommy in there!"

The child, already terrified by the accident, couldn't listen to anyone and cried even louder, shaking her head vigorously. "I want my mommy! I want to find my mommy! I want to go in and find my mommy!"

The nurse, at her wit's end, tried to comfort her. "Your mommy is being treated. She'll come out soon. Kids aren't allowed in the emergency room! Be a good girl and wait here quietly. If you keep making noise, it could interfere with your mommy's treatment!"

The little girl just kept crying. "Mommy! I want my mommy!"

Unable to reason with the child, the nurse was getting frustrated and didn't know how to calm her down.

"Excuse me, what's going on here?" Katherine walked over and asked.

The nurse looked up at her and sighed helplessly. "There was a major traffic accident on Sunshine Avenue. This little girl's mother was seriously injured while protecting her. It doesn't look good for her"

Upon hearing this, Katherine's face showed a hint of heaviness. "I'll take care of the child. You go back to your work."

The nurse was relieved. "Thank you so much! This child has been banging on the door, disrupting the doctors' communication inside. I didn't know what to do!"

Katherine said calmly, "No need to thank me. I was just visiting a patient. I can stay with the child for a while."

"Thank you!" The nurse smiled gratefully and quickly turned back into the emergency room.

"I want my mommy! I want to find my mommy!"

Seeing the nurse go back in, the little girl got agitated again and tried to follow her in.

Katherine gently held her with her arm, squatted down to her eye level, and patiently put a finger to her lips. "Shh—no loud noises! Your mommy will come out soon. I'll wait here with you, okay?"

The little girl was stunned, tears still streaming down her face. "My mommy... my mommy is bleeding... so much blood."

"That's why the doctors and nurses are working hard to save her! But if you keep crying out here, your mommy will hear and worry! You don't want to make her worry, do you?"

"But I'm scared, scared that mommy won't wake up."

Katherine gently patted the little girl's head, trying to soothe her. "Don't be scared! Your mommy loves you so much. She wouldn't leave you alone."

The little girl calmed down and nodded. "Mommy said she would never leave Linda."

So the child's name was Linda.

Katherine smiled. "Yes, Linda, be a good girl and wait quietly for your mommy to come out, okay?"

"Okay!"

The little girl stopped crying but still clutched her hands nervously.

At that moment, a nurse rushed into the emergency room and reported, "We've got a problem. The blood bank is running low. We don't have the right blood type for the patient!"

A doctor, sweating profusely, came out, took off his mask, and took a deep breath. "How can the hospital be out of blood at a time like this? Contact nearby hospitals and get some!"

The nurse followed him out, looking worried. "We've contacted them all. None of the nearby hospitals have the right blood type!"

The doctor's brow furrowed. "What do we do? The patient is in critical condition and needs a lot of blood!"

Hearing this, the little girl waiting for her mommy at the door anxiously rolled up her sleeve, showing her small arm, and stepped forward. "Take my blood. My blood is the same as my mommy's! I want to save my mommy!"

The doctor looked down at the small child, feeling both heartbroken and sorry, but he had to say, "Sweetie, we can't use blood from family members."

Katherine stepped forward and calmly asked, "What blood type is her mother?"

A nearby nurse replied, "RH negative blood!"

"I'm RH negative. Take mine."

The doctor was surprised and looked her over. "May I ask, what is your relationship with the patient inside?"
