Chapter 119 Katherine Has Many Crushes
Katherine shrugged nonchalantly and stated, "I don't mind. I can also tell you about my love story!"
Alex's eyes darkened. "What love story? I remember Ms. Galatea said herself that she has always been single?"
Katherine nodded candidly. "Yes, I haven't dated anyone, but that doesn't mean I don't have a lot of crushes!"
Alex's face was visibly displeased, his lips curling into a grim smile. "Really? Then let's talk about it, Ms. Galatea. I'm all ears."
Since Katherine wasn't looking at the man's face, she didn't notice his change in expression.
She began to list the names of domestic and international male celebrities she had liked as if she were reciting a treasured collection.
To Alex, who didn't follow the entertainment industry, each vibrant male name sounded like someone Katherine had actually interacted with in her life!
Katherine, looking like a fan, reminisced. "When I was eighteen, I liked a man named Aron Smith. I loved listening to him sing, and I even fantasized about marrying him one day..."
"Shut up!" Alex's face was stern as he suddenly interrupted her coldly.
Katherine was startled, and even the brown bear nearby shivered in fright.
She turned her head, puzzled, and looked at the man. "Alex, why are you yelling? Didn't you ask me to talk?"
Alex's jaw tightened, and he gave her a cold glance without saying a word. He then walked over, grabbed the unfortunate brown bear, and strode into the cave.
The brown bear was thrown into a corner of the cave, trembling in fear.
Katherine followed the man inside.
The cave was dimly lit. Although their phones had no signal, they could use the flashlight to illuminate it.
Alex sat down near the entrance, one leg stretched out naturally, the other bent casually, with his arm resting on his bent knee. He took out a lighter and lit a cigarette, exuding a lazy wildness.
But Alex remained silent, smoking with a dark expression.
Katherine felt baffled. They were having a good conversation, so why was Alex angry again?
She had never seen someone so moody!
Since he wasn't talking, she decided not to speak either. They could ignore each other!
Feeling a bit down, Katherine sat down, found a comfortable position against the cave wall, and silently waited for rescue.
Eventually, Katherine fell asleep against the cave wall.
When she woke up, it was already dusk outside. Although she was wrapped in Alex's jacket, she still felt a chill to her bones.
At that moment, Alex was sitting lazily beside her, eyes closed, seemingly asleep as well.
Katherine felt a bit thirsty and wanted to find some water. She got up quietly, not waking the man, and left the cave alone.
Although the valley was damp, she couldn't find any streams or rivers. It seemed finding clean water here wouldn't be easy.
Just then, Katherine spotted a tree. Her eyes lit up as if she had discovered a treasure and walked over.
Upon reaching the tree, she confirmed it was indeed the type she thought!
This tree was called a water tree. Cutting open its trunk would release clean sap naturally filtered by the plant and could be used as emergency drinking water in the wild.
Katherine quickly found a sharp-edged stone on the ground and cut a small piece of the water tree's trunk. Soon, clean sap began to flow out.
Katherine first washed her hands and then cupped her hands to drink the water. After several handfuls, she finally quenched her thirst.
Refreshing!
She was about to head back but thought for a moment and decided to bring some water back for Alex. Although Alex was quite moody, he came down today to find her, and sometimes, he could be nice.
But she had no container to hold the water.
Katherine looked around and found some large reed leaves in the grass. She skillfully folded the leaves into a makeshift cup.
The leaf cup leaked a bit, but as long as she walked quickly, Alex would still get a decent amount of water!
With a full cup of water, Katherine hurried back to the cave.
Inside the cave, Alex was still in the same position, eyes closed, not awake.
Katherine brought him the water, squatted down, and gently patted his shoulder. "Alex, wake up, have some water!"
Alex didn't wake up.
Katherine patted him harder and called out, "Alex? Wake up!"
He still didn't wake up.
Katherine frowned, realizing something was wrong!
From what she knew of him, Alex was extremely vigilant and had excellent detection skills. He was not someone who would sleep so soundly, especially not in the wild!
That left only one possibility: Alex was unconscious!
But why would he suddenly pass out?
Oh no, could it be because the snake that bit her was venomous?!
Alex had sucked out the venom for her but hadn't rinsed his mouth.
Thinking of this, Katherine's heart tightened. She quickly put the leaf cup aside and shook Alex's shoulders with both hands, calling out, "Alex! Alex? Wake up! Alex..."
However, no matter how much she called, Alex wouldn't wake up!
Katherine started to feel uneasy. She was worried something might happen to him!
A person could go without food for a short time, but not without water!
Humans needed hydration especially when in a bad state. And if Alex was unconscious because of snake venom, he needed to drink more water to flush out the toxins!
With this in mind, Katherine picked up the cup and tried to feed him water, but it just spilled out of Alex's mouth, wasting a lot!
This wouldn't do!
Katherine hesitated for a few seconds, took a deep breath, made up her mind, and then took a big sip from the cup. She cupped Alex's handsome face, ready to use the most primitive method to feed him water.
Saving a life was more important than worrying about gender differences!
At that moment, the man furrowed his brow and suddenly opened his eyes just as Katherine's lips were about to touch his.
Seeing Katherine's face so close, the man's eyes froze, and he stared at her sharply.
When Alex suddenly woke up, Katherine stiffened, then swallowed the water in her mouth with a gulp. She quickly backed away from him and sighed in relief, saying, " Alex, since you're awake, get up and drink some water yourself! Here!"
She handed him the half cup of water left in the leaf cup.
Drink water?
Glancing at the water Katherine handed him, Alex squinted, realizing what Katherine had been about to do when she cupped his face and puffed her cheeks.
Without saying a word, Alex closed his eyes again.
Seeing this, Katherine was puzzled. "Alex?"
What was going on? Why did he pass out again?!
