Chapter 744 Katherine is Mommy
Watching as Julian was taken away by someone else, Trevor snapped back to reality and shouted sternly, "Stop!"
The woman carrying Julian seemed not to hear him and walked straight out without looking back.
Trevor, with limited mobility, immediately turned his wheelchair to give chase for Julian. Just then, he heard the sound of another stall door opening and a voice calling out, "Daddy."
Trevor paused and turned around abruptly, his pupils dilating in shock.
What... what was going on?
George poked his head out from the stall, relieved to see that Katherine had left and the crisis was averted, and called out to Trevor.
But who did his mommy just mistake for him and take away?
Trevor looked at the child who looked exactly like Julian, then turned to look at the child the woman had taken away, who also looked exactly like Julian. He narrowed his eyes.
Katherine, carrying Julian out of the restroom, bumped into a breathless Billy who had been searching for her.
Billy had been ordered by Bernard to protect Katherine, but by the time he chased after her, she had already disappeared. He had searched several times before finally finding her!
Even better, Katherine had found George, so he could finally relax!
Otherwise, he really wouldn't know how to explain it to Bernard and Katherine!
"Ms. Galatea, where did you find George?" Billy asked.
Katherine tilted her head and gestured with her chin towards the men's restroom, "In there!"
Billy was stunned, "What? He was in the restroom? That can't be right, Charles and I checked every stall, and he wasn't there at the time!"
Katherine glanced at Julian in her arms, "Who knows, maybe he wandered around and came back to the restroom! I'll deal with him properly when we get back! Let's go find Bernard first!"
With that, she quickly walked back with Julian in her arms, feeling relieved now that she had found the kid. She was more concerned about how far the auction had progressed and whether the bidding for that piece of land had started.
Billy acknowledged and followed closely behind.
Back in the private room, Bernard saw Katherine carrying George back and his tense expression relaxed. "It's good that you found him. Where did this kid run off to?"
Katherine replied, "He was hiding in the men's restroom!"
Bernard frowned slightly, "You went into the men's restroom to find him?"
Katherine put Julian down and shrugged, "What else could I do?"
Bernard looked at Katherine, feeling a surge of concern.
In his mind, Katherine was a sacred, untouchable angel. How could she step into a place like the men's restroom?
Did she see anything dirty that might have polluted her eyes?
Thinking of this, Bernard angrily looked at Billy, "Didn't I tell you to follow her? Why did you let her go in alone? What were you doing?"
Billy lowered his head in shame, "I'm sorry, Mr. Mitchell. I failed in my duty! Ms. Galatea moved too quickly, and I couldn't keep up. I only found them later."
Bernard said sternly, "What's the point of having you around?"
Katherine looked at Billy sympathetically and intervened, "Alright, Billy, you can go out now."
Billy bowed gratefully, "Yes, Ms. Galatea."
Bernard didn't pursue the matter with Billy further. He raised his hand and beckoned to Julian, "Come here!"
Julian, feeling a bit sad after being scolded by Katherine, hesitated at first but felt an inexplicable sense of closeness to Bernard and wasn't afraid. He obediently walked over.
Bernard picked him up and asked gently, "What's wrong? Did your mommy scold you?"
Julian pouted in grievance and nodded.
Bernard gently patted his head, "She scolded you because you ran off alone and made her very worried. Do you understand? You can't run off alone again and make her worry, okay?"
Katherine looked at Julian disapprovingly, "Does he want another chance? If he runs off alone again, I don't want him anymore! He can run wherever he wants, and I won't care!"
Hearing Katherine say this, Julian felt a pang of sadness. He didn't run off on purpose; he just saw Trevor and wanted to see if Trevor was worried about not finding him.
But then he remembered that he would eventually leave Katherine and return to Trevor and Sophia, never to see Katherine again.
Thinking of this made him extremely sad!
Tears welled up in his eyes, and he couldn't help but cry.
Seeing Julian cry, Bernard felt a deep ache in his heart. He reached out to wipe his tears and comforted, "Don't cry, your mommy was just speaking out of anger! How could she not want you? She was just really upset by your behavior today! Just don't do it again, okay?"
Julian wasn't crying because he was afraid Katherine wouldn't want him; he was crying because he knew he wasn't Katherine's son and would have to leave eventually.
Not only would he leave Katherine, but he would never see her again in his life!
Because this time, he and Trevor were here to accompany Sophia for some business. Once her business was done, they would go back to Markovia with her and never return!
This meant he would never see Katherine again in his life, never feel that warm, fragrant embrace again.
He would have to go back to face Sophia, who always smelled of perfume. He didn't like Sophia, and Trevor didn't like her either.
Supposedly, Sophia was his mommy, but he never felt that way. He didn't feel any desire to be close to her.
But when he saw Katherine, he couldn't explain why he always wanted her to hold him. It was the same feeling of closeness he felt when he saw Dad.
Could Katherine actually be his mommy?
But his daddy had never met Katherine, so how could they have had him?
That was impossible, just his wishful thinking, right?
Seeing Julian's tears streaming down his face, Katherine's heart naturally softened. "Alright, stop crying now. Boys shouldn't cry so much. Come here, you've got your tears and snot all over Bernards clothes!"
Julian felt embarrassed, looking at the snot on Bernard's suit.
Bernard smiled indulgently, "It's okay, I don't mind."
