Chapter 110 Alex's Love Was Stronger Than Gold

Sophie's words were meant to make Alex take a stand.

Hilton and the others also looked at Alex, wondering how he would handle the conflict between his wife and his friend.

Alex showed no emotion as he spoke in a deep voice, "Hmm, I know you wouldn't falsely accuse someone for no reason."

The meaning was clear that Alex was siding with Sophie.

Hearing Alex's words, Katherine felt a chill in her heart. She quietly lowered her eyes and pulled her lips into a sarcastic smile.

There wasn't a single person here on her side. It wasn't surprising that no one believed her.

But during the time she and Alex worked together, they went through quite a lot, even spending a night together.

At this moment, the man she had risked her life to save didn't even think twice before siding with someone else. It was hard not to feel disheartened.

Trust, after all, was the last thing to build in this world!

Everyone present looked at Katherine with their thoughts, questioning and sighing.

Sophie, on the other hand, felt secretly pleased, a gleam of triumph in her eyes. However, she didn't forget to put on a look of being wronged. "Alex, it's good that you believe me. Otherwise, I would have been wronged today, unable to explain myself."

Teresa couldn't stand it anymore and stepped forward. "Alex, if you don't believe Katherine, I do!"

Then, she firmly looked at Sophie. "Sophie, everything needs evidence! When you handed the boots to Katherine to try on, I was there too, but I didn't see Katherine put any earrings in your boots! All I saw was that Katherine felt the boots didn't fit and immediately took them off and returned them to you!"

Sophie wasn't surprised that Teresa stood up for Katherine. She sighed helplessly and said earnestly, "Teresa, you're too naive! If someone intends to do something bad, they would avoid others' eyes! And you saw it, too. Only Katherine touched my shoes. There was nothing wrong when she tried them on, but I got pricked as soon as I wore them. No one else handled them in between. Isn't the answer obvious?"

Teresa snorted. "That still doesn't prove that Katherine put the earrings in your boots there. Katherine didn't even wear earrings today! If you put it that way, I might think you put them there on purpose yourself!"

Sophie flickered her eyes uncertainly and paused, feeling wronged. "Teresa, how can you say that about me? Why would I put nails in my shoes to hurt myself?"

Teresa rolled her eyes and retorted, "Who knows what your intentions are? Last time your watch went missing, you and Sunny also falsely accused Katherine without any evidence!"

Sunny, standing nearby, frowned. He wanted to retort but hesitated and didn't speak.

Teresa’s words choked Sophie. Since Teresa was Alex's niece, Sophie didn't want to offend her.

So she didn't argue with Teresa any further, turning to Alex with a look of grievance and resignation, sighing, "Alex, forget it. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this with Katherine. I just want justice! Have Katherine apologize to me, and this matter will be over. I don't want it to affect our friendship."

Teresa, hands on her hips, protested. "Why should she apologize to you? Katherine didn't even."

Before she could finish her angry words, a heavy hand fell on her shoulder. Alex pushed her aside, not allowing her to interfere any further.

Alex took a step forward, his eyes coldly fixed on Sophie, saying, "You want justice? Then who will clear my wife's name?"

Sophie was stunned and asked, "Alex, what are you saying? Are you doubting me?"

"I'm not doubting," Alex was indifferent, exuding authority without anger. "I'm certain my wife wouldn't do such a thing."

Katherine was shocked, blinking her bright eyes as she looked at Alex.

‘Does Alex believe her?’ she thought.

Sophie frowned, genuinely confused, and then continued, "Alex, didn't you just say you believed I wouldn't falsely accuse her for no reason? What changed now?"

Alex's expression remained unchanged. "I do believe you wouldn't falsely accuse her for no reason. So please tell me, what reason made you frame my wife like this?"

So his earlier words weren't siding with her, but meant this! Moreover, the words "frame my wife" essentially meant Alex had already judged her guilty!

Sophie panicked and started to play the emotional card. "Alex, we've known each other for so many years. I thought you knew me? How can you doubt me like this?"

Alex remained unmoved. "Time isn't the ultimate test of everything. Katherine and I may not have known each other for long, but we trust each other enough not to doubt one another because of others’ instigation."

Sophie was taken aback, her eyes reddening with unease. "Alex! What instigation? You can't think of me like this. We've been friends for so many years."

A trace of impatience flashed in Alex's eyes. "Sophie, if you can't provide a reason, then stop slandering my wife. Otherwise, I don't mind seeing you in court."

After saying the last sentence, Alex turned around calmly and asked Katherine in a low voice, "Are you hungry?"

Katherine snapped out of her daze and nodded. "Hmm, a little."

"Then let's go, we'll have breakfast outside," he added.

In front of everyone, Alex naturally took her hand and led her out of the dressing room.

Teresa followed with a smile, complaining. "Alex, you almost pissed me off just now! You didn't make yourself clear, and I thought you didn't trust Katherine!"

Alex gave her a cold glance and retorted, "Do you think I'm some jerk?"

Teresa chuckled. "No, no! I was too hasty just now! Your love with Katherine is stronger than gold. How could you not trust each other over such trivia!"

Katherine felt a bit awkward, pulling a wry smile.

As Alex and Katherine left, Hilton and the others also prepared to go. They were just spectators, not taking sides.

However, watching Alex lead Katherine away, Sophie turned red in her eyes with anger.

For that country girl Katherine, Alex had just threatened her.

Now that Alex was already suspicious of her, she absolutely couldn't let Katherine get away unscathed!

Unwilling to give up, Sophie gritted her teeth, thought for a moment, and then called out, "Wait! Alex!"

Alex stopped, slightly turning his head. "Do you have something else to say?"

Sophie, looking aggrieved and indignant, said, "Alex, if you just take Katherine away like this, it will make everyone think I framed her on purpose, making it hard for me to live with myself. I don't want to carry such a burden!"

"Then what do you want?" he snorted.

"Since you trust Katherine so much, and Katherine insists she didn't do it, then please have her prove that the earring that pricked me isn't hers!" Sophie stated.
