Chapter 833 No Longer Want to Aid the Villain

Sophia furrowed her brows, "Nora, what are you talking about? When did I ever say I hate you and Linda? Is that really what you think of me?"

"You always say you treat me like your own daughter because of Dad! Is this how you treat me as your own daughter? Would you speculate about Linda like this?"

"I was just kindly suggesting that you should help Linda manage her temper while she's still young, so it doesn't become a problem later! Does that mean I hate you? If I really hated you, I wouldn't be sitting here having dinner with you, and Dad wouldn't be making me either!"

Nora watched as Sophia started to cry, frowning in silence. Although she knew Sophia was pretending, saying anything more would make her seem too aggressive, especially since she was older and considered an elder.

Linda, however, had no such reservations. She had seen Sophia bully Nora into silence time and again, and she wasn't going to tolerate it anymore!

Crying? She didn't like to cry, but it didn't mean she couldn't!

Linda also started to cry, "Sophia, my mom didn't say anything that bad, and now you're crying! I'm the one who should be crying. You just said my mom didn't raise me well, that I have a bad temper and bad habits! I'm the one who feels wronged!"

Sophia saw that Linda's crying was louder than hers and suddenly stopped crying.

She glared at Linda secretly, then looked tearfully at Brent, who was sitting nearby with an unpleasant expression.

"Dad, you saw it all. My good intentions were misunderstood by Nora and Linda."

Brent frowned at Sophia, sighed, and then sternly looked at Linda. "Enough! Stop crying. This is a restaurant; you're disturbing everyone!"

Linda was stunned by Brent's reprimand and then started crying even louder.

Brent, irritated, said, "You really are something."

"What's wrong with Linda?" Nora interrupted Brent's words sternly, a stark contrast to her usual gentle demeanor, "Cole, do you really need to speak to Linda that way?"

Brent was taken aback, rarely seeing Nora so angry, and puzzled. "Why are you getting mad at me? I just said a couple of words to Linda! Can't I even say anything? I think Linda is indeed spoiled by you, becoming more and more disobedient!"

"That's nonsense!" Nora retorted.

Brent's eyes widened, thinking he must have misheard, "What did you just say to me? Nora, what has gotten into you today?"

Nora was truly angry, "It's not just today! I must have been out of my mind from the beginning to have married you!"

Brent's face darkened, "Enough! Stop making a scene here!"

Nora sneered, "Who's making a scene, me and Linda or Sophia? It was Sophia who started crying! When she cries, you feel sorry for her, but when Linda cries, you think she's noisy and scold her in front of everyone!

"If anyone's making a scene, it's Sophia. Do I need to list all the things she's done? Both are your daughters, but the difference in treatment is really huge!"

Brent couldn't understand, "How am I treating them differently? Don't I care about Linda? You heard it just now, Linda was crying so loudly, wasn't she disturbing other guests?"

Nora glared at him, "Why was she crying so loudly? Because she feels hurt! Don't think that just because Linda is young, she doesn't understand anything. Kids know who gets more love from their parents!"

"You feel guilty towards Sophia, so you take extra care of her, even giving all the property to Sophia, I don't mind! Because when I married you, it wasn't for your money, and my daughter Linda doesn't care about your money either! But we care about your attitude!"

"You decided to let Sophia inherit all your property, only symbolically asking for my opinion, and never asking Linda. Linda is not stupid, she knows that in your heart, Sophia is the most important! We don't care about money, but we hope you can give us more love, but what about you? You're so biased that you don't even realize it, do you?"

"Do you think that as long as I'm not angry, you'll always think Linda is just a child and ignore her feelings, right?"

Hearing Nora's accusations, Brent was speechless for a moment. After a long silence, he said, "I did ask for your opinion, and you said you didn't care about those things, so I decided to give all the property to Sophia. Don't worry, I will make sure there's enough money for our retirement and Linda's education. Then we can finally live the pastoral life you've always dreamed of. Isn't that what you wanted?"

Nora laughed, "That's it? And you still claim you're not biased?"

Not wanting to argue with Nora in public, Brent waved his hand dismissively. "Enough! Stop talking, we're in public, let's discuss this at home!"

Nora coldly said, "I won't go back with you! This is not the life I want anymore! Cole, I want a divorce!"

Brent's pupils dilated, looking at her in disbelief, "What did you say? Divorce?"

Nora, with a calm and clear expression, said, "Yes! Divorce! I'm done being fooled by your sweet talk, and I can't stand my daughter feeling unimportant in this family! You can live happily with Sophia!"

Brent, displeased, patted the table, "Nora, have you had enough? Just because I've been good to you doesn't mean I can tolerate this nonsense! Divorce? What do you have to divorce me with? If you leave me, you'll get nothing! Think about it, at your age, without youth, without a job, who else would want you? Who else would treat you as well as I do? Get real!"

Nora sarcastically curled her lips, "So in your eyes, I've always been so worthless!"

Brent snapped, "Enough! Sit down and eat, I'll pretend you didn't say anything just now!"

Nora wasn't throwing a tantrum; she was genuinely fed up with Brent's constant indulgence of Sophia. Thinking about the couple that Sophia had broken up and Brent's different attitudes towards the two daughters, she felt she had had enough of living with Brent!

She was serious about the divorce and didn't want to be an accomplice anymore!
