Chapter 612 Got a Boyfriend
Ambrosia jabbed him. "Hey, grown-ups are talking here! Kids should zip it! Anyway, I'm gonna hit the shower. After that, I'll take you home. If you're late, Bernard might smack you again!"
Sunny got all riled up and pushed back. "Who's a kid? Ambrosia, you’re ditching me. We just hooked up, and now I'm a kid to you?"
Ambrosia felt a tickle from Sunny's push and shot him a fake annoyed look. "If you don't behave, no fun for you tomorrow!"
Sunny's tone softened right away. "So, who you picking up tomorrow? A dude or a chick? I know you gotta deal with guys for work, but I still hate it. If you gotta go, I'm coming with you!"
Ambrosia sighed. "A chick! I'm picking up Katherine."
Sunny was taken aback. "Katherine? You finally found her?"
"Yep."
"Then I'm coming too! Haven't seen her in ages!"
Ambrosia lifted Sunny's chin. "Aren't you supposed to be in school tomorrow?"
Sunny shrugged. "I can skip a day."
Ambrosia laughed. "Think it through. If Bernard finds out you ditched school again, it'll be even harder to sneak out and see me."
Sunny thought for a moment. "It should be cool. If I tell Bernard I'm picking up Katherine, he'll be all for it. He's been searching for her everywhere."
Ambrosia's face darkened. "No, you can't tell Bernard yet."
"Why not? He’s been looking for her. He’ll be stoked if we find her!"
"Not without Katherine's approval. You can't tell anyone!"
"Alright, I won't tell Bernard!"
"Get up. I need to shower."
Sunny, still acting like a brat, pressed against her. "Ambrosia, you tired?"
Ambrosia's body tensed up. "Not now, gotta get up early tomorrow!"
Sunny, like a puppy denied by its owner, reluctantly snuggled up to Ambrosia. "Fine, next time then!"
'He is so full of energy!' Ambrosia smirked and pushed him. "Move it. Shower time!"
Sunny finally moved aside.
The next morning, Frank and Ambrosia showed up early at Jonathan's villa in the burbs.
Katherine hadn't slept much and had her bags packed, waiting in the living room.
Seeing strangers, the servants got all jumpy and were about to call Jonathan.
Before they could, Jonathan walked in. He looked surprised seeing Frank and Ambrosia helping Katherine with her bags, then at Katherine, who was ready to leave. "Katherine, you leaving? Where to?"
Katherine nodded. "Yeah, I'm heading back. Jonathan, I left your phone in the drawer in your room and turned it off. Check for missed calls. Thanks for looking after me."
With that, she walked out with Frank and Ambrosia.
Jonathan couldn't handle her leaving just like that and blocked her path, looking all conflicted. "Everything was fine yesterday, why are you leaving today?"
Katherine sighed. "Alex found out I'm here. If I stick around, it'll just cause you a ton of headaches. Better if I head back home."
Jonathan was taken aback, then gave her a deep look. "Katherine, you think I'm scared of a little trouble? If I was, I wouldn't have helped you in the first place."
Katherine replied, "I know you're not scared, but now that he's found me, there's no point in hiding out here. It's easier to plan from home."
Jonathan was quiet for a few seconds, then nodded. "Alright, we'll keep in touch after you go back."
Katherine responded, "Okay."
Watching Katherine get into Frank's car, Jonathan squinted, realizing Alex had found her way sooner than he thought.
After a two-hour drive, they finally got back to the city.
"Katherine, you wanna grab a bite first or head home and eat later?" Frank asked.
Katherine said, "Food can wait. Let's hit the office first. I need to check the financials for the past six months."
Katherine was bracing for the worst. Now that Alex had found her, he might go after the Crescent Group to get to her. She needed to get a handle on the company's situation to come up with a quick plan.
For the past six months, she'd been busy dodging Alex and recovering, barely managing the company's affairs, and was out of the loop on a lot of things.
At the Crescent Group, Teresa was chilling on the couch in the waiting area downstairs, scrolling through her phone. She noticed a few people passing by and casually glanced up, her expression freezing in shock.
"Katherine," She widened her eyes in disbelief and called out.
Hearing this, Katherine stopped.
Teresa got up and ran over, both surprised and delighted. "It's really you! Do you know how hard Alex has been looking for you? Where have you been these past six months? We've been worried!"
Katherine's expression was indifferent, and she didn't answer Teresa's questions. She just looked at her and then at the spot where she had been sitting, raising an eyebrow. "Why are you sitting downstairs during work hours?"
Teresa was stunned, then quickly explained, "Katherine, you might not know, but I don't work at the Crescent Group anymore. It's almost lunchtime, and I'm here waiting for someone."
Katherine really didn't know Teresa no longer worked at the Crescent Group. "Waiting for who?" As she asked, she glanced at Frank beside her.
Frank's expression remained unchanged as he quietly watched Teresa. Noticing Katherine's glance, he shrugged innocently. "Katherine, don't look at me! She's not here for me!"
Teresa glanced at Frank indifferently and said, "I'm not here for Mr. Perez. I'm waiting for my boyfriend to have lunch together. Katherine, we haven't seen each other in forever. Why don't you join us for lunch? I'll call Alex and give him a surprise!"
'Teresa has a boyfriend?' Katherine realized she had missed some developments but wasn't very interested. She shook her head. "No need. You don't have to wait downstairs. You can come up with us and wait for your boyfriend."
