Chapter 444 Taste You

Fiona loved buying bags more than anything. But since Sandra cut off her card, she hadn't shopped in ages, especially for her beloved bags.

When she heard she could get ten Hermès bags, her eyes lit up. She skeptically eyed Katherine. "Do you even have the money? How can you promise me that?"

Katherine smiled. "Even if I don't, Alex does. Remember, I control all of his money now!"

Fiona realized it was true and was determined to get those bags today.

"Katherine, you better not back out when I finish writing!"

Katherine smirked. "I won't. But are you sure you don't want some spaghetti?"

Fiona scoffed at the ingredients. "I wouldn't eat your spaghetti! Even my dog wouldn't touch it!"

She turned to finish her workbook, ready to claim those bags from Katherine. But then she saw Alex, the person she feared most.

Alex, fresh from a shower and in a bathrobe, leaned against the kitchen door, arms crossed, glaring at her.

Fiona froze. "Alex... when did you get here?"

Alex frowned. "You haven't changed a bit!"

He moved to drag his unruly sister out for a lesson.

Terrified, Fiona hid behind Katherine, who was still cooking. "Alex, I was wrong! Please..."

Alex's voice was stern. "Get over here!"

Fiona, trembling, clung to Katherine. "Katherine, help me..."

Katherine calmly said, "Alex, can you get me another egg from the fridge?"

Alex couldn't refuse her request. He shot Fiona a cold look, sighed, and went to get the egg.

Fiona took the chance to slip away.

Outside the kitchen, she sighed in relief but felt confused. Why had she instinctively hidden behind Katherine and asked for her help? And why had Katherine helped her?

Katherine was really strange!

Ugh! So annoying!

She decided not to overthink it and focused on finishing her workbook. She wanted those Hermès bags!

Alex brought the egg, cracked it into the bowl, and tossed the shell. He looked at Katherine reproachfully. "Fiona disrespects you, yet you still protect her?"

Katherine whisked the egg, speaking casually. "Did I protect her?"

He touched her face gently. "You sent me to get an egg to stop me from teaching her a lesson. Isn't that protecting her?"

Katherine raised an eyebrow. "Alex, Rome wasn't built in a day! Fiona's like this because the Melville family spoiled her. You can't just kick her out because she's family. Be patient, let her learn and change slowly."

Alex paused, realizing Katherine was thinking of him. Despite being tough on Fiona, he couldn't kick her out. Where would she go? Back to her promiscuous mother? She wouldn't learn anything good there. Fiona, though a half-sister, was his only sister and held a special place in his heart.

When he was busy, he didn't have time to discipline her properly.

Seeing her alone at home, he tried to fulfill all her requests. As she grew older, her personality issues became apparent—uneducated, arrogant, rude, and friendless at school. Fiona had been a headache for years.

Alex gently pinched Katherine's face. "You act tough but are always so considerate. It makes my heart ache."

Katherine pouted. "Go away! I need to cook the spaghetti. Don't get in my way!"

She broke free from Alex's hand and turned to cook. But Alex wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "What spaghetti?"

Katherine frowned. "The spaghetti you wanted! Did you forget you haven't eaten yet?"

"I'm not hungry! I'll eat the spaghetti later. Let me taste you first."

Alex took the bowl of egg mixture from her hand, set it aside, turned her around, and kissed her gently.

"...Alex... stop..."

Sometimes, Katherine couldn't stand Alex's excessive desire for kissing. She was starting to doubt again! She just wanted to cook him some spaghetti. Why was it so difficult?

She didn't know how long it took before he finally let her go, and her legs were already weak.

To prevent him from taking advantage again, Katherine pushed him out.

"Alex, go wait outside for the spaghetti! Don't get in my way here! With you here, I can't get anything done!"

He smiled. "Why can't you get anything done? Is it because you're too nervous with me here?"

Katherine rolled her eyes. " It's because you're not behaving! Get out! Or I won't let you eat when it's done!"

Alex stopped teasing her. "Alright, alright, I'm going! Be careful not to burn yourself!"

"I know!"

Then, he turned and left. Only then did Katherine breathe a sigh of relief and focus on cooking the spaghetti for him.

Just as the spaghetti was almost done, her phone rang. She saw it was a call from Frank.

Katherine answered, "Frank, what's up?"

Frank's voice was serious. "Katherine, I just got news that someone is investigating your past in the village where you grew up!"

Katherine's brow furrowed. "Investigating my past? Who?"

Frank replied, "Our people confirmed it's the Mitchell family."

Katherine squinted thoughtfully. "How far have they gotten?"
