Chapter 29 It's Your Own Fault!
Sherry was dumbfounded. She hadn't received any job offers recently, so how could she be trending? And to top it off, she was at the top of the list?
Even when she had a high level of exposure before, she had never made it to the top of the trending list!
What on earth was going on?
Sherry had a bad feeling and quickly took out her phone to check. Her name was indeed at the top of Twitter's trending list.

Her hand trembled uncontrollably as she clicked on her own trending topic. Inside, there was a video of her drinking with a wealthy man at a gathering and a GIF of her sitting on the lap of a balding man!
How could these embarrassing scenes be trending?
Who did this? Who was trying to smear her?
Being on the trending list meant that the whole world could see Sherry's disgraceful behavior. Joshua felt ashamed. "You have no shame! Just look at how indecent you are in that video!"
Sherry's face turned pale, and she shook her head in denial. "Dad, it's not what you think. I..."
Joshua's face contorted with disgust as he interrupted, "You were sitting on that old man's lap. How can I have such a shameless daughter like you?"
Sherry wanted to defend herself, "Dad, I... I was just discussing work."
Joshua grabbed a dried flower arrangement from the cabinet and threw it at her face in anger. "Work? Do you need to sit on a man's lap to discuss work?"
The flower arrangement hit Sherry's head, leaving her speechless with fear. "I..."
"Dad, please calm down. I believe Sherry must have been forced," Katherine intervened, refilling Joshua's glass of water obediently. "Dad, Sherry only did it to gain fame and honor for our family. She was forced to let those old men touch her!"
Joshua became even angrier. "Fame? Has she brought any honor to our family? She did such a disgraceful thing, and it ended up trending, bringing shame to our entire household!"
There is no harm without comparison.
At first, Joshua thought it was not respectable for Katherine to work as a maid, which made him lose face. But now, Sherry's shameless act was the real embarrassment!
In comparison, Katherine was at least an honest and hardworking child!
Sherry dared not argue with Joshua but was unkind to Katherine, pointing at her and scolding, "Katherine, stop pretending to be a good person in front of Dad and causing trouble! It's all your fault, you little b*tch. Ever since you came back, nothing good has happened."
Joshua slapped Sherry hard!
"How dare you insult Katherine! You are the one who accompanies others for drinks. How dare you accuse Katherine! At least Katherine is working honestly and hasn't done anything disgraceful. Look at yourself! I see no sign of remorse from you. Today, I will teach you a lesson, you shameless person!"
Sherry screamed in pain, fell to the ground, and started crying.
"How dare you cry!" Joshua was so angry that he wanted to kick her again. Lillian saw Sherry being hit and hurried over to stop Joshua. "Joshua, please stop! Don't hit Sherry anymore. She must have her reasons!"
Joshua coldly snorted, "What reasons could she have? I think she is just seeking fame by any means necessary! Lillian, this is the daughter you raised! Both of you are a disgrace to the Galatea family! From today on, both of you stay at home and don't go out so you won't embarrass us outside!"
Joshua didn't want to see Lillian and Sherry anymore. He snorted and went upstairs.
Lillian quickly helped Sherry up and asked with concern, "Sherry, are you okay?"
Sherry collapsed into Lillian's arms and cried, "Mom, how could this happen? How did those things end up trending? My life is ruined!"
Lillian comforted her daughter, "Sherry, don't worry. I will find a way to clear your name. Don't cry for now."
Katherine stood aside, watching the despicable scene, and sneered.
Sherry heard Katherine's laughter and stopped crying. She frowned and resented Katherine, "Katherine, it's you! You're the one who ruined me!"
Katherine innocently spread her hands, "Sherry, I'm just a little maid. I don't have the ability to harm you. I can't afford to trend something like that."
Indeed, she didn't spend any money; she just used a little technique.
Sherry still glared at her unhappily, "Even if you didn't buy the trend, you must have told Dad. If you didn't come back, Dad wouldn't have known about it!"
Katherine furrowed her brows, "Sherry, it was you who persuaded Dad to call me back."
Sherry fell silent!
Katherine continued, "Besides, even if I didn't come back today, Dad would have found out through the news. Sherry, if you don't want others to know, it means you didn't do it."
Sherry was too angry to speak; she could only cry...
Seeing Sherry cry so sadly, Lillian couldn't bear it anymore and dropped her facade of being a good person. She said, "Katherine, stop gloating here! Do you think you're a good person? You're just a bastard pretending to be good in front of your father!"
"I may not be a good person, but I know exactly what kind of despicable people you two are!" Katherine smiled coldly. "Lillian, Sherry, do you know what your actions will lead to? When you do too many bad things, God will surely punish you!"
After speaking, Katherine turned around and went upstairs to find Joshua.
She had some things to discuss with Joshua alone.
Lillian watched Katherine's indifferent figure and gritted her teeth in anger.
How dare this illegitimate child mock them!

Lillian had long wanted to kick Katherine out of the Galatea family, but she had never succeeded.

Katherine gently pushed open the door and walked in, holding a painting.
