Chapter 878 Someone Will Handle It
Jonathan leaned in close to her, looking innocent, and said, "Wasn't I just trying to help you out? It's been three years, and now he's with Sophia! You can't lose, you need a boyfriend by your side, right?"
Katherine replied, "Oh, thanks a lot!"
As she said this, she had already walked to the car, opened the door, and got in.
Jonathan knew he wasn't welcome, so he quickly went around to the other side and got in, afraid she might leave him behind.
Once in the car, it immediately started moving.
Jonathan saw Katherine typing on her phone, seemingly sending a message to someone.
Always sharp, he squinted and thought for a moment, then suddenly understood, "Katherine, were you just pretending? Did you already meet Alex before this?"
Katherine focused on her phone and didn't even look up, "Be quiet!"
"Katherine, you acted so well, you even fooled me!"
Katherine ignored him.
Jonathan leaned over, trying to see what she was doing on her phone.
Katherine had just finished sending the message, locked her phone, and turned to glare at him, "What are you doing?"
Jonathan smiled with pursed lips and inquisitively asked, "Katherine, I'm really curious, what game are you and Alex playing? He hinted for me to take you away, and you were so calm and composed. Are you two in cahoots?"
Katherine looked at him displeased, "What do you mean by 'in cahoots'? Mr. Mostow, don't you think your choice of words is inappropriate? 'In cahoots' usually implies something shady. Do you think I'm a bad person?"
Jonathan chuckled, "You are terrible! You're always so mean to me, always breaking my heart!"
Katherine thought it was impossible to have a proper conversation with Jonathan!
Jonathan moved a bit closer to her, "Katherine, stop messing around! Tell me, what's going on? If you and Alex had already met, why pretend it was the first time?"
Katherine couldn't be bothered to talk to him.
In the fast-moving RV.
Trevor showed no unusual reaction, sitting in his wheelchair with his eyes closed and resting.
Sophia, feeling guilty and uneasy, kept observing Trevor's expression. Seeing nothing unusual, she felt both relieved and puzzled.
"Trevor, what did Mr. Mostow say to you just now?"
Trevor didn't open his eyes and said in a deep voice, "He said we used to be friends and that he's been worried about me these past few years."
Sophia took a deep breath, "Did he say anything else?"
Trevor slowly opened his eyes and looked at her, "No, why? Are you afraid he said something to me?"
Sophia immediately shook her head, forcing a natural laugh, "No! Why would I be? I was just asking! After so many years, I thought their appearance might bring back some memories for you!"
Her words were still probing.
Trevor said in a flat tone, "They did seem familiar, but I can't remember where I've seen them. Especially that woman, who is she? Was she close to me before?"
Hearing Trevor ask about Katherine, Sophia's face stiffened, "She was also a friend of yours, and she was Mr. Mostow's girlfriend. It's normal for you to find her familiar!"
As she spoke, she carefully observed Trevor's expression.
Trevor nodded, still with some doubt, "Really?"
Trevor's doubt made Sophia both worried that he might remember something and relieved that he hadn't remembered anything yet.
"Alright! We're out to have fun today, let's not talk about them! Trevor, I brought some fruit slices, you and Julian should have some! Our next stop is the most famous lake in Janetrick, the scenery there has a classic charm!"
Trevor took the plate of fruit slices Sophia handed him, placed it on the small table in the RV, and didn't eat any himself but used a small fork to hand a piece to Julian.
"Have some fruit."
Julian was lost in thought, ever since he saw Katherine, he had been very excited!
His mind was full of thoughts about Katherine. Hearing Trevor's voice, he snapped out of it, took the fruit slice, and woodenly put it in his mouth.
Sophia also noticed Julian's change. Recently, her attention had been focused on Trevor, and she hadn't paid much attention to Julian. She almost forgot that Julian had been switched with another child from Katherine's side!
The child raised by Katherine was more outspoken and cunning than Julian, and talked a lot.
And recently, Julian seemed to have reverted to his old self, being quiet and often lost in thought.
"Julian?" Sophia tried calling him.
Julian immediately looked up, angrily frowning, "What?"
His reaction was quick, almost as soon as he heard his name, he looked at her.
But it would take George a few seconds to respond when called.
What was going on? Did the two children switch back without her knowing?
Thinking of this, Sophia felt a bit scared and probed Julian with another question, "Julian, what were you daydreaming about just now? What's on your mind? Trevor and I brought you out to have fun, but you seem so distracted."
Julian, looking annoyed and with his brows furrowed, replied, "Now you even want to control my daydreaming? You're really being a buzzkill!"
Sophia thought his sharp tongue and directness didn't quite match Julian.
Julian should be the type who wouldn't listen to anything but wouldn't be so direct.
Was he really Julian or not?
Sophia was confused and looked at Trevor again, who was still resting with his eyes closed!
Whether Trevor remembered anything or not, she had to take him back to Markovia immediately!
As for Katherine and her three children, someone else would take care of them.
Thinking of this, a vicious glint flashed in Sophia's eyes. She took a piece of fruit and chewed it forcefully, imagining it was Katherine.
Katherine and Jonathan arrived at a restaurant and didn't ask for a private room; they just found a spot in the main dining area.
Jonathan seemed a bit displeased. "Katherine, I just spoke to the manager. There's space available upstairs. Why aren't we going up there?"
Katherine sat down and said, "If you want to sit upstairs, go ahead. I prefer it down here, so I'm staying. We can each eat where we like."
