Chapter 915 She's Asleep
Claire held Katherine's cool hand tightly, "No, I want to take you away from here! Luara, will you come with me?"
Katherine's expression froze. What she thought was a definite answer now seemed uncertain.
Seeing Katherine's hesitation, Claire realized that Luara was no longer a child.
Luara had grown up, had her own attachments, and people who cared about her.
Claire wiped her tears and smiled, "I still think of you as a child! I forgot that you are now a mother with your own family and children!"
Katherine, realizing the situation, looked at Claire with some difficulty, "Can't you stay with us?"

Katherine had always been a smart child. She almost immediately understood Claire's concern, "Mom, you don't want to stay because of the Mitchell family, right?"

Katherine held Claire's hand with both of hers, "I understand! The Mitchell family is in Janetrick, we can live in another city, somewhere far from them. Would that be okay?"
Claire shook her head, "They won't let me go. As long as they know I'm alive, they won't allow me to live with you."
Seeing her mother so terrified of the Mitchell family, Katherine felt as if her heart had plunged into an icy abyss. She couldn't imagine what kind of mistreatment Claire had suffered from the Mitchell family to be this afraid!
She must seek justice for Claire.
Katherine sensibly didn't continue to dwell on it, "Alright, we can discuss it later! Right now, you're injured, you should focus on getting better first."
Claire was very touched by Luara's understanding. She nodded, held Luara's hand, and talked about where she had been and what she had done over the years.
As they talked, Claire grew tired and fell asleep!
When Claire fell silent, Katherine gently called out a few times without getting a response. Confirming that Claire was asleep, she got up, laid Claire's body flat, covered her with a blanket, and left the room.
Nora and Linda hadn't gone out to buy anything; they were sitting on the chairs outside the hospital room, waiting.
Seeing Katherine come out, Linda ran over and asked, "Katherine, how did your talk with your mother go?"
Nora felt Linda was being a bit abrupt and pulled her to her side, awkwardly saying to Katherine, "Linda can be a bit tactless, Katherine, don't mind her!"
Katherine shook her head and bowed to Nora, "Thank you for giving me the chance to see my mother!"
If Katherine had been wary of Nora and Linda before, she wasn't anymore. Claire's good friends were people she could trust!
Moreover, if it hadn't been for Nora noticing her resemblance to Claire, Claire wouldn't have come back to find her!
She was truly grateful from the bottom of her heart.
Nora, feeling embarrassed by Katherine's bow, quickly waved her hands, "Katherine, you don't have to be so formal! Your mom and I are best friends; it's the least I can do!"
Katherine bowed again, "And thank you for taking care of my mom all these years, for covering for her, and not letting the Mitchell family harm her."
Nora sighed and helped Katherine up, "Katherine, enough! I accept your thanks, but stop bowing, or I'll get mad!"
Katherine nodded, straightened up, and didn't want to make Nora feel too awkward.
She looked at the men in black guarding the door and asked Nora, "Mrs. Coleman, I just saw those people taking out daily necessities. Is my mom preparing to be discharged? But her injuries haven't healed yet!"
Speaking of this, Nora's face showed some melancholy, "It's not that she's being discharged, Claire insists on being transferred to another hospital. I just helped her with the transfer procedures. If you hadn't come, we would have already moved to another hospital by now!"
Katherine looked puzzled, "This is the best hospital in Janetrick, why transfer?"
Nora explained, "Your mom originally wanted to be discharged, but her injuries made me very uneasy. When I refused to let her be discharged, she insisted on being transferred. If she didn't transfer, she wouldn't cooperate with the treatment. And this is because..."
