Chapter 338 Ms. Galatea Is so Magnanimous

Alex stared at Billy calmly. "If there's a problem, have Bernard find me. Now, move."

Billy hesitated. He wouldn't want things to get worse for the Melvilles and the Mitchells..

Realizing the seriousness, Billy signaled his men to step aside.

Alex, expressionless, carried Katherine through Billy's group. Scarlett, looking worried, approached. "Alex, is Katherine okay?"

Katherine raised an eyebrow at Scarlett, impressed by her acting. Moments ago, she was pushing for an abortion, and now she was pretending to care.

Seeing Scarlett act so pitiful, Alex might think she was an angel in distress.

Katherine tried to jump out of Alex's arms to avoid hindering their conversation.

Unexpectedly, Alex tightened his grip, not letting her move.

His cold eyes stared at Scarlett. "Miss Mitchell, you saved my life once, and I owe you. But don't think that means you can interfere in my marriage. Don't confuse my gratitude with tolerance."

Katherine was stunned. Did Alex really talk to Scarlett like that?

Scarlett panicked, her eyes reddening. "Alex, you misunderstood! Bernard forced Katherine to come here, and I tried to stop her. Ask Billy if you don't believe me."

Alex ignored her, carrying Katherine past her.

Held tightly, Katherine glanced at the crying Scarlett with disdain.

Scarlett was even more despicable than she thought. She sold out her brother to look innocent. Truly selfish!

Unfortunately, most people couldn't see through her act, like Billy, who went to comfort her.

Once outside the hospital, Katherine fidgeted, wanting to get down.

"Alex, put me down! I haven't had surgery yet; I can walk!"

Alex ignored her, tightening his grip and walking forward.

Leander Nelson drove up, got out, and opened the door. Alex carried Katherine inside.

The black Mercedes drove out of the hospital. Leander raised the partition for privacy.

In the car, Katherine finally broke free, sat to the side, and straightened her clothes. "Where are you taking me?"

He sat beside her, his elbow resting on the window, looking lazy yet dangerous.

"Nowhere, we're just going to talk."

His tone was neutral, hard to read.

Katherine didn't look at him, hugging her arms and watching the street. "What do you want to talk about? Go ahead."

"Why did you agree to Bernard's demand to abort the child?" Alex asked.

The question showed he had already looked into it.

Katherine pursed her lips. "That day at the hospital, Bernard's blood type matched a car accident victim. Seeing the victim's young daughter in distress, I wanted Bernard to donate blood. But he made a condition: I had to abort the child. In desperation, I agreed."

Alex snorted. "So you agreed to abort my child without my permission?"

Katherine's brows furrowed, eyes flickering with guilt. "Your child? What are you talking about? The child has nothing to do with you!"

"Turn around and say that to my face!" he demanded, his tone sharp.

Katherine took a deep breath, turned to him, and repeated, "The child has nothing to do with you!"

Alex's brows furrowed in displeasure. "Fine, even if it's not mine! Katherine, with such a good relationship with your husband, how could you bear to abort the child?"

Katherine's eyes wandered, and she lied. "Because... we don't want the kids... aborting the child was part of the plan."

The man's rough hand grabbed her chin, lifting it. "Keep lying! Go on!"

Katherine blinked, turning her head to look out the window. "I-I'm not lying."

She felt childish and foolish. Why couldn't she ever be composed around Alex?

Alex glared at her before releasing her chin and tossing a manila envelope in front of her. "Take a look."

Katherine was puzzled. What was it?

She picked up the envelope and pulled out a stack of photos.

Each photo showed Frank with his recent dates, entering and leaving hotels, arms around each other, laughing.

Katherine's temples throbbed. She had told him to tone it down, yet he was still playing around!

Stuffing the photos back into the envelope, Katherine awkwardly smiled. "Sorry you had to see this. I'll talk to that scoundrel and tell him to tone it down."

He squinted at her, sneering. "I didn't expect you to be so tolerant! Your husband is out partying, and you don't seem angry at all?"

Katherine forced a laugh. "It's best to be open-minded. How many men don't fool around? As long as he comes home, it's fine!"

This was all nonsense to fool Alex. In her heart, she believed married people should be responsible, with no tolerance for cheating.

In the confined space of the car, two crisp claps sounded. Alex actually applauded. "Ms. Galatea is truly 'virtuous'! But why didn't you show such tolerance with me before? Because of a little misunderstanding, you abandoned me without a word!"

Katherine was left with a question mark in her head.
