Chapter 853 They Are Missing
Rolf said regretfully, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Turner. This is an abandoned area of the hospital, and the surveillance cameras are no longer working."
Sophia looked dissatisfied, her eyes still warily scanning the cluttered room.
Rolf thought Sophia was being overly suspicious and reminded her, "Mrs. Turner, aren't you in a hurry to check on your husband's condition?"
Sophia suddenly realized that checking on Alex's condition was more important right now.
After one last sweep of the room to confirm nothing was amiss, Sophia turned around, "Alright, let's go!"
Following Rolf, they left the storage room and went to the special examination room next door.
Once the storage room door was closed, silence returned. A minute later, the door of a cabinet storing fire equipment on the balcony was pushed open from the inside, and three people emerged one after another.
Sunny, pulling Ambrosia out, kept coughing because the inside was full of dust, making it hard to breathe.
The three of them had been crammed into the small space, and the door almost couldn't close. Fortunately, the cabinet door faced the balcony window, and when Sophia had just checked the balcony, she hadn't noticed anything!
Suppressing his cough, Sunny patted the dust off his clothes and turned to see who had pulled them in.
What he saw almost scared him to death!
Standing behind him, dusting himself off, was Bernard.
For a moment, Sunny thought his eyes were playing tricks on him!
"Bernard? What are you doing here?" Sunny asked.
Bernard, with a serious expression, said, "You ask me? I told you to keep an eye on Dad upstairs, and here you are sneaking out for a date!"
As he spoke, Bernard deliberately glanced at Ambrosia.
Sunny felt a bit embarrassed, "Bernard, I wasn't sneaking out for a date! I heard Sophia was up to something here, so I came with Ambrosia to check it out!"
Bernard narrowed his eyes slightly, "Where did you hear that Sophia was here?"
Sunny answered honestly, "Ambrosia saw her and told me. She also suspected Katherine was here. We tried calling Katherine and you before we came, but we couldn't get through!"
Bernard's phone was on silent mode, so he hadn't noticed the calls.
As for Katherine, she probably hadn't had time to check her phone either!
Sunny asked curiously, "Bernard, you still haven't told us why you're here. Weren't you taking Katherine home? Where is she?"
Bernard's eyes instinctively drifted to the balcony next door, "She's with Alex."
Sunny and Ambrosia were both surprised and exchanged glances, then almost asked in unison. "What are they doing together?"
Bernard didn't answer the question but sighed, "It's a long story. If nothing goes wrong, they'll be discovered by Sophia soon!"
Sunny frowned in confusion, "We just heard Sophia and that doctor talking about collecting semen. Could it be..."
Ambrosia, who had guessed everything from Sophia and Rolf's conversation, was no longer curious but worried about Katherine's safety, "Mr. Mitchell, what do you think we should do now?"
Rolf unlocked the door to the special examination room, and the room was dim because the curtains were drawn.
A pornographic film was playing on the screen, with the actors making indecent noises.
Sophia entered and immediately showed a look of discomfort, frowning as she searched for Trevor. She looked around but saw no one!
"Dr. Tackett, what's going on? Where's Trevor? Didn't you say a nurse was with Trevor here? Where are they? Why is no one here?"
Rolf was also puzzled by Sophia's question, "I don't know what's going on either. The door was locked; there shouldn't be no one inside!"
Sophia became anxious, "Dr. Tackett, what on earth is going on here? I trusted you with Trevor, and now he's missing! Could it be that the nurse has taken my husband away?"
Rolf was very embarrassed, "That's impossible! What benefit would she get from taking Trevor? That would be a crime! Mrs. Turner, please calm down and wait a moment. I'll contact Clio right away."
Saying this, Rolf took out his phone to make a call, but this time he got a notification that the other party's phone was turned off.
Turned off? What was going on?
Rolf also felt that something was wrong.
Seeing Rolf just holding his phone without saying anything, Sophia urged anxiously, "Did you get through or not?"
Rolf looked embarrassed, "Mrs. Turner, Clio might be busy with something."
Hearing this, Sophia's face turned unpleasant, "Where have you hidden Trevor? This is too much! I'm calling the police right now."
With Trevor missing, Sophia was too anxious to care about anything else and took out her phone to dial 911.
Rolf panicked, fearing that the situation would escalate and affect his job, "Mrs. Turner, please wait. Mr. Turner can't be far."
Sophia ignored him and had already dialed the number!
However, at that moment, a cold voice suddenly said, "I'm here."
Sophia was stunned, and at the same time, the operator's voice came through the phone, "911, what's your emergency?"
Turning around quickly, she saw Trevor sitting quietly in the wheelchair, with the curtain swaying in the wind, perhaps having hidden him earlier.
The room was dimly lit, so it wasn't surprising she hadn't seen him at first.
Rolf breathed a sigh of relief, "Mrs. Turner, your husband is right there! Please hang up the call."
Seeing Trevor, Sophia hung up the phone and hurried over, concerned, "Trevor, are you alright?"
Trevor looked at her expressionlessly, his tone sarcastic, "Didn't you bring me here for a check-up? Why would you think something could happen to me here?"
Sophia's expression stiffened, and she was at a loss for words.
