Chapter 943 Found Her
"Oh, right!" Cinda exclaimed as something suddenly came to her mind.
Katherine's eyes immediately focused, "What?"
Cinda said, "That woman always tried to get close to my husband. My husband is a loyal man and ignored her, so she often clung to one of our old kitchen employees to help her with various tasks. Not long after I fired her, that old kitchen employee suddenly quit too. They might still be in contact!"
Katherine saw a glimmer of hope and tightly held Cinda's hand, "Do you have a photo of that employee that I can see?"
Cinda thought for a moment, "Yes! I do! Last month, during our store's third anniversary celebration, he was still here, and we took a group photo together! Honey, you posted that group photo on Facebook, right? Quick, pull it up and show this lady!"
The fast-food restaurant owner, hearing Cinda's instructions, quickly took out his phone, opened his Facebook, and found the photo.
"This one, the employee on the far right in the photo!"
Katherine's heart tightened when she saw the person in the photo. She remembered that face; it was the middle-aged man selling balloons who had been around her children recently!
Katherine then asked Cinda, "Could you help contact him and try to arrange a meeting with him?"
Seeing how anxious Katherine was, Cinda was quite willing to help, "Alright! I'll contact him. He left in a hurry back then and still has some unpaid wages that we haven't settled yet."
Katherine nodded, "Call him now and say you want to settle his salary and arrange a meeting, but don't mention anything about us."
Cinda, understanding, took out her phone and dialed Orion Lowe's number.
After finding a quiet place and talking with Orion for a while, Cinda hung up and told Katherine, "I talked to him. He said he's out of town right now and can't come back immediately. He'll come to the store tomorrow afternoon to get his salary."
Katherine quickly asked, "Did he say where he is?"
Cinda shook her head, "The signal on his end seemed really bad, and he hung up before he could say."
Katherine frowned, understanding the situation, "Thank you. Please give me his number."
Cinda showed Katherine the number saved in her phone.
Katherine, having an excellent memory since childhood, quickly memorized the number, "Thank you! I'll send someone to compensate for your store's door tomorrow. We need to leave now, sorry!"
Without waiting for Cinda's response, Katherine turned to Alex and said, "Let's go!"
Alex understood her plan and followed without saying much.
Bernard and Sunny exchanged glances and then followed into the car.
In the car, Katherine, sitting in the passenger seat, was already using her computer to track the signal location of Orion's phone that Cinda had given her.
Alex started the car and drove at a steady speed, waiting for Katherine to give the word to speed up.
A minute later, Katherine said, "They are at Lonely Crag!"
No one in their right mind would be in such a desolate place at this time. They must have hidden Charles there!
Alex said nothing and just sped up!
In the back seat, Bernard and Sunny were both surprised by Katherine's computer skills. She managed to track a phone number's location so quickly!
Sunny, especially admiring such computer skills, leaned forward to look at Katherine's computer screen and was shocked!
"Katherine, you're Yuki!"
Katherine glared at him, "Sit down and be quiet!"
Sunny pouted and sat back in his seat, but his admiration only grew!
Oh my God, his most admired idol was actually Katherine!
This was truly unbelievable!
Lonely Crag.
Orion put away his phone after finishing the call with Cinda and swatted at the buzzing mosquitoes nearby.
Scarlett walked out of the cave, looking at him warily, and asked, "Who were you talking to just now?"
Orion smiled, "There's no one else here! I just took a call."
"What? A call? Didn't I tell you to throw your phone into the river? You didn't throw it!" Scarlett said angrily, frowning.
Orion didn't care, "Phones are expensive. It would be a waste to throw it away!"
Scarlett was furious, "Then you should at least throw away the SIM card! Do you know how easily we can be tracked by the signal?"
Orion thought Scarlett was being too cautious, "I have a lot of important contacts saved on this SIM card! What if my family calls me for something? I can't just drop everything for you! Besides, I don't think they can find us. They don't even know we know each other!"
Scarlett was exasperated. "Tell me, who called you and what did they want?"
Orion answered truthfully, "It was Cinda. She said I should come to get the salary they owe me. I arranged to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. It's quite a bit of money!"
Scarlett found the situation suspicious, grabbed his phone to check the time and date, and immediately said, "Damn! This place isn't safe anymore! We need to leave now!"
Orion felt exhausted and didn't want to move, complaining, "Scarlett, I think you're overreacting! This place is so remote, they won't find us here so quickly. It's the middle of the night, where are we supposed to go? I spent a lot of energy carrying Charles up the mountain today, I can't move anymore!"
Scarlett insisted, "Even if you're tired, we have to go! You idiot, we've been discovered, and you don't even know it!"
Orion still thought Scarlett was overreacting, "Who discovered us?"
Scarlett said, "You're really stupid! Why would Cinda call you at this time to get your salary? The fast-food place is closed at this hour! And today isn't even a payday. They must be suspicious of me; they've tracked me down to the fast-food restaurant!"
