Chapter 731 Mommy, I Want That!

Fiona really forgot that picnics require preparing food in advance!

"Yes, we have food!" Sandra slowly walked out of the kitchen. "Katherine, I just had someone make a lot of desserts for the kids, including cookies and cakes. I'll have the maid make some more sandwiches for you to take along, and that should be enough for your picnic!"

Fiona laughed and cheered, rushing towards Sandra. "Grandma, you are a lifesaver, thank you so much!"

Sandra pushed Fiona away with a hint of disdain but looked lovingly at Katherine. "Katherine, you've been working hard at the company lately. Take this weekend to relax."

Katherine smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Grandma."

George, Edith, and Charles also jumped up and down, saying in unison, "Thank you, Great Grandma!"

Sandra felt overjoyed hearing her great-grandchildren's clear voices.

"George, Edith, Charles, stay here. I'll prepare more delicious food for you. Remember to listen to your mommy and don't run around when you go out to play!" Sandra said.

Charles replied, "Okay!"

George shouted, "We'll be good!"

Edith said, "I'll be good too!"

Sandra couldn't stop smiling. "Good!"

Katherine changed her clothes and also packed extra clothes and water bottles for George, Edith, and Charles, then went downstairs to get ready to leave.

Sandra had already had the food loaded into the car and placed in the car fridge.

With everything ready, Katherine and Fiona said goodbye to Sandra, took George, Edith, and Charles, and set off.

Children's songs played in the car, matching the sunny weather outside. George, Edith, and Charles were in high spirits, singing along to the tunes.

Seeing the kids in a good mood, Katherine also felt much brighter.

Fiona suddenly instructed the driver to first go to Janetrick University to pick someone up.

The driver complied and changed direction.

Katherine seemed to guess something, raising an eyebrow and glancing at Fiona. "Got a little romance brewing?"

Fiona's face turned red instantly. "What are you talking about? It's just a classmate. He said he wanted to join us, so I agreed! Besides, he can help us watch the kids!"

Katherine smirked but didn't press further.

She knew who Fiona was going to pick up, a junior named Nathan Michell, whom Fiona had a crush on for a long time.

Katherine's guess was spot on. When the car arrived at Janetrick University, Nathan was waiting at the gate and got into their car.

The two girls sat in the back with the kids, and Nathan naturally took the front passenger seat.

After getting in, he turned around and smiled at Fiona, then greeted Katherine politely, "Katherine, long time no see."

Katherine nodded. "Yeah. Looks like you've stayed on as a mentor at the university?"

Nathan scratched the back of his head. "Yes! I'm not suited for corporate work. Staying at the university is more comfortable for me."

Katherine smiled. "That's great. You're well-suited to be a teacher. If you can teach our Fiona so well, you can definitely teach others."

Katherine emphasized the word "teach" with a playful tone, clearly teasing them.

Fiona blushed and said awkwardly, "Katherine, what are you talking about? Nathan was very professional when he was tutoring me."

Katherine just smiled and didn't correct herself.

Nathan didn't mind, just smiled shyly, then looked at George, Edith, and Charles sitting between the two women, and sighed. "The kids have grown so much. Time flies."

Katherine turned to look at the passing scenery outside the car window. "Yes, time flies."

In the blink of an eye, three years had passed.

Evergreen Park was a prime spot for picnics, with many families bringing their kids here on sunny weekends.

Katherine and Fiona led the kids in front, while Nathan followed behind, carrying their things.

Finding a suitable patch of grass, Fiona pointed and said, "Nathan, let's set up there!"

Nathan nodded. "Okay!"

Then the two of them busied themselves laying out the picnic blanket and arranging the food and drinks.

After taking a few photos of the food, Fiona called George, Edith, and Charles over to take pictures with the food.

George, Edith, and Charles liked Fiona a lot and ran over.

Nathan, not used to being in photos, stepped back a few paces to avoid the camera, quietly watching her with a gentle smile.

Katherine walked over to Nathan, observed his expression, and asked softly, "Do you like her?"

Caught off guard, Nathan blushed but honestly nodded. "To be honest, I used to have a lot of misconceptions about Fiona. I thought she was lazy and temperamental. But after you asked me to tutor her for a while, I realized she's actually quite straightforward."

Katherine agreed. "She is straightforward, especially in her thinking."

She tapped her head, clearly referring to Fiona's mind.

Nathan understood and chuckled.

He didn't deny it; Fiona's straightforwardness was part of her charm.

The two of them chatted and smiled, watching Fiona take pictures of the kids.

Suddenly, Katherine felt a chill down her spine, as if being watched.

This feeling was familiar. Whenever Alex glared at her, she would feel this way.

Katherine's heart skipped a beat. She turned her head on instinct and saw a man sitting under a sunshade in a wheelchair, looking in their direction.

The man wore a sun mask and dark sunglasses, making it hard to see his face.

Though it was sunny, it was rare for a man to be so concerned about UV rays to the point of such protection.

"Mommy! Mommy!" George's voice caught Katherine's attention, and she instinctively looked over.

George was jumping up and down, pointing at the sky, looking very excited!

Katherine walked over and asked, "What's wrong?"

George looked eager. "Mommy, I want to fly a kite too. I want that robot kite!"

Katherine followed his finger and saw a robot kite flying in the sky.
