Chapter 9 You're in Trouble!
Amy only felt that Katherine was very optimistic, while she herself had lost hope.
The project plan she had prepared for a month was ruined like this. Although Amy was really sad, there was nothing she could do!
She sighed and walked towards the lounge.
"Katherine, you're busy. I'll go make a cup of coffee for you. You'll feel more energized after drinking it!"
"Okay, thank you!" Katherine responded lightly. At the same time, a red progress bar appeared on her computer's black screen.
When the progress was complete, Katherine quickly cracked the password.
She clicked to bring up a hidden dialogue box, typed a few words on the keyboard, and sent them.
She asked: [Why are you doing this?]
The hacker was extremely shocked and replied: [Who are you? How can you break into the AJ Association's final-level encryption system!]
Katherine replied: [Who I am is not the point. The point now is, why are you attacking the Apricot Group? If someone has offended you, go after them, but don't destroy the hard work of many innocent people!]
The hacker was not convinced and immediately launched another attack.
However, his attack was successfully intercepted by the defense system that Katherine had already set up.
He couldn't help but admire this mysterious opponent whose skills surpassed his own.
When Amy came back with the coffee, Katherine had already fixed the computer, and all the files were restored.
"The computer is really fixed! Katherine, you're amazing! How did you do it?"
Katherine unplugged the USB drive, held it in her hand, and gave it a spin. Leaning lazily against the back of the chair, she smiled and said, "I bought this antivirus software online for a few bucks, claiming it can block any attack, and now it seems to be true!"
Amy frowned and snorted, "What? Did you really fix it with antivirus software? The IT department said antivirus software is useless. They are the ones who are truly useless!"
Katherine took the cup of coffee from Amy's hand, raised her chin, and said, "Alright, go and show the presentation to Mr. Green and the others!"
"Yes! I'll go now! Katherine, I love you!"
Amy blew a kiss to Katherine and hurried off to work.
Katherine's colleagues suddenly gathered around her, asking for the antivirus software purchase link.
Katherine lazily brushed them off. "Don't worry, I'll post it in the company's chat group later!"
She took a sip of her coffee, raised her eyes, and glanced at Henry's office.
She thought, 'Alexander probably hasn't finished his cup of coffee yet.'
In Henry's office, after Ruth brought Alexander his coffee, she stood beside him in various seductive poses, showing off her legs.
But no matter what she did, she couldn't get Alexander's attention. Her legs were about to cramp.
Amy gently knocked on the door and leaned in, saying, "Mr. Green, I'm ready with the presentation. The scheduled meeting can proceed."
Henry, who was carefully accompanying Alexander with the coffee, was pleasantly surprised. "Is the computer fixed?"
Amy nodded confidently. "Yes, Mr. Green! Katherine has fixed everything on the computer!"
Henry chuckled, "She's really capable!"
Henry's tense mood finally relaxed. He stood up, made a respectful gesture, and said, "Mr. Melville, the meeting materials are all prepared. Please go to the conference room and let our new project manager introduce our new project to you!"
Alexander's large hand, holding the coffee cup, looked very attractive, with long fingers and prominent bones.
Upon hearing this, he narrowed his eyes in contemplation, elegantly put down the coffee cup, and stood up. Every move of a mature man exuded a strong and noble charm.
Ruth was gnashing her teeth.
She didn't expect that Katherine would actually fix the computer!
Fifteen minutes later, Alexander walked out of the conference room with a calm face, showing no emotions.
Henry followed closely, seeing him off.
As they passed by Katherine, Alexander suddenly stopped, turned his head, and gave her a cold glance with a malicious smile.
"Mr. Green, thanks to this talented person, you've wasted an hour of my time!"
Henry apologized awkwardly, "Mr. Melville, I'm really sorry."
Alexander withdrew his gaze, didn't look at Katherine again, and walked towards the elevator.
Katherine was feeling puzzled when Ruth approached with a smug smile. "Katherine, so what if you can fix computers? Mr. Melville is still not satisfied with your foolish plan!"
Ignoring Ruth, Katherine turned to Amy, who had just come back from the meeting room, and asked, "Amy, what's going on?"
Amy, with a dejected voice, said, "Katherine, there were several critical data errors in the presentation. Mr. Melville said our plan is garbage."
Katherine frowned.
At that moment, Henry, who had seen off Alexander, came back. He looked at Amy with a stern face and reprimanded, "Amy, what's wrong with you? How could you make so many fundamental mistakes? If you can't handle it, leave the company!"
Amy, feeling ashamed, said, "Mr. Green, I'm sorry! I..."
Katherine caught a triumphant smile on Ruth's face and knew she was up to her tricks again!
"Mr. Green, the errors in the presentation have nothing to do with Amy. Although the computer was fixed, a virus damaged some of the original content, causing the data in the presentation to be chaotic. It was my mistake to let Amy take it to the meeting without checking. I will resign!"
Henry frowned and looked at Katherine.
Gavin, who was following behind Henry, said displeasedly, "Resign? Well, that's what you hope for! Katherine, you are being fired. Pack up and leave. Don't make Mr. Green angry here!"
While waiting for the elevator, Amy chased after Katherine, feeling extremely guilty and uneasy.
"Katherine, I'm the one who should leave..."
Katherine shook her head lightly. "It has nothing to do with you; Mr. Scott was going to dismiss me anyway; you don't have to leave."
Amy felt it was unfair. She said angrily, "But if you leave like this, Ruth can be directly promoted to a permanent employee. Clearly, she is not as capable as you in all aspects. She shouldn't benefit from this!"
Katherine shrugged indifferently, waved her hand at Amy, and turned to get on the elevator.
As Katherine stepped out of the elevator, the door of the adjacent elevator opened.
Ruth walked out of the elevator and threw a box of office supplies in front of Katherine.
"You forgot to take your things. Mr. Scott said your position will be turned into an office for me!"
Katherine remained calm. She bent down to pick up her own belongings and said, "Ruth, we were colleagues after all. Let me give you a piece of advice!"
Ruth, in a victorious stance, crossed her arms, shrugged her shoulders, and said, "What? Spit it out!"
Katherine smiled faintly, leaned closer to her ear, and said, "You've got a job that exceeds your abilities. You will definitely run into trouble!"
Ruth was taken aback, then snorted disdainfully.
She thought Katherine was just trying to scare her. In Ruth's eyes, she was nothing but a failure.
Katherine walked out of the company building with her belongings. A black limited edition Mercedes business van suddenly stopped next to her.
Leander got out of the passenger seat and said, "Ms. Galatea, Mr. Melville wants you to get in the car."
Katherine didn't want to talk to him and planned to walk around the car.
Leander raised his hand to stop her and said, "Ms. Galatea, please get in the car!"
Katherine's face darkened. She couldn't go around, so she reluctantly got into the car.
Ruth happened to witness this scene. She had noticed a limited edition luxury car passing by the company entrance and wanted to take a closer look. She didn't expect to see Katherine getting into that car!
Ruth's eyes widened in shock. What's going on?
That was a limited edition Mercedes. How could Katherine get into such a nice car?
Ruth felt that she didn't deserve it!
