Chapter 818 I Want to Marry Ambrosia

Bernard didn't care at all about what to eat; he just wanted to stay a bit longer with Katherine and the kids.

Katherine didn't mind either. The kids liked being with Bernard, and he could help her entertain them, giving her a chance to rest.

Sunny, however, wasn't too happy. With Bernard staying, he felt completely constrained. How could he get close to Ambrosia with Bernard watching? Bernard would definitely scold him!

So, when Frank put down the coffee and went back to the kitchen to cut some fruit, Sunny followed him in, ready to confront him.

"Are you out of your mind? Why did you let Bernard stay? You're not even friends with him!"

Frank, taking fruit out of the fridge with a smile, said, "I don't think we're friends either, so why are you staying here?"

Sunny's face stiffened. "I'm not staying here because of you!"

Frank washed the fruit in the sink. "Yeah, but you're here for Ambrosia, right?"

Sunny crossed his arms. "Of course!"

Frank chuckled. "But you just told Bernard that you were staying because a friend was getting married and you wanted to hang out. Did I hear that wrong?"

Sunny felt a bit embarrassed; he had indeed said that.

"So what if I did? Since I got together with Ambrosia, her friends have been my friends, too! Besides, I've known Teresa for many years; we're friends!"

Frank smirked but didn't say anything before Teresa walked in. "Sunny, I wouldn't call us friends!"

Sunny glared. "Teresa, you! Do you think I care about being friends with you? As long as I have Ambrosia, that's enough!"

Teresa mercilessly jabbed at his heart. "I'm afraid Ms. Hawthorne doesn't consider you much of a friend either!"

Sunny confidently replied, "Of course, she doesn't see me as a friend because she sees me as her husband!"

Frank and Teresa burst out laughing.

Sunny, a bit flustered, asked, "What are you laughing at? What's wrong with what I said?"

"Everything."

The one who answered wasn't anyone else but Ambrosia herself.

Ambrosia had come to the kitchen to get some water for the kids and overheard Sunny's inappropriate comments, looking visibly annoyed.

Sunny was initially angry, but seeing Ambrosia, he immediately toned it down. "Ambrosia, why are you siding with them? What's wrong with what I said?"

Ambrosia glanced at him. "Bernard is still here; behave yourself!"

Sunny frowned. "I'm afraid of him, but I won't deny our relationship just because he's here!"

Ambrosia raised an eyebrow. "What relationship?"

Sunny got anxious. "What do you mean, what relationship? Didn't you admit I was your boyfriend the other day?"

Ambrosia ignored him and went to get water for the kids.

Sunny, displeased, followed her closely. "Explain yourself! Why are you denying our relationship now?"

Ambrosia, a bit irritated, adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses. "Keep your voice down and stop making a scene."

Hearing this, Sunny got even more upset. "How am I making a scene? Ambrosia, can't you take me seriously?"

Hearing the commotion, Frank wisely took the washed fruit and led Teresa to the open area outside, leaving the kitchen to the two of them.

Ambrosia glanced at the departing Frank and Teresa, then looked at Sunny with displeasure. "When will you change your temper?"

Sunny, burning with anger, retorted, "I can control my temper in other matters, but not with you! Why won't you acknowledge our relationship?"

Ambrosia, usually calm, was also getting agitated. "Why must we acknowledge a relationship that has no future? If we get along, let's enjoy the present and not stress over labels!"

Sunny's eyes widened. "What do you mean, no future? Why do you think we have no future together? I think you're not serious about me at all!"

Ambrosia put down the water jug and turned to face him. "What future do you think we have? Don't tell me you think we will get married. Think about it. Who in your Mitchell family would accept you marrying a woman six years older than you with a complicated past? Be realistic, okay?"

Sunny looked at her, his pupils trembling. "If my family agreed to you marrying into our family, would you marry me?"

Ambrosia hesitated, then turned away, filling the kids' water bottles.

Without a response, Sunny seemed both disappointed and furious, turning and storming out!

Ambrosia didn't expect Sunny to go straight to Bernard!

"Bernard, I have something to tell you."

Bernard, who was playing with the kids on the sofa, looked up sharply, his brows furrowing. "What?"

Katherine, sipping her coffee, also looked at Sunny in surprise.

Sunny said, "I want to marry Ambrosia! You know her; she's right here, getting water in the kitchen!"

Bernard's frown deepened, and he didn't speak for a long time, looking at Sunny with a very displeased expression.

Katherine, sipping her coffee, glanced at Bernard, seemingly waiting for his response.

After a long while, Bernard finally spoke in a serious tone. "The family has found a few women around your age who seem like good matches. If you're thinking about settling down, you should take some time to meet them."

Sunny immediately protested. "I don't want a blind date! Bernard, you don't even want to meet the girls the family picked for you, so why should I? I just want to marry Ambrosia.!"

Bernard narrowed his eyes coldly. "Are you asking for my opinion, or are you telling me your decision?"

Feeling a chill under Bernard's gaze, Sunny replied, "I'm doing both—asking for your opinion and telling you my decision."
