Chapter 849 Just Keep Me Company
Ambrosia arrived at Janetrick Hospital twenty minutes later.
She got out of the car and quickly ran towards the elevator in the underground parking lot, only to bump into a familiar face as soon as she entered.
It was Sophia, the one who had caused Katherine so much trouble!
Sophia had just come from a beauty salon, and the strong scent of beauty products on her filled the entire elevator!
When Ambrosia entered the elevator, Sophia was looking down at her phone and didn't notice Ambrosia.
Moreover, she was going from the basement to the first floor and got off quickly.
Watching Sophia leave the elevator, Ambrosia followed her out and saw Sophia walking down the quietest corridor on the first floor.
Ambrosia found it odd that Sophia was at the hospital, but since she didn't see anyone else with her, she didn't think much of it and returned to the elevator to go upstairs and find Sunny.
At this moment, Sunny had already received Ambrosia's message asking for his room number.
After replying to her, he looked up at his father, Edwin, who seemed much better, and said, "Dad, can you do me a favor?"
Edwin could tell Sunny genuinely needed his help and nodded, "Sure, what is it?"
Sunny scratched his head a bit sheepishly and laughed, "If you're feeling a bit better, could you sit on the sofa for a while and let me use the bed?"
He didn't really need the bed anymore.
Moreover, it was clear Sunny was expecting someone important, so Edwin decided to help him out.
"Alright, I'll go sit over there and leave this space for you," Edwin agreed.
With that, he slowly got out of bed.
Sunny felt a bit guilty for making such a request. If Bernard were here, he would definitely call him out on it!
But if he got another room and left Edwin alone here, he wouldn't feel at ease, so this was the only way!
He helped Edwin to the sofa and then quickly ran back to the bed, took off his shoes, lay down, covered himself with the blanket, and put on a slightly pained expression.
Sunny had just laid down when Ambrosia walked in.
She looked a bit rushed, adjusted her slightly crooked gold-rimmed glasses, and looked down at Sunny's twisted face, asking, "How are you feeling?"
Sunny weakly said, "Ambrosia, you're here!"
Ambrosia frowned slightly, hearing his weak voice, and asked, "What happened? Where are you hurt? Let me see."
Sunny pouted like a wronged child, lifted his arm, rolled up his sleeve, and showed her the wound, "It's right here."
Seeing the blood seeping through the bandage, Ambrosia immediately frowned, "Didn't the doctor already treat your wound? Why is it bleeding again?"
Sunny made his voice sound hoarse on purpose, "I don't know, maybe I moved my arm when I called you, and the wound opened up a bit."
Ambrosia looked at him sternly, "Why didn't you use your uninjured arm to make the call?"
Sunny looked aggrieved, "I was in a hurry to call you, I didn't think about it."
A sound from not far away caught Ambrosia's attention. She looked up and saw a middle-aged man sitting on the sofa.
Edwin couldn't help but laugh; he didn't expect his stubborn youngest son, Sunny, to act so dramatically in front of a woman. He should have been an actor!
Ambrosia guessed the middle-aged man's identity from his appearance and felt a bit embarrassed, "You must be Mr. Edwin Mitchell. Sorry, I didn't notice you earlier!"
Edwin waved it off, "It's alright, don't mind me. You two continue talking."
Sunny didn't seem to care that Edwin was watching. He reached out and pulled Ambrosia's hand, continuing his act, "Ambrosia, my wound hurts. Can you rub it for me? It will definitely ease my pain!"
Ambrosia snapped back to reality and looked at Sunny like he was an idiot, "Your wound is torn. How can I rub it? Rubbing will only make it worse!"
Sunny just wanted Ambrosia to feel sorry for him and forgot about the nature of his wound!
Sunny felt a bit embarrassed.
"Then can you blow on it? If you blow on it, I'll feel better!" Sunny whined.
Ambrosia couldn't stand him acting like this in front of his father and whispered, "Behave yourself. Your father is watching! Aren't you ashamed?"
Sunny didn't care, "We're not doing anything! Ambrosia, it really hurts!"
Seeing his tightly furrowed brows and the blood seeping through the bandage, Ambrosia said, "Your wound might have reopened and may need stitches. Stay still, I'll get a doctor to check it."
With that, Ambrosia turned to leave.
Sunny panicked. If Ambrosia called the doctor, his act would be exposed!
He quickly grabbed Ambrosia, "Ambrosia, it's fine! My wound isn't serious, and the doctors are busy! Don't bother them. Just sit with me for a while. Your presence makes me feel much better!"
Ambrosia saw he was using his injured hand to pull her and frowned, "You're still using that hand? If the wound gets worse and gets infected, you'll regret it!"
Sunny knew he wasn't really hurt, so he didn't care, "It's fine, Ambrosia. You worry too much! Don't call the doctor. If you don't want me to move this arm, just sit down and talk to me!"
Ambrosia's eyes paused, noticing something off about Sunny's face. She looked at his bandaged arm again; the red seemed too bright, not like blood.
She almost got fooled by Sunny in her rush!
"Are you sure you're really hurt?"
Sunny's face showed a hint of guilt, "Ambrosia, what are you saying? I'm bleeding; how can it be fake? I'm really hurt and in a lot of pain! Just sit down and talk to me, that's all I need."
