Chapter 750 Maybe It's Him

Perhaps it was because he saw the woman who had taken the wrong child at the auction today. She seemed familiar and didn't look like a bad person.

Trevor's mind conjured up the image of that woman, and he squinted his eyes. "What does your mommy do?"

Speaking of his mommy, George proudly said, "She is amazing! She's a CEO, helping my dad manage the company!"

A strange look flashed in Trevor's eyes. He really didn't see that gentle woman as a CEO. She looked so young and cute; could she really be convincing?

"Didn't you just say you didn't have a dad? How come now you're saying your mommy is helping your dad manage the company?" Trevor asked.

George frowned, his eyes bright, and pouted, "I think you're a bit clueless! Of course, I have a biological dad. How else could my mommy have babies by herself? What I meant is that my dad hasn't been around since I was little. I've never seen what he looks like. Got it?"

Trevor realized that George had put him in his place.

Initially, he didn't think there was anything wrong with his question, but after George's explanation, he felt a bit foolish.

"So where is your dad?" Trevor asked again. He rarely felt curious about others, but today, for some reason, he found himself wanting to know more about the woman.

George's eyes drooped sadly, and he sighed. "My dad is missing! I heard he disappeared on the day my mommy gave birth to me and my sister. Over the years, my mommy has been sending people everywhere to look for him, but there's been no news. Mommy misses Dad a lot. Sometimes my siblings and I hear her talking in her sleep, always calling out 'Alex.'"

"Alex?" Trevor's heart couldn't help but tremble. Hearing the name 'Alex,' he felt a mix of suppression and sadness.

George nodded, "Yeah! And there's almost a ten-year age difference between them!"

Trevor raised an eyebrow, "It sounds like your dad isn't a responsible man, running away at such an important moment when your mommy was giving birth."

George immediately looked a bit unhappy, "Even though I've never seen my dad and don't know what kind of person he is, hearing you talk about him like that makes me a bit upset!"

Seeing George's angry expression, Trevor, who rarely showed any emotion, was actually amused.

"If you've never seen him, why are you defending him? Don't you think he let your mommy down?"

George felt a bit conflicted, thought for a moment, and then seriously said, "I don't know what happened back then, and Mommy won't tell us. But I trust my mommy's judgment. The man she chose must have good character! Otherwise, she wouldn't be so persistent, always waiting for my dad to come back and never considering anyone else!"

Trevor squinted his eyes, "So your mommy has never accepted any other man's advances all these years?"

George nodded firmly, "Right! Mommy is so beautiful, of course, men are interested in her! But she doesn't even consider other men and has been helping my dad manage the company! She says she wants to protect the company my dad left behind!"

Trevor was stunned for a moment, and he couldn't help but feel a bit of admiration for that woman.

'You really can't judge a book by its cover,' he thought. She appeared so gentle, yet she possessed such inner strength.

Despite being abandoned by that man, she maintained such a positive mindset. How much love must she have to be so resilient?

After thinking for a while, Trevor pulled back his inappropriate thoughts and looked at George again, "So when do you plan to switch back with my son?"

George looked at the man, "I still want to experience having a dad for a bit longer. Can you stay with me for a few more days? I promise your son will be well taken care of by my mommy!"

Trevor's eyes darkened, "Why do you want to find the feeling of having a dad in me? I'm just a cripple who can't even stand up. Your dad should be strong and able to carry you on his shoulders."

George tilted his head in frustration, "Don't talk about yourself like that. I think you're very handsome, the most handsome man I've ever seen! Being in a wheelchair doesn't define you, and I know you didn't choose this. But since it happened, it's important to stay positive! My mom always taught me to never put myself down and to always believe that I'm the best!"

As he spoke, George raised his arms and made a strongman pose, showing off his muscles. It was simply too cute!

Trevor couldn't help but chuckle, "Your mommy is very good at educating children."

George proudly raised his chin, "Yeah! My mommy is amazing, the most wonderful person in the world! I'm sure if you met her, you'd love her!"

Trevor frowned slightly. 'Love her? No, I would never fall in love with anyone in this lifetime.'

The doorbell of the suite suddenly rang, and Trevor snapped back to reality, thinking it was Sophia returning from grocery shopping and forgetting her room card.

He lowered his eyes and said very seriously to George, "From now on, you have to keep calling me Daddy. Sophia must not find out you're not Julian, got it?"

George was stunned for a moment, not knowing why, but he obediently nodded, "Okay, got it."

Trevor added, "Alright, if you feel a bit nervous, just keep pretending to sleep!"

George was indeed a bit nervous. If he was found out not to be Julian, continuing to pretend would make him feel even more guilty and unable to act well.

So he listened to Trevor and lay down to continue pretending to sleep.

Seeing George lie down, Trevor looked up and controlled his wheelchair to go open the door.

He raised his hand and opened the door, absentmindedly saying, "Back so soon?"

However, the person standing at the door was not Sophia.

It was a very tall figure, much taller and more robust than Sophia.

Trevor, sitting in his wheelchair, naturally had a lower line of sight than normal people. After opening the door, he didn't look up specifically before speaking.

But he quickly realized something was wrong because he saw the visitor's trousers and shoes.

Trevor's pupils tightened, and he suddenly looked up, seeing a face that was both unfamiliar and somewhat familiar.

The person's eyes were calm as they looked at him, but there seemed to be a hint of malice.

Bernard saw the surprised expression on Trevor's face as he sat in the wheelchair and sneered, "What? Didn't expect me to find you?"
