Chapter 952 It's Good to Be Back
Katherine nodded, "Ms. Adams, I understand!"
She had a rough idea of what to do. In life, people often got stuck in relationships, feeling depressed and regretful for a lifetime.
After all, no one could rationally control their own emotions, including herself.
When she returned to the ward, Claire was indeed already awake.
She got out of bed and covered Linda with the blanket she had kicked off, gently tucking the stray hair behind Linda's ear.
Claire thought that Katherine should have been by her side, carefree, at this age. But Laura suffered because of her wrong judgment.
Claire was feeling sad and very low. When she heard the door of the ward open, she turned her head and saw Katherine, and her dim eyes brightened!
"Laura, you're here!"
Katherine smiled at Claire and then put Charles on the ground, "Charles, be good and go have a sandwich with Ms. Adams!"
Charles was really well-behaved. With Katherine by his side, he wasn't afraid of anything.
After arranging Charles, Katherine walked towards Claire, "Mom, why are you awake so early? Ms. Adams said you didn't sleep well last night!"
Claire forced a light smile at Katherine, "It's nothing, I just had a nightmare, not sleepy anymore."
Katherine didn't ask more for the time being, "Then have something to eat! Ms. Adams bought us sandwiches!"
Claire nodded. She wasn't actually hungry, but having breakfast with Katherine was a rare thing for her, and she was very happy.
There was a small table in the ward, and they all sat around it, except for Linda who was still asleep.
Nora took care of Charles eating the sandwich, giving Katherine time to have a good chat with Claire.
At first, Katherine just urged Claire to eat more and didn't mention anything about the Mitchell family, fearing it would affect Claire's appetite. It wasn't until she saw Claire almost finished her sandwich that she said, "Mom, actually, I've been to the Mitchell villa in the past few years."
Hearing this, Claire's hand holding the sandwich stiffened, and she looked at Katherine with surprise and unease.
She wasn't hungry, but since Katherine told her to eat more, she obediently ate more. While eating, she heard Katherine mention the Mitchell family!

Hearing Edwin's name still made Claire's heart tremble. She frowned and reached out to hold Katherine's hand, "They didn't hurt you, did they?"
Katherine shook her head, "No. Bernard always wanted me to go back to the Mitchell family with him and treated me well. As for Edwin, he also wanted to acknowledge me, but I ignored him."
Confirming that Katherine wasn't targeted by the Mitchell family, Claire seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, "That's good. Bernard has always loved you the most. Mom hopes you and your brother are both well. As for the others, if you don't want to see them, you don't have to."
Katherine responded and then said, "Mom, do you know what flowers are planted in the Mitchell family's garden?"
Surprised that Katherine would mention this, Claire blinked blankly and then shook her head, her tone heavy, "I don't know, and I don't want to know about their family."
Katherine didn't believe Claire's claim of not wanting to know and continued, "The Mitchell family's garden has a particularly beautiful, rare, and difficult-to-cultivate flower called Moonlight."
Hearing this, Claire's pupils suddenly shrank, and she looked at Katherine in shock, "What?"
Katherine continued, "Edwin told me that it was his wife's favorite flower. Over the years, he has almost spent every day in that garden, carefully tending to the flowers, revolving around them. He even ignored his later wife, and they usually shared a room but not a bed."
Claire didn't expect this and looked at Katherine in confusion after the shock, "Laura, why are you telling me this?"
Katherine pursed her lips and said, "Nothing, just sharing what I saw and heard at the Mitchell villa with you! By the way, I also heard that Edwin didn't want to marry his current wife at first. As for their two children, they were conceived through medical means."
Claire's pupils trembled.

Nora noticed the positive change in Claire's mood and smiled with relief.

When Katherine came out of Claire's ward holding Charles, she saw a long-unseen figure.
"Ms. Galatea, Mr. Melville asked me to come here to accompany you and Charles." Leander stepped forward and said respectfully.
He was still the same as many years ago.
But three years ago, Leander and Alex disappeared together, and Katherine thought he had been killed by Sophia's people!

Katherine raised her hand and patted his shoulder, "It's good to have you back! You've had a hard time!"
