Chapter 415 Scarlett Has Changed!
Scarlett didn't give up. "Billy, just let me in for a minute. I'll talk to Katherine and leave. Bernard won't know! Even if he does, I won't let him blame you!"
Billy stayed firm. "Sorry, I can't go against Mr. Mitchell's orders. You should go be with Charles."
Billy was just Bernard's lackey, a servant of the Mitchell family. How dare he block her, the esteemed Ms. Mitchell?
Already frustrated that Bernard wouldn't deal with Katherine, Scarlett lost her temper at Billy's stubbornness. She glared at him, "Move. I want to go in!"
"Ms. Mitchell?" Billy was shocked. Scarlett was always gentle and understanding. This side of her was new to him.
Just then, the door opened, and Katherine stepped out.
Seeing the door open, Scarlett forced a smile. "Katherine, you opened the door for me, right? Billy wouldn't let me in. So annoying!"
Katherine glanced at Scarlett, ignored her, and looked at Billy with a faint smile. "Billy."
Billy still blocked Scarlett, turned slightly, and asked respectfully, "Ms. Galatea, do you need anything?"
Katherine yawned. "I'm a bit thirsty."
Billy responded, "I'll have someone bring you some water right away."
Katherine nodded. "I want warm water with a slice of fresh lemon, please."
"Got it. Someone will clean up the broken glass in the room shortly. Please be careful."
Katherine acknowledged and stepped back into the room, closing the door.
Seeing the door close, Scarlett tried to push past Billy. "Katherine!"
But Billy blocked her, shutting the door behind her.
This was her home, yet her subordinate was blocking her. What kind of nonsense was this?
That bitch Katherine had already taken Alex from her, and now she wanted to take over the Mitchell family too? Shameless!
Billy stayed by the door and called Finn, asking him to send up lemon water for Ms. Galatea and clean up the broken glass.
Scarlett couldn't stand seeing Katherine comfortably resting in Laura's room. "Billy, let me in to keep Katherine company. She must be so bored alone!"
Billy shook his head. "Ms. Mitchell, you saw it yourself. She doesn't need you right now. Let the guest rest."
Scarlett frowned. "Billy, why do you only care about Katherine's needs and not mine?"
Billy replied, "Mr. Mitchell said Ms. Galatea is Mr. Vincent Mitchell's savior and should get the best hospitality."
"You just side with outsiders! One day, I'll have Bernard fire you!"
Agitated and unable to control herself, Scarlett glared at Billy and stormed off.
Billy was stunned by Scarlett's aggressive behavior. What was up with her today? Was this really the gentle, understanding Scarlett he knew?
Scarlett was fuming. Katherine had taken the man she wanted since childhood, and now even Bernard, who always doted on her, was siding with Katherine. How did things get so messed up?
Bernard had always supported her and disliked Katherine!
When Scarlett got to Charles's room, he had just woken up, and the nanny was feeding him.
As soon as Charles saw her, he clung to the nanny, trembling.
Already in a bad mood, Scarlett felt even worse seeing him act like that!
She walked over and extended her hand to the nanny. "Give him to me. You can leave; I'll feed him!"
The nanny hesitated but handed the small bowl of pasta to Scarlett. She pried Charles's hands off her and placed him in the crib before leaving.
Charles watched the nanny leave, reaching out for her, but she was gone.
Now it was just the two of them.
Scarlett smiled brightly. "Come on, Charles, be good. Mommy will feed you."
Charles looked at her, trembling. He was scared Mommy would get angry again.
But seeing her kind smile, he remembered the warmth she showed when she first took him from the orphanage. He blinked and slowly relaxed, trying to accept her closeness again.
Scarlett scooped a big spoonful of pasta and fed it to Charles. "Eat! Eat more! Eat!"
Charles's mouth was suddenly filled with hot pasta, and he couldn't swallow it!
The pasta was too hot, and he instinctively spat it out.
This made Scarlett furious. "Who told you to spit it out? Kids shouldn't waste food! Now eat it!"
She scooped another big spoonful and tried to feed him, but Charles, afraid of the heat, refused to open his mouth.
Scarlett pinched his cheeks, pried his mouth open, and shoved the hot pasta in. The more he resisted, the harder she pushed, eventually dumping the whole bowl into his mouth!
Charles cried in fear, struggling and knocking over the bowl, choking and vomiting on the pasta.
Scarlett saw the broken bowl and got even angrier. "Crying again! I'm your mother, and you cry when you see me!”
“You ungrateful child, if I hadn't adopted you and made you a Mitchell, you'd still be in that lousy orphanage, starving!”
“This is the blessing I've given you, and you don't even appreciate it!"
Charles's mouth was swollen from the heat. After coughing and vomiting the pasta, he burst into tears, his terrified cries echoing through the room.
