Chapter 1017 She Is My Wife
The script for this play was personally overseen by him, and the Christina in front of him seemed to have walked straight out of the script as the female lead.
Curtis believed that even if she was an inexperienced actress, she could still embody the essence of the female lead.
"I hope I won't disappoint you," Christina said, turning to look at Bernard beside her with a look of unfamiliarity. "Who is this?"
Bernard was about to explain his purpose for being there today, but he didn't expect her to say, "Who is this?" which made his face stiffen.
Not only was Bernard stunned, but so was Curtis.
When he first entered the industry, no one paid attention to him. Bernard was the first to invest in him, and it was because of Bernard's investment that he was able to make his first film and subsequently a series of films.
To Curtis, Bernard was like a benefactor who recognized his potential. Although they hadn't kept in touch much over the years, they could still be considered friends!
Bernard had come early this morning, and it was his first time coming to Curtis's company on his own initiative.
"Christina is my wife."
As soon as Bernard said this, Curtis immediately understood his purpose. "When did you get married?"

Christina nodded and politely addressed Bernard, "Mr. Mitchell."
She was really planning to pretend not to know him completely.
Bernard sighed helplessly, "Ms. Russell."
Since she didn't want to reveal her identity as his wife in front of others, he would play along and see how long she could keep up the act.
Fortunately, Curtis already knew her identity and would take good care of her in the crew. Bernard's purpose for coming was achieved.
Curtis led Christina to the contract and had her sit down. "I personally oversaw this contract. Everything promised to you is written here. With it documented, you can be more assured."
Christina could see that Curtis genuinely wanted her to play the role of Valeria Song.
The contract was very detailed, and everything Curtis had verbally promised her before was now written into clauses in the contract.
Once the clauses were written into the contract, they had legal effect.
"So if my performance doesn't meet your requirements, is it considered a breach of contract?" Christina came to act to make money, not to lose it.
Curtis turned to the second-to-last page of the contract. "It's written here; it won't be considered a breach of contract."
"Okay, then I'll sign the contract." Christina picked up the pen, but her gaze unconsciously turned to Bernard. She had never signed a contract before, but Bernard had.
Receiving her gaze, Bernard understood she was asking if she could sign, so he nodded.
With Bernard's approval, Christina smiled and signed her name on the contract.
Virginia had been sitting at the door for a long time without seeing Christina come out. Plus, her agent had already urged her once, so she couldn't wait any longer and walked towards Curtis's office.
"Ms. Pearl, Mr. Caldwell is still meeting guests; you can't go in." Seeing her about to barge in, the assistant quickly stepped in to stop her.
Virginia had never been treated like this before, and her face immediately darkened. "I've been waiting outside for a long time. I have other appointments later. I just need to say a few words to Mr. Caldwell."
Saying this, Virginia ignored the assistant's obstruction and directly pushed open the office door and walked in.
When she entered, she saw Christina signing the contract. The distance was a bit far, so she couldn't see what was written on the contract in front of Christina.
"Virginia, what brings you here?" Curtis was a bit surprised to see Virginia.
She had indeed expressed her desire to play the role of Valeria Song before, but her image was too mature and didn't fit the lively and active character of the female lead, so Curtis had refused.

"It's about Valeria Song; I have some ideas I want to discuss with you." Virginia smiled and turned to Christina. "Ms. Russell, weren't you here for a job interview? Shouldn't you be with HR? Why are you still here?"
Christina glanced at Curtis and then at Bernard.
Seeing Bernard here had already made her a bit disappointed, and now being questioned by Virginia made her even more uncomfortable. So she decided not to hide it anymore. "I'm signing a contract to act in a film directed by Mr. Caldwell; it's part of my job."
"What?" Virginia had a vague sense of foreboding. Her gaze fell on the contract in Christina's hand. "Ms. Russell, you said you're going to act?"
