Chapter 625 Won't Do Anything to You
Fiona realized that dropping Charles' name wasn't cutting it, so she latched onto Katherine's arm like a lifeline. "No way. You're not going anywhere."
Katherine was about to lose it. "Let go, or I swear I'll deck you."
Fiona stood her ground. "Do it! Even if you beat me to a pulp, I'm not letting you leave!"
Katherine hesitated, seeing Fiona's stubbornness. "Is everyone in the Melville family nuts?"
Right then, Teresa and Anthony showed up.
Teresa sighed, looking at Fiona's defiance. "Katherine, Fiona just wants you to stay. Why not go back and talk to Alex? There's gotta be some misunderstanding."
Katherine shot Teresa a look and shoved Fiona towards her. "Take her back to Alex. I don't have time for Melville family drama."
A pink car rolled up, and Katherine hopped into the passenger seat.
The window slid down, revealing Frank's grinning face. He looked at Teresa. "Don't worry, I'll take good care of her."
Teresa's heart skipped a beat seeing Frank and she nodded awkwardly. "Okay."
Frank glanced at Anthony and after a moment, said, "If you're worried, why not come with us?"
Teresa hesitated. 'Katherine's got a lot on her mind. Maybe I can help sort things out with Alex.' She turned to Anthony. "Anthony, head back to the office. I'll go with Mr. Perez to take Katherine home."
Anthony didn't like it, but since Frank was his boss, he couldn't argue.
Teresa got into Frank's car, and Fiona tried to follow. "Wait, I'm coming too."
But Frank had already locked the doors. Fiona couldn't get in and started fuming. "Open the door! You hear me?"
Ignoring her, Frank looked at Anthony. "Help me move Ms. Melville aside."
Anthony snapped out of it. "Yes, sir! Ms. Melville, you can't stand so close to the car; it's about to move, and it's dangerous."
Fiona yelled, "Get off me! Don't touch me!"
After Anthony dragged Fiona away, Frank hit the gas and took off.
Fiona was livid and kicked at Frank's car, but her shoe flew off, making her even more pissed.
In the car, Katherine sat quietly in the passenger seat, eyes closed, deep in thought.
Teresa leaned forward from the back seat. "Katherine, Alex..."
Katherine didn't open her eyes and said flatly, "Call me Katherine again, and I'll throw you out of the car."
Teresa had never seen Katherine like this and immediately shut up.
Seeing Teresa's scared face in the rearview mirror, Frank almost burst out laughing.
Soon enough, they rolled up to the place.
As soon as they got inside, Katherine flopped onto the sofa. She hadn't been home in six months, and the cat was all over her, purring and rubbing against her.
Frank headed to the kitchen, heated up a cup of milk, and brought it out. "Katherine, want some hot milk?"
Katherine nodded but didn't touch the milk. She just lazily held the cat, lost in her thoughts.
It was Teresa's first time here, and she looked around. Seeing Katherine snuggling with the cat, she got worried. "Katherine, you're pregnant. Shouldn't you avoid getting too close to animals?"
Katherine shot her a look. "Mind your own business."
'Katherine's never been like this with me. She must be lumping me in with Alex and taking it out on me too,' Teresa thought.
Frank brought out some washed fruit and placed it on the table, then smiled at the uneasy Teresa. "It's cool. The cat gets regular check-ups and deworming. No worries."
Teresa nodded. "That's good then."
Teresa had come to talk some sense into Katherine, but seeing how resistant she was, she didn't dare bring up Alex.
Frank turned on the TV and played some prenatal music. He also covered Katherine with a blanket and then turned to Teresa, raising an eyebrow and whispering, "Come with me. Let's give Katherine some quiet time."
Teresa nodded and followed Frank inside, not expecting him to take her to his bedroom. She thought he’d take her to the study or the home gym. Seeing the big bed in the room, she realized it was the bedroom.
Teresa felt awkward, not knowing whether to stand or sit.
Frank handed her a bottle of Coke. "Make yourself at home."
Teresa woodenly took the Coke but didn't sit down.
Frank's bedroom wasn't very big, with just a bed and a low beanbag chair. Teresa felt out of place no matter where she sat.
Frank opened a can of beer, took a sip, and leaned against the cabinet, smiling at Teresa. "What are you afraid of? "
Teresa was a bit upset and stood even straighter. "I just can't find a place to sit. Mr. Perez, it's not appropriate for you to bring a girl into your bedroom. Let's talk somewhere else."
Frank shrugged indifferently. "There's nothing inappropriate about it. I won't do anything to you."
Teresa blushed with embarrassment. "I didn't think you would. I just feel it's inappropriate to be in your bedroom."
Frank took a big gulp of beer, walked over to her, and smiled down at her. "What's inappropriate? No one else will know."
Teresa stepped back. "Katherine is right outside."
"She's not an outsider."
"Even if she's not, it's still not okay. I have a boyfriend, and he wouldn't be happy knowing I was in another man's bedroom. I'm leaving." Teresa's heart raced when she faced Frank.
