Chapter 138 The Moonlight Is Beautiful Tonight

On the other side of the sky, a pristine full moon lay quietly in the night sky as if the brilliance and clamor on the other side had nothing to do with it.

Katherine took out her phone, snapped a photo of the moon, and posted it on her social media: [The moonlight is beautiful.]

Just a few seconds after posting, a friend with the nickname [S] liked her post and commented below: [Yes, I think so too.]

Katherine didn't remember having this friend on her social account, so she clicked on the friend's profile picture to take a look. It was a photo of a girl smiling at the camera, looking serene and peaceful.

After browsing through the content she had posted, Katherine deduced that this person must be Scarlett, and this was Scarlett's social account.

It was then that Katherine realized she was using Alex's phone, logging into Alex's social account, and posting on Alex's social media.

She had posted it casually without noticing it wasn't her account.

Oh well, no big deal.

It was just a photo of the moonlight, nothing much.

Katherine logged out of the social app and made a phone call, which was answered immediately.

She calmly instructed, "Frank, come pick me up at Whispering Ripple."

"Yes, Katherine!" Frank said.

After hanging up, Katherine got up and threw the Coke bottle into a nearby trash can, then strolled across the street to wait for Frank's car.

As she walked, she saw an elderly blind man blocked by an SUV.

Sandra, holding a white cane, was fumbling around the side of the car, moving left and right, but kept encountering obstacles!

He was so anxious that his brows furrowed, unsure of what was blocking his way.

Katherine looked down and saw that the SUV was parked on the tactile paving.

Parking like this was really inconsiderate!

Katherine walked over. "Sir, there's a car parked on the tactile paving in front of you, and the owner isn't around to move it. How about this: tell me where you want to go, and I can guide you."

To her surprise, the old man turned out to have a fiery temper. Upon hearing that a car was blocking the tactile paving, Sandra raised his white cane and struck the car hard!

The car window cracked on the spot!

Katherine was dumbfounded, her mouth twitching in disbelief.

What a violent old man!

After hitting the car, the elderly man planted his cane on the ground and angrily said, "Hmph! Jerk! How could he park on the tactile paving! I'll smash his car to teach him a lesson. Let's see if he dares to park like this again!"

Katherine had to admit the older man's approach seemed reasonable, but smashing the car was a bit excessive. She helplessly advised, "Sir, don't get too worked up; maybe the owner had an emergency and didn't notice."

The elderly blind man was dismissive. "That doesn't justify the act of parking on the tactile paving! People nowadays only care about their convenience, ignoring others' needs!"

That was indeed the case. Katherine sighed and was about to help him around the obstructing SUV, when a sharp voice suddenly shouted, "Hey! What are you doing?"

Katherine turned her head at the sound and saw a young girl with purple hair, holding a selfie stick, running over angrily.

The girl first looked at her cracked car window, then she questioned them with a terrible attitude and some foul language,"Damn it! Why did you smash my car?"

Katherine had noticed this purple-haired girl earlier while sitting by Whispering Ripple.

She seemed to be a blogger.

At that time, she was taking advantage of the luxurious scenery by Whispering Ripple, live streaming with her phone, chatting with her followers in a high-pitched voice, and asking for gifts.

The elderly blind man became even more furious upon hearing the girl's foul language and stopped in his tracks.

Although Sandra couldn't see, his hearing was sharp. He turned his head in the direction of the girl's voice. "Are you the owner of this car?"

The girl arrogantly crossed her arms. "Yes! This is my newly bought SUV. If I told you the price, it would scare you to death—seventy thousand dollars! I saw everythingjust now. It was you who smashed my car! You bastard! If you know what's good for you, pay up!"

The elderly man righteously said, "You've come at just the right time for me to teach you a lesson! Don't park on the tactile paving. No matter how expensive your car is, if it's parked on the tactile paving, it deserves to be smashed!"

The blogger didn't think she was in the wrong at all and retorted, "It's my car; I can park it wherever I want. Tactile paving or not, I don't care! Does the road have your name on it? Mind your own business!"

The elderly man was taken aback by her unreasonable attitude, and he was so angry that he started to pant. "How did your parents raise you? Did they teach you to behave like this in society?"

Katherine saw that the older man was getting too emotional and worried about his health, so she supported him and patted his back to help him calm down.

Then, she said to the girl, "You need to calm down too. Regardless, you shouldn't have parked your car on the tactile paving. It's illegal."

The blogger sneered, "Illegal? Then why haven't I seen any traffic police come to deal with me? Who are you anyway? Do you think you have the right to tell me what to do?"

The old man couldn't take it anymore. He gently pulled the kind young woman, Katherine, behind him to protect her, then raised his white cane and said to the rude girl, "Move your car off the tactile paving right now, and I won't hold it against you today! Otherwise..."

"Otherwise, what?" The internet scoffed as she rolled her eyes. "Who are you trying to scare? I'm not moving it; let's see what you can do, you old blind idiot!"

The elderly man became agitated and raised his white cane to teach the rude girl a lesson. "If your parents didn't teach you how to behave, then I will!"

The situation escalated quickly, and Katherine couldn't stop Sandra in time.

But the blogger, having good eyesight, easily dodged the older man's cane and then viciously pushed him to the ground!

"You idiot, are you trying to hit me? Do you know who I am? I have 300,000 followers! Who do you think you are?" that girl retorted.

Seeing this, Katherine quickly stepped forward, squatted down, and helped Sandra up. "Sir, are you okay?"

Fortunately, the old man wasn't injured but was quite shaken and breathing heavily. Katherine had only been passing by and didn't want to get involved in trouble, but when she encountered such a despicable jerk, she couldn't just stand by and do nothing.

She looked up coldly at the girl. "You better not go too far. Move your car."
