Chapter 766 Psychological Intervention
Ambrosia adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses. 'Is she trying to set Katherine up with a man?'
Teresa walked up and ruffled Edith's little head, "Alright, Edith, we'll pick someone out and introduce a handsome guy to your mommy, okay?"
Edith tilted her little head, "Okay! But he has to be more handsome than Uncle Bernard, or he won't be good enough for my mommy!"
The three women were all amused by Edith.
Teresa promised confidently, "Alright! We'll do our best to find one!"
Fiona tugged on Teresa's sleeve, pulling her aside and whispering, "Where are we going to find one? I don't think there's a man more handsome than Alex in this world!"
Teresa gave Fiona a helpless look, "Do you know how to humor a child? Besides, even if we did introduce a man to Katherine now, she wouldn't accept him!"
Fiona thought about it and then nodded, rubbing her chin, "But I think what Katherine really needs right now is a reliable psychologist. I'm more worried about her mental health."
Teresa said, "A psychologist? I do know one, and he's a really good person."
Fiona said excitedly, "Whether he's a good person is secondary. The main thing is, is he professional enough?"
Teresa nodded, "He's quite a renowned psychologist in the field."
Fiona said, "That's great! Introduce him to Katherine and have him do some counseling for her. I don't want her bottling up her feelings!"
Teresa shrugged, "I can introduce them, that's easy. But counseling isn't as simple as you think. She needs to genuinely accept the psychologist and open up."
Fiona crossed her arms, "We should at least try! Just introduce him as a friend to Katherine. Let them chat casually at first; it might help."
At this moment, Katherine came downstairs after changing her clothes. She sat on the sofa and took a sip of the water the maid handed her.
Then, she lazily looked up at Edith, who was chatting and acting cute with Ambrosia, and Charles, who was sitting quietly watching Edith.
Julian sat timidly next to Charles. When he saw Katherine come down, he immediately clung to her like a shy but affectionate kitten.
Katherine sighed softly and pulled Julian closer to her, feeling a bit worried about the child's personality.
Under Fiona's prompting, Teresa moved over to sit next to Katherine and started the conversation. "Katherine, you don't seem to be in a good mood today?"
Katherine gave a slight smile, "No, why do you ask?"
Teresa frowned with some concern, "You don't look well. Did something happen? If there's something wrong, you can tell us. We can share the burden together!"
Katherine squinted her eyes slightly.
Something did happen. She saw Alex, who had disappeared for three years, living with another woman today.
But she hadn't had a direct conversation with Alex yet, and the specifics were still unclear.
If it were just Ambrosia, she might discuss it, but telling Fiona and Teresa, who couldn't keep secrets, would only complicate things.
"Nothing happened, just busy with work and a bit tired," she said casually.
Teresa pouted and crossed her arms, "Katherine, if you're tired, you shouldn't go to work! You're a woman with three kids; why take on so much pressure?"
Katherine took a sip of water, "I'm still getting used to it since I just took over. It'll get better once this busy period is over."
Teresa felt both heartache and indignation for Katherine. At this moment, Fiona nudged Teresa, reminding her to get to the point.
Teresa then shifted the topic, "Katherine, I have a friend who's really nice and is an excellent psychologist. If you have time this weekend, would you like to go to his office with me for a chat?"
Katherine raised an eyebrow, "Why did you think of introducing a psychologist to me?"
Teresa grinned, "Because he is very handsome and gentle. When I'm in a bad mood, I go to him, and my mood brightens up immediately!"
Katherine didn't think she needed a psychologist, but she thought of George.
Ever since she scolded him for running off that day, he hadn't been in a good state. Maybe he needed a psychologist's intervention.
Thinking of this, Katherine nodded, "Alright, this weekend, if I have time, I'll go with you to meet your friend and see if he's as handsome as you say!"
"Great! Let's set a time for the weekend!" Teresa said with a satisfied smile, exchanging a knowing glance with Fiona. Their goal was achieved.
After chatting with Teresa for a while downstairs, Katherine finished her glass of water. She put down the glass and said to Ambrosia, who was holding Edith, "Ambrosia, hand Edith over to Fiona for a bit and come upstairs with me.."
Ambrosia cooperated fully, coaxing Edith to go play with Fiona for a while, then followed Katherine upstairs.
In Katherine's room, Ambrosia closed the door consciously and asked, "Katherine, is there something you need to tell me?"
Katherine didn't speak immediately. She walked slowly to the floor-to-ceiling window in the bedroom and stood there, looking up at the night sky outside.
"Ambrosia, you, Frank, and I have known each other since we were kids. We've been through a lot to get to where we are today. We can say we're the most trusted people to each other, right?" Katherine asked.
Ambrosia stood next to Katherine and answered confidently, "Of course."
Katherine gave a faint smile, "But you two conspired with others to deceive me!"
Ambrosia was taken aback, "Katherine."
Katherine said, "I gave birth to three children back then, but all of you told me it was twins! For three years, I was the only one who didn't know I had lost a child!"
Ambrosia lowered her head in shame, "I'm sorry, Katherine. Back then, Mr. Melville's disappearance had already made you very sad. We were afraid that knowing you lost a child would be too much for you to handle."
