Chapter 178 Everything About Her Was Exposed
Jackie, on the other end of the phone, didn't get any response and started to feel strange. "Hello? Why is there no sound? Can you hear me? Alex, say something!"
Katherine was at a loss of words.
Say what? Say that she wasn't his adorable grandson, but rather the 'scammer' he mentioned?
Katherine hesitated about how to respond to Jackie when she suddenly heard Sandra's voice on the other end. "Jackie, who told you to call Alex? You've just taken your medicine and can't sit still. Give it to me, give me the phone!"
Then, Katherine heard Jackie struggle for a moment before Sandra took the phone.
Sandra asked directly, "Alex, there's a serious rumor about Katherine. What's going on exactly?"
Hearing Sandra's questioning, Katherine sighed helplessly. She was about to explain the whole situation.
However, before she could speak, Sandra sternly scolded, "Alex, what did I tell you before I left? Didn't I say you must take care of Katherine and treat her well? And now you've let her be maliciously slandered online? Is this how you act as a husband?"
Katherine was stunned. The words she was about to say were swallowed back.
Sandra actually believed she was being slandered and unconditionally stood up for her against Alex. Did Sandra not suspect her at all?
To be honest, she and Sandra hadn't spent much time together. Even if Sandra had suspected her now, she wouldn't have felt anything about it.
Sandra's clear stance in supporting her was quite surprising and touching.
Katherine spoke up, "Grandma, this is Katherine."
Hearing Katherine's voice, Sandra was a bit surprised. "Katherine, it's you! Wait, were you the one who answered the phone just now?"
"Yes, Grandma," answered she.
Sandra asked, "So, you heard what Jackie said just now?"
Katherine smiled and responded, "Yes, I heard it."
Sandra awkwardly coaxed, "Katherine, don't take what Jackie said to heart. Your grandpa is just getting old and doesn't understand the situation!"
Katherine answered, "Well, don't worry. Grandma, I understand."
Katherine didn't care about Jackie's attitude at all. She didn't know Jackie, so naturally, she wouldn't care about his opinion.
Sandra breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good. I knew you are an reasonable child!"
Katherine curiously asked, "Grandma, how come you didn't doubt me at all after seeing that bad news about me online?"
Sandra dismissed it. "Doubt you about what? Does Alex's wife need to extort some tens of thousands of dollars for a cheap car? Grandma's not as foolish as Jackie. That kind of thing is obviously fake news!"
Katherine genuinely laughed. "Haha, Grandma, you're truly wise!"
Receiving her granddaughter-in-law's praise, Sandra was delighted. "Of course! But, Katherine, actually, I wish you like money!"
Katherine was confused.
Sandra explained worriedly, "Because our Melville family is loaded, and Alex is even more loaded. If you liked money, then Alex would be just right for you! I'm just afraid you don't like anything and might despise Alex for being a cold, unfeeling man..."
Katherine was surprised that Sandra understood her so well and believed in her character!
However, Sandra still overestimated her. How could she not like money?

At this moment, someone sent a video call on the social software on her computer, and the chat window popped up automatically.
It was Sherry!
Looking at the computer, Katherine squinted her eyes.
Since she found out she had no blood relation to the Galatea family, she hadn't contacted them.

Why was Sherry calling her now? What did she want?
After thinking for a moment, Katherine answered Sherry's video call but didn't turn on her camera, only watching the other side.

Katherine was momentarily stunned. Had the Galatea family's address been exposed so quickly?
