Chapter 593 Cried
Ambrosia squinted at Frank's phone, which was on silent. A call was coming in, and it was Sunny. Wide awake now, she felt a bit ticked off.
"Why don't you just turn it off?" Ambrosia snapped.
Frank shrugged, looking helpless. "Sunny said if I turn it off, it means I'm hiding something. Then he'll call the cops and say I kidnapped you and won't let you answer the phone."
Ambrosia grabbed Frank's phone and headed back to her room. Seeing the number pop up again, she leaned against the headboard, pinching her brow as she answered.
Sunny said, "Frank! I've found out everything. They all say you and Ambrosia are living together! If you don't let her answer the phone, I'll call the cops, believe it or not!"
Ambrosia spoke coldly, "Go ahead and try calling the cops."
Sunny's voice on the other end paused, then got louder. "Ambrosia! You finally answered! I was so worried!"
Ambrosia replied, annoyed, "What are you worried about?"
Sunny stammered. "I don't know, I just worry when I can't reach you."
Ambrosia couldn't stand him. "Sunny, before I met you, I was fine every day. After meeting you, I'm still fine. You don't need to worry, and stop bugging my friends, okay?"
Sunny gasped, his voice shaky but still with that childish tone. "Okay. I didn't mean to bug your friend! Katherine has been answering your phone these past two days, and Bernard won't let me out to find you, so I got anxious."
Ambrosia suddenly sat up straight. "What did you just say? Katherine answered my phone?"
Sunny nodded honestly. "Yeah, she did! It freaked me out. How did your phone end up with her?"
Ambrosia asked with a stern face, "After she answered, what did you say to her?"
Sunny replied, "Nothing much."
"Tell me exactly what you said," Ambrosia demanded.
"I didn't expect her to answer. I just said we had sex and that you should take responsibility."
Ambrosia covered her forehead in exasperation. "And what did she say?"
Sunny's voice trembled. "She asked when we had sex."
Ambrosia asked, "How did you answer?"
Sunny answered honestly, "I didn't dare to answer. I remember you told me not to let Katherine know about us, so I just hung up."
Ambrosia rubbed her temples, thinking, 'What's the point of hanging up after spilling the beans? Katherine knowing Sunny and I had sex will definitely make her unhappy, right?'
"Alright! Go to sleep early. Don't call me unless it's important. I don't have time to play with you!" After saying this, Ambrosia was about to hang up when she heard Sunny's trembling voice. "I'm outside, I can't sleep. It's so cold."
Ambrosia's hand, which was about to press the hang-up button, stopped. She frowned and asked, "It's so late, why aren't you home? What are you doing outside?"
Sunny replied pitifully, "Frank wouldn't let you answer the phone, and I was so worried. I snuck out when Bernard's people weren't looking to find you. I didn't bring any money, and my phone is almost dead. Ambrosia, can you come pick me up?"
Ambrosia felt a wave of irritation. "I'm not coming to get you. Go home yourself!"
Sunny whined, "I'm scared to go home. Bernard was in a really bad mood today. If I go back, I'll definitely get beaten! And I don't have money for a cab."
Ambrosia really wanted to kick Sunny. "Where are you now? I'll send someone to find you and give you some money. Go home in the morning!"
Sunny stubbornly said, "No! I don't want anyone else to pick me up! I want you! If you don't come, I'll just freeze to death here!"
Ambrosia curled her lips. "Then freeze to death!"
With that, she hung up the phone decisively, feeling annoyed.
Penniless, Sunny was trying to keep warm in the underground passage of the Crescent Group. It had been too cold lately, and he had forgotten to wear a coat when he ran out of the house.
Hearing the merciless busy tone on the phone, Sunny was furious but still called back. Unfortunately, before the call could connect, his phone died.
'Now no one will care about me! Damn it!' he thought.
Sunny put his phone back in his pocket, rubbing his arms and hopping around to keep warm.
There was a street performer playing guitar nearby, so he walked over to listen to the music, hoping it would help him feel a bit warmer.
He found a clean spot next to the guitarist and sat down, hugging his arms and crying pitifully.
He didn't even know why he was crying. Maybe the guitarist's song was just too beautiful. The lyrics of the love song were sad and fitting, making him feel very emotional.
'In my eighteen years of life, I have only ever felt humiliated in front of Bernard. Everywhere else, I have never been so despised! Ambrosia, that awful woman, has been the one to flirt with me first, and now she is ignoring me! So infuriating! But I can't help but think about Ambrosia. Even if she doesn't want to talk to me, I still want to see her. Just hearing her voice will make me happy.' The more Sunny thought about it, the more upset he became. He wiped his tears with his arm, arrogantly refusing to let them fall.
He thought no one would see him like this, but he didn't realize that his spot was right in the street performer's live stream camera, capturing his crying face clearly and even boosting the performer's stream's popularity.
The live stream's comments were no longer about the music but focused on the crying handsome guy in the background.
[That guy looks so pitiful! Did he get dumped?]
[Even such a handsome guy can get dumped?]
[ Everything will be fine. Don't cry.]
[He's my type! I wonder which girl made him cry.]
