Chapter 754 A Fight Broke Out

Sunny replied, "Because she's with me right now!"

Katherine had a vague suspicion, "Let her answer the phone!"

There was a moment of silence on Sunny's end, "She's probably not available right now, Katherine! I'll come to the Melville Mansion to see you and the kids tomorrow. Let's leave it at that for now."

Hearing the busy tone from the other end, Katherine twitched her lips. 'Sunny, that jerk!'

"Mommy."

Suddenly, Charles's voice came from behind.

Katherine put away her phone and turned around. Charles walked in with a worried look.

"What's wrong, Charles?"

Charles furrowed his brows deeply and said, "Mommy, George and Edith are fighting. I tried to stop them, but I couldn't. Aunt Fiona is trying to handle it, but I think you should take a look."

Katherine found it extremely strange. George and Edith had never fought since they were little. What happened today?

"Where are they now?" Katherine asked.

Charles took Katherine's hand. "They're in Aunt Fiona's room. Aunt Fiona is really mad and is giving them a serious scolding! Mom, hurry up. I'm worried George and Edith might start crying because of Aunt Fiona's yelling."

With doubts in her mind, Katherine followed Charles to Fiona's room.

In Fiona's room, Julian and Edith were standing with their arms crossed, ignoring each other.

Fiona had her hands on her hips, scolding them, "You two are siblings. How could you hit each other so hard? Hug and make up, and I won't tell your mom!"

She continued, "You two fighting each other? What kind of behavior is that? You both deserve a good scolding! I should tell your mom and let her teach you a lesson!"

Hearing that Fiona was going to tell Katherine, Julian and Edith immediately got scared. They almost simultaneously grabbed Fiona's clothes and said in unison, "Aunt Fiona, please don't tell Mommy."

Fiona thought, 'That's more like it!'

"I already know."

Katherine's voice suddenly rang out.

Julian and Edith froze and turned to Katherine.

When did Mommy get here?

Seeing Katherine's stern face, Fiona knew things were not looking good and said, "Katherine, don't be mad! I've already given them a good talking-to. They know they were wrong, right?"

As she spoke, she lowered her head and gave the two kids a look, signaling them to show some remorse.

Receiving Fiona's hint, even though they were still angry, they had to pretend to admit their mistakes.

"Mommy, we know we were wrong!"

"Mommy, we know we were wrong!"

Katherine just squinted at them, who had really gone at it!

Julian had three scratch marks on his face, and Edith's left eye was swollen.

"You two, come with me."

Katherine said this calmly, but it made Julian and Edith very scared.

The calmer Katherine was, the angrier she seemed, which was scarier than if she had just scolded them outright.

Katherine turned and walked out.

Julian and Edith looked up, casting a pleading glance at Fiona.

Fiona could also see that Katherine was angry. Since Katherine was going to discipline the kids, she couldn't interfere. She shrugged helplessly at Julian and Edith.

"Your mommy already knows. I can't help you now! Go on, face the music!"

With no other choice, Julian and Edith followed Katherine out of Fiona's room, looking dejected.

Katherine took the three kids back to her bedroom, sat on the couch, and looked at them with an unreadable expression.

Then, she patted the spot next to her and said to Charles, "Charles, come here. This doesn't concern you."

Charles glanced at Julian and Edith, feeling a bit sorry for them but also helpless. Then he obediently sat next to Katherine.

Katherine looked at Julian and Edith and asked, "Tell me, why were you fighting?"

The two kids both pressed their lips together, neither willing to speak first.

Katherine raised an eyebrow, "Not talking?"

Under Katherine's pressuring gaze, Julian said, "Mommy, she hit me first, so I hit back."

Edith shook her head, "Mommy, he stepped on my doll first. I just pushed him away!"

"I didn't mean to step on it, but you pushed me to the ground!"

"You shouldn't have stepped on my doll!"

George and Edith started arguing again.

Katherine frowned, her brow showing a hint of irritation, "Enough!"

This stern shout immediately quieted them.

They stood up straight, trembling as they looked at Katherine.

Katherine pinched the bridge of her nose, "I thought it was something serious. Turns out it was just over something so trivial?"

She said unhappily, "You're siblings. Is it necessary to fight over such a small thing? And you even hurt each other?"

Seeing her displeased look, Julian felt a bit sad, "Mommy, don't be mad. I know I was wrong."

Katherine asked him, "What did you do wrong?"

Julian replied, "I shouldn't have fought with Edith. I should have let her have her way."

Katherine then looked at Edith, "And you? Do you know what you did wrong?"

Edith glared at Julian and then looked back at Katherine, "I don't think I did anything wrong!"

Seeing Edith so stubborn, Katherine's brow furrowed, "You mean to say, you scratched your brother's face, and you don't think you did anything wrong?"

Edith raised her chin and said, "He's not my brother!"

As soon as she said this, Katherine and Charles looked surprised, and Julian blinked unnaturally, deliberately avoiding everyone's gaze.

Katherine squinted and looked closely at Julian but didn't notice anything unusual. She then looked back at Edith, "How is he not your brother? You were born on the same day, grew up together, and are almost always together. Why suddenly not recognize him as your brother?"
