Before revealing the true mastermind, Ethan first bowed deeply towards Katherine and apologized with guilt. "Ms. Galatea, I'm really sorry. I was coerced into saying those things to frame you, almost causing an innocent person like you be wrongfully imprisoned."
Katherine's expression remained calm as she shook her head and said, "It's okay, as long as you tell the truth now and clear my name."

Ethan began recounting to the officers how he had gone astray. "On that particular day, I was distributing flyers at Whispering Ripple Beach. Exhausted, I took a break and sat down on a bench for a moment. I noticed a girl sitting beside me lost in her thoughts, so I decided to offer her a flyer. My intention that day was to promote a barbecue restaurant to Ms. Galatea. Ms. Galatea turned out to be a very kind girl; she patiently listened to everything I had to say, unlike others who tend to avoid flyer distributors. Not only did she listen attentively, but she also enthusiastically scanned the QR code and signed up for the barbecue restaurant's membership, which allowed me to earn a commission. It was my first encounter with Ms. Galatea, as I had no prior knowledge of her."
An officer was diligently taking notes. After finishing, he looked up and said, "Go on!"
Ethan continued, "The next morning, while I was handing out flyers at another location, a woman wearing a mask and sunglasses approached me. She said there was a temporary job available that paid much more than handing out flyers and asked if I was interested. Intrigued by the high pay, I wanted to know more about the job, so I agreed to go with her. To my surprise, she only took me to a quiet, deserted alley and told me to frame someone. She said I would receive $80,000 if I succeeded, and $10,000 had already been transferred to my account as a deposit last night. I was baffled. I didn't know her before, so how could she have transferred so much money to me last night? But when I checked my account balance, there was indeed an extra $30,000, transferred last night!

Ethan, filled with resentment, suddenly pointed and said, "It's her! Sophie! Sir, it was Ms. Jones who made me do it!"
Sophie's face went pale. "You... you're talking nonsense! I've never met you before! Today is the first time I've seen you. Why are you trying to frame me?"
Ethan insisted. "Ms. Jones, it was you. You told me to go to the hospital and pretend to assault Scarlett, then frame Katherine! You said it was because Katherine stole Scarlett's boyfriend, and you wanted to get rid of her for Scarlett!"
Sophie stood up in shock, shaking her head vehemently. "No, it wasn't me! You're lying! You're lying! Say one more word, and I'll sue you for defamation!"
Ethan didn't argue with her. He turned to the officer and said with certainty, "It was this woman named Sophie who made me do all of this! That day, she followed Ms. Galatea from Moonlight Manor to Whispering Ripple Beach. She saw Katherine talking to me, a flyer distributor, and chose me for this task! She picked up Ms. Galatea's dropped phone, used it to transfer $10,000 to me, then deleted the transaction record. She then had someone else pretend to find the phone and return it to the police, who gave it back to Ms. Galatea. Every step was meticulously planned by her to make Ms. Galatea the prime suspect!"
Hearing this, Scarlett was so shocked that she got up from Bernard's arms, looking at Sophie in disbelief. "Sophie! How could you do this! I told you long ago not to cause trouble for Katherine because of me. My issues with Alex have nothing to do with Katherine, and I don't like you doing this!"
Sophie frantically shook her head. "Scarlett, it wasn't me, really! I didn't do it."
Seeing Sophie refuse to admit it, Scarlett's expression turned to extreme disappointment. She didn't want to say anything more, took a deep breath, and turned to Bernard's arms to wipe her tears.
Losing Scarlett's trust, Sophie was at a loss, then angrily glared at Katherine, pointing at her. "It's you! Katherine, you had Ethan frame me! To clear your name, you had Ethan pin the blame on me! Katherine, you're so devious!"
Katherine raised an eyebrow, a hint of disdain in her eyes. "I only had my lawyer find them and save them. I didn't interfere in anything else, and I just found out who he was going to name. So it was you again, Ms. Jones."
Sophie became agitated and shouted, "Katherine, stop pretending to be innocent. You won't get away with this!"
She turned, her eyes red, and said to Bernard, "Bernard, don't believe Katherine. This is all her plan to clear her name by framing me!"
Bernard glanced at Sophie, then looked at Katherine, his eyes filled with scrutiny and complexity.
Two officers approached Sophie, taking out handcuffs. "Sophie, please stay and cooperate with our investigation!"
Sophie panicked and backed away, unwilling to be handcuffed. "Scarlett, save me!"
Hearing Sophie call for help, Scarlett felt both angry and compassionate. She walked up to Katherine, trying to take her hand, but Katherine politely avoided it.
Scarlett's face turned awkward, and she retracted her hand, apologizing, "Katherine, I'm sorry. I didn't know things were like this. These past few days must have been really hard on you! But Sophie did this for me, she made a mistake in a moment of confusion. Can you not pursue this, give her another chance, and forgive her one more time?"
