Chapter 1034 Hellen Seemed Like Virginia

Hellen snorted coldly after hearing this. "As if I need her to treat me to a meal! Go tell her to come directly to the house. I'll cook for her myself."

"Yes, Mrs. Mitchell!"

Billy bowed and then conveyed Hellen's message to Virginia.

Virginia felt that things weren't that simple and could only maintain a proper smile.

Hellen inviting her over was definitely not just for a meal; there must be something she wanted to say to her.

"Okay, I understand. I'll visit her after I finish work tomorrow evening."

The next day.

Virginia asked her manager to reschedule her appointments. After the crew wrapped up, she dressed up carefully and arrived early at the Mitchell Mansion.

Although Hellen had politely said she would cook for her personally, Virginia couldn't just accept it and show up at mealtime, as that would seem disrespectful to her elder. Arriving early would also help her create an image of being considerate and well-mannered in front of Hellen.

At the entrance of the Mitchell Mansion, Virginia touched up her makeup and adjusted her clothes before getting out of the car to ring the doorbell.

The Mitchell family servant answered the door and was not surprised to see Virginia standing outside. They politely invited her in.

"Ms. Pearl, please come in. Mrs. Mitchell has been expecting you."

Virginia flashed a bright smile. "Thank you, please lead the way."

As she walked into the yard, Virginia took out a bottle of branded hand cream from her bag and handed it to the servant. "You usually take good care of Hellen and Bernard. This hand cream is from a foreign brand that gave me two bottles. I found it very good, so you should try it."

Virginia used small gifts to win over the Mitchell family servants, hoping to have an insider to keep her informed about Bernard's situation at home. In doing so, she believed that those who received her favors would feel obligated to help her.

However, the servant leading the way just glanced at the hand cream and waved it off. "No need, Ms. Pearl, but thanks. I'm not one for fancy things. You should keep it for yourself."

Virginia hadn't anticipated her attempt to curry favor with the servant would be rebuffed. She almost couldn't hide her annoyance.

Fine, forget it!

Virginia put the hand cream back in her bag, pretending she hadn't said anything, and followed the servant into the house.

At that moment, Hellen happened to come downstairs, her smile dignified yet somewhat distant. "You're here early, Ms. Pearl. Not busy with work today?"

"Mrs. Mitchell, long time no see. You still look wonderful!" Virginia immediately put on a sweet smile upon seeing Hellen. "I thought it would be impolite for someone of your age to personally cook for me, so I pushed aside some work to come early and help you."

Hellen's smile was strained. "It's rare for someone of your status, Ms. Pearl, to take my invitation seriously. But arriving so early has caught us unprepared, which puts me in a bit of a bind!"

"Ah? I..."

Virginia was stunned. She didn't expect her early arrival to be criticized.

Seeing Virginia at a loss for words, Hellen didn't continue. She sat on the sofa and looked at her indifferently.

Virginia felt extremely awkward, unable to maintain her usual composed smile.

Seeing her discomfort, Hellen suddenly laughed. "Virginia, look how nervous you are. I was just joking. Of course, we welcome you coming early!"

Hellen's words made Virginia breathe a sigh of relief. She quickly smiled and said, "It's an honor for me to be invited by you. But as a junior, I feel bad letting you cook for me. How about I help out too?"

As she spoke, Virginia put her bag aside, intending to follow Hellen to the kitchen to help prepare dinner.

Hellen, however, extended her hand and slowly waved it, stopping her. "No need. You're a guest. How can we let you work? Besides, we have a rule in the Mitchell family that not just anyone can enter the kitchen."

Pausing, Hellen smiled solemnly. "Only the Mitchell family hostess and servants can enter the kitchen."

Virginia's face stiffened, finally understanding Hellen's purpose for inviting her!

Hellen was using this to remind her of her place.

"Alright, serve Ms. Pearl some tea! I should go prepare dinner for our guest."

With that, Hellen got up and headed to the kitchen.

A servant approached. "Ms. Pearl, please sit and try our tea!"

At this moment, Virginia's face was very unpleasant. Both Hellen and the Mitchell family servants were reminding her that she was just a guest here!

She bit her lip and sat down in the living room with the servant.

It didn't matter; there was plenty of time. Once she drove Christina away and married Bernard, becoming the real Mrs. Mitchell, everyone would know who the true mistress of the Mitchell family was!

Christina finished filming early today and hurried home, remembering Hellen's call to come home for dinner.

As soon as she entered, she saw a pair of women's high heels at the door.

No one in the Mitchell family wears such heels?

Could it be a guest?

Christina walked into the living room with questions, only to see Virginia sitting on the sofa!

"Ms. Russell, you're back!"

Virginia looked up, saw Christina, and stood up with a smile.

"Ms. Pearl, what are you doing here?" Christina forced a smile, greeting her, but it was clear she wasn't happy to see Virginia.

Virginia approached, naturally linking arms with Christina. "I'm here for dinner. Mrs. Hellen Mitchell specifically sent Billy to invite me yesterday, saying she would cook for me tonight! Christina, you must be tired from filming all day. Sit down and rest! I'll have the servant make you some tea!"

Hellen? Hellen invited Virginia here?

And Virginia's demeanor was as if she were the hostess!

Christina didn't know the relationship between Hellen and Virginia, but she'd been at the Mitchell family for a while and had never had a meal cooked by Hellen.

She didn't expect Hellen to cook for Virginia today.

It seemed Hellen really liked Virginia!
