Chapter 447 Help Me

She skipped lunch just to rewrite this workbook!

Finally, she finished and tossed it in front of Katherine. "Done, here you go!"

Katherine glanced through it and chuckled. "Not bad, you've made some progress this time. You got ten questions right!"

Fiona felt a bit embarrassed. Only ten questions right after all that effort? How shameful!

"I'm starving! I'm going to eat!"

Unable to face Katherine, whom she despised, Fiona decided to leave.

"Wait," Katherine called softly.

Fiona stopped, turned back impatiently, and glared. "You won't even let me eat? Do you want me to starve?"

Katherine casually put down the workbook and got up to put on her coat. "Let's go out to eat together. I'm hungry too."

Fiona was stunned. Was Katherine inviting her out? What was her game?

"Hmph! I don't want to eat with you! It's embarrassing!"

Katherine didn't get angry. She calmly put on her coat. "I'll buy you a Hermès bag while we're out. Still not going?"

Fiona's eyes widened. "What did you say?"

Katherine raised an eyebrow. "You don't want it?"

Fiona was confused. "Of course I want it! But I didn't even get half the questions right."

Katherine replied, "If you got half right, I'd buy you ten. For getting ten right, I'll get you one."

Fiona's eyes lit up. "You're not lying to me?"

Katherine took out a gold card and held it between her fingers. "I have the card. Coming or not?"

Without hesitation, Fiona said, "I'm coming! Wait for me! I'll go change!"

With that, Fiona dashed back to her room to change.

Seeing Fiona's excitement, Katherine yawned out of boredom. Sometimes, she envied people who could be so easily pleased by material things.

Material things were tangible dreams that could be bought with money, but she was never interested in them. She yearned for abstract spiritual pursuits, which were hard to grasp and rarely satisfying.

Anton was surprised and pleased to learn that the two, usually at odds, were going out to eat and shop together. He arranged for a driver to take them to the mall.

In the car, Fiona hummed excitedly, browsing the latest bag styles on her phone.

Katherine quietly watched the scenery outside the window, lost in thought.

Fiona shoved her phone in Katherine's face. "Katherine, which of these two colors do you think looks better?"

Katherine glanced down. "Left one."

Fiona also preferred the left one. "I didn't expect a country girl like you to have such good taste!"

Ever since Katherine joined the Melville family, Fiona had been calling her a country girl. By now, Katherine was immune to it. She didn't get angry and didn't care.

Fiona suddenly felt curious and asked, "Katherine, you can use Alex's card freely. Why don't you buy more things for yourself?"

Katherine replied, "I don't lack anything. I don't need to buy anything."

Fiona frowned, eyeing Katherine's plain outfit.

Katherine was beautiful, and even simple clothes didn't detract from her looks. But without designer labels, she seemed to lack status!

"Who says you don't need anything? You should toss all these clothes and buy new ones! Katherine, you're Mrs. Melville now. You should dress better to avoid embarrassing Alex!"

Katherine looked at her with a subtle expression.

Realizing what she had said, Fiona felt a bit embarrassed and added arrogantly, "Ahem! Don't overthink it. I haven't acknowledged you as Mrs. Melville, nor have I accepted you! It's just that Alex is infatuated with you right now, so I'm suggesting you tidy yourself up! I'm thinking of Alex! With his status, the woman by his side shouldn't be a disgrace!"

Katherine smiled. "Thanks for the advice. Alex doesn't mind what I wear, and I'm not interested in those things. But for necessary occasions, I'll wear appropriate formal attire to accompany him. For daily outfits, forget it."

Fiona rolled her eyes. "If you don't like spending this little money, I think your ambitions are even bigger. You want to completely win over Alex and take control of all the Melville family's assets!"

Katherine smirked. "Even if you're right, that's my skill. Fiona, if you have the ability, find a man who will willingly hand over all his assets to you!"

Fiona crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "I don't have as many schemes as you!"

They arrived at the mall and went to the Hermès flagship store.

Fiona's eyes lit up with excitement as she picked out bags while Katherine sat on the waiting area sofa, sipping coffee.

"Katherine."

Soon, a man's voice called her name, gentle and warm.

She turned her head to see Jonathan walking over, arm in arm, with a graceful girl.

Jonathan smiled at her. "It really is you, Katherine. I thought I was seeing things when I walked in!"

"Yeah, what a coincidence." Katherine nodded while holding her coffee, not standing up.

Jonathan turned to the girl beside him and said softly, "You go ahead and look around. Pick out a few things you like. I'll chat with my friend here for a bit."

The girl seemed reluctant to leave, casting a wary glance at Katherine before nodding and heading inside to look at bags.

After she left, Jonathan sat down on the sofa next to Katherine.

"Katherine, are you here to buy a bag by yourself? Alex didn't come with you?"

Katherine replied indifferently, "I'm not buying. I brought Fiona to buy one. She's inside picking, and I'm waiting for her."

Jonathan squinted slightly. "You're so kind, bringing Fiona to buy a bag!"

Katherine didn't respond to his teasing and instead asked, "Was that your girlfriend just now?"

Jonathan didn't hesitate for a second. "No."

Katherine raised an eyebrow. "Not your girlfriend, and you're taking her out to buy a bag? Oh, you rich people don't lack money. Buying a bag for a woman is nothing!"

Jonathan smiled wryly. "She's not. She's a blind date arranged by my family. I was actually worried about it! Katherine, since you're here, can you help me out?"

"How can I help you?"
