Chapter 1007 Help Her Avenge
Renee was stunned. Over the years, she had always been humble to survive in the Russell family, never defying their wishes.
But she never expected that even after being so obedient, Cheryl would still treat her this way!
"Cheryl, what's wrong with you? I didn't do anything!" Renee said, tears of grievance streaming down her face.
Cheryl looked at her eyes, which resembled Christina's, and her anger flared up even more. "Stop pretending! Christina has become so cunning and deceitful because of you!"
As she spoke, Cheryl picked up the teapot beside her and threw it at Renee.
Renee didn't have time to dodge.
The water in the teapot wasn't freshly boiled, but it was still hot enough to scald Renee's arm, turning it red.
Cheryl had lost her temper for a moment, but seeing Renee's red arm, she sobered up a bit and felt a little scared. "I..."
Renee endured the pain in her arm and still managed to force a submissive smile. "Cheryl, I'm fine, really. Don't be angry! What happened?"
Seeing her like this, Cheryl's anger subsided a bit. She frowned and looked at Renee. "Tell me, in your heart, do you still consider Christina your daughter?"
Renee immediately shook her head. "Of course not. She gave us three million dollars before, and we severed our mother-daughter relationship. Cheryl, tell me, did Christina make you angry again?"
Hearing her answer, Cheryl was very satisfied. "Yes, that bitch set me up today and embarrassed me!
Cheryl recounted everything that happened to her in detail to Renee. "She set me up to embarrass me and even used surveillance footage to threaten me. Christina is too despicable."
Listening to her, Renee noticed one thing.
When did her usually incompetent daughter become so rich? She could afford to rent a high-end studio and hire so many extras. Could it be that she was really with a wealthy man?
Renee began to regret severing ties with Christina for three million dollars!
After all, Christina might not be useful in other ways, but she did have a pretty face. Maybe a wealthy man would take a liking to her.
These days, even being a homewrecker for a rich man could bring a lot of money to the family.
"Renee, what are you thinking?"
Renee snapped back to reality and looked at Cheryl ingratiatingly. "Nothing, I was just thinking about how to help you get back at her."
"You better be!" Cheryl turned her head and looked elsewhere. "Christina dared to set me up today. I'll make sure she regrets it in the future!"
While they were talking, Jared came home and saw the mess on the floor, his brows furrowing. "What's going on here?"
Hearing Jared's voice, Cheryl became a bit nervous.
If he found out that Cheryl had thrown a teapot at Renee, Jared would undoubtedly be angry.
Renee patted her hand and smiled as she got up to greet him. "Jared, I accidentally broke the teapot earlier. I'll clean it up right away."
"Really clumsy, aren't you?" Jared glared at Renee and then went upstairs.
Cheryl followed him out. "Renee, as long as you stay on my side, you can rest easy. I'll put in a good word for you with my dad."
Renee nodded.
On the other side, after dinner, Bernard drove Christina home.
Christina got out of the car and, seeing that Bernard had no intention of getting out, turned and asked him, "Aren't you coming in?"
"I have some work to do."
Christina's face showed a disappointed expression, and she felt a bit bitter inside.
'Is he going to see Virginia?'
Seeing her expression, Bernard smiled helplessly. "I didn't go to the office all day today. There's a lot of work that needs my attention."
"You're going to the office?" Christina's mood brightened a bit, and she smiled. "Don't work too late. The Mitchell family is already very wealthy. You don't need to work so hard. Your health is more important."
After saying that, Christina turned and skipped into the house.
Bernard watched her back, his gaze softening unconsciously.
Having a woman like Christina at home didn't seem so bad.
At least, Hellen and Vincent were in a good mood every day because of her.
Thinking this, Bernard collected his thoughts and drove to the office.
Since her arm was scalded that day, Renee had stayed home for several days without going out.
Cheryl hadn't bothered her these past few days, and although Jared's attitude wasn't great, he had hired a temporary maid to clean the house.
It could be said that these past few days were the most comfortable Renee had been in the Russell family in years.
Seeing her arm gradually healing, Renee didn't want it to heal too quickly.
Unfortunately, things never go as one wishes. Her burn was almost healed, and Renee couldn't drag it out any longer.
Rather than letting Jared resent her, she decided to take on the household chores herself.
That day, Renee got up early and carefully prepared breakfast for the family.
While making breakfast, she couldn't help but think of Christina. Christina used to help her with half of the household chores. Now that Christina was gone, she had to do everything herself.
And what exactly did Christina do to become so rich suddenly?
"Where's the maid?" Jared asked as he came downstairs and saw her making breakfast. He sat down and asked indifferently.
Renee brought out the milk and placed it in front of Jared. "My hand is almost healed. I thought I'd let the maid go to save some money."
"Alright," Jared replied casually, showing little concern as he focused on his breakfast.
After sending Jared and Cheryl off, Renee took out her phone and dialed Christina's number.
When the call went through, Christina was helping Hellen with the flowers. Seeing Renee's name on the screen, her expression darkened, and she immediately hung up.
"Who was it?"
Hellen's question brought Christina back to her senses, and she smiled. "Nothing, Grandma, just a telemarketer."
Renee, who had her call hung up, was instantly furious and threw her phone onto the bed. "Well, look at Christina now. She's too big for her britches and won't even take my calls. Does she forget who brought her into this world?"
