Chapter 386 I Have No Money

Katherine glanced at the chat logs and said, "Alex, they're your friends. You handle it."

Alex squinted. "I can't."

Katherine looked at him through the makeup mirror, confused. "Why not? You went drinking with them before. Just do the same."

Alex replied, "I ain't got no money."

Katherine went silent.

The makeup artist, changing Katherine's hairstyle, looked surprised and amused that such a tall, elegant man would say "no money."

Katherine remembered he had given her all his bank cards. His phone really had no money left.

"Fine, you arrange it, and I'll pay," Katherine said.

Alex was waiting for that. He tapped her nose. "Thanks, Honey!"

Her nose itched from his rough hand, and she wrinkled it. Alex's "Honey" made her blush.

Seriously, the makeup artist was right there, and he was being so mushy!

With Katherine's okay, Alex typed: [She said okay.]

Hilton: [Alex, are your photos done? Send them over!]

Alex: [Get lost.]

Hilton: [So tough with me, but with Katherine, you only do what she says! Haven't seen you in a few days; Alex has become a henpecked husband!]

Alex tagged Teresa: [Kick that non-human out!]

Teresa: [...]

Hilton: [Alright! Please don't kick me! I won't mess around! Alex, when are you arranging it? How about today?]

Teresa: [Oh yeah! I want a drink today, too!]

Bernard, who never chats, surprisingly appeared: [Come to Moonlight Manor, I'll arrange it tonight.]

Hilton was shocked: [Bernard, what wind blew you here today?]

Bernard: [What? Not welcome?]

Hilton: [Of course, you're welcome! But it's not my treat today! You have to ask Alex, the host!]

Alex: [Okay.]

Issac: [Let's go to Moonlight Manor. Bernard has some good wine there!]

Hilton: [It's settled then!]

Katherine checked the group chat and saw Bernard's message. She frowned slightly.

Bernard wants to join their drinking session.

An hour later, the staff at the photography studio said, "Ma'am, your wedding photos are done. We'll call you in a few days to select the pictures. Could you leave us a contact number?"

Katherine nodded and left a phone number.

Teresa couldn't wait. "Photos are finally done. Let's go to Moonlight Manor to celebrate! They are already there!"

Katherine waved her hand. "I'm tired. I'm not going. You go with Alex."

Teresa was unhappy. "Katherine, how can you not go? You're the guest of honor today! If you don't go, who are we celebrating for? Do you want Alex to go alone and be teased by everyone?"

Katherine looked helplessly at Alex. He gazed at her with gentle eyes. "Really tired?"

Katherine nodded. "A bit."

Alex asked, "You don't want to go?"

Katherine nodded again. "I want to go home."

Alex hugged her shoulder. "Okay, then we'll go home."

Katherine frowned. "We? You're not going either?"

Alex looked down at her. "If you don't go, there's no one to pay the bill. Why should I go?"

Katherine rolled her eyes. "I can transfer money to you, and you can pay yourself!"

Alex said seriously, "No need. If you don't go, I don't feel like staying out. I'm afraid my wife will run away again."

Katherine couldn't stand this tactic. She suddenly felt Alex had a scheming side!

"Alright! I'll go too! Is that okay?"

Alex smiled, leaned down, and whispered, "Katherine, I know you're tired. We'll go, have a few drinks, and then go home. I'll make sure you get a good rest. I won't bother you."

Hearing "bother," Katherine's face turned red. "Alex! You..."

Teresa leaned in curiously. "Alex, what did you say to Katherine? Why is she blushing?"

Alex pushed his niece's head away. "Not suitable for children. Don't ask about everything."

Katherine didn't want to talk anymore.

Teresa rubbed her face where Alex had pushed, pouting. "I'm not a child anymore! What's wrong with asking!"

When Katherine and Alex arrived at Moonlight Manor, Hilton, Bernard, Issac Sanchez, and Jonathan Mostow were already there, drinking and chatting.

Hearing them come in, everyone turned to look.

Hilton raised his glass. "The stars of the show are here!"

Bernard looked at Katherine with a gentle and loving gaze. Then he looked at Alex, his eyes darkening with displeasure.

His sister deserved a man of similar age, gentle and considerate. Instead, she found this cunning older man. It was a bargain for him!

Issac, always quiet, clinked glasses with Jonathan beside him.

Jonathan looked at the approaching couple, a bitter smile on his lips, silently sipping his drink, which tasted bitter too.

Alex, holding Katherine, said, "Let me introduce, this is my wife, Katherine." Then, he sat down with her, his arm around her waist.

Hilton was the first to toast. "Congrats, Alex, finally got the beauty!"

Issac also toasted. "Alex, congratulations."

Bernard coldly watched, not joining the celebration.

At that moment, a glass of wine was suddenly offered to Katherine. "Katherine, happy wedding."

Katherine was initially stunned, then looked up to see Jonathan. She picked up the juice Alex handed her and clinked glasses with Jonathan. "Thank you."

Jonathan said nothing; he just smiled and downed his strong drink in one go!

The atmosphere was subtly complex.

At that moment, Alex's phone suddenly rang.
