Chapter 834 Are You Okay?
Brent originally wanted the family to have a nice reunion dinner together, but it turned out like this!
He tried to say a few kind words to smooth things over.
"Nora, I admit my attitude towards Linda just now was a bit off, I..."
Nora didn't want to hear his excuses anymore. She took Linda's little hand and prepared to leave. "Linda, come with me! We're not staying with him anymore!"
Linda nodded and stood up with Nora.
Seeing that Nora and Linda were about to leave, Sophia couldn't help but smile. This was exactly the outcome she wanted; she wanted Brent to drive Nora and Linda away!
Although she knew Brent had always been partial to her, she still couldn't stand anyone else taking away Brent's love and attention!
Nora had better be serious about divorcing Brent and taking that bitch Linda away, never to return!
Just as Nora was about to leave with Linda, she caught a glimpse of Sophia's smirk out of the corner of her eye and stopped. "Sophia, what are you laughing at? Do you think you've finally gotten your wish and driven Linda and me away?"
Sophia immediately wiped the smile off her face, put on an innocent expression, and said, "Nora, I wasn't laughing! Why are you accusing me again?"
Nora sneered, "I saw you laughing clearly. I just want to remind you, don't be happy too soon!
I am going to divorce Brent, but I'm not planning to walk away empty-handed! Isn't Brent planning to leave all his assets to you? Well, I'll hire the best lawyer to fight Brent in court until I get half of Brent's assets! You should know that divorce laws are very favorable to women who have had children!"
"You..." Sophia couldn't laugh anymore. She didn't expect the usually gentle Nora to become so fierce!
Nora interrupted her with a cold smile, "Are you going to accuse me of showing my true colors, suggesting I always intended to take Brent's money?"
"Well, let me tell you something! I don't need his money, and I don't care about it! The lawsuit is about fighting for fairness for Linda. Once I win and get half of Brent's assets, I will donate it all to charity in Linda's name! I'd rather give it all away than let you inherit everything!"
Sophia, infuriated by Nora's words, looked at Brent with a wounded expression, "Dad, do you see that? This is who she really is."
Nora laughed, knowing Sophia would react just as she did.
She interrupted again, "Enough! Stop pretending to be pitiful in front of Brent! Don't think that acting pitiful will make Brent hand over his assets to you. I'm telling you, I will soon file for divorce in a Markovia court. Before our divorce case is settled, Brent has no right to privately decide how to distribute his assets!"
Sophia clenched her fists. If it weren't for Brent being present, she would have stood up and slapped this crazy woman, Nora!
Knowing that Sophia was angry, Nora smiled gently, "This is your own doing! If you hadn't targeted Linda like this, I would have had no objection to Brent giving all his assets to you. Are you satisfied now?"
Sophia gritted her teeth as Nora left with Linda.
Seeing that Nora was really leaving and not just trying to scare him, Brent quickly got up to chase after her!
Sophia stood up to block Brent, "Dad, why are you chasing her? Haven't you seen her true colors yet? She always said she loved you and didn't care about anything else! Now that she knows you want to give all your assets to me, she's anxious! And she still claims it's not about the money! Dad, don't chase her! I don't think she can win the divorce case. She hasn't contributed anything to your assets, so why should she get half? She's dreaming!"
Because of Sophia's obstruction, Brent missed the best opportunity to chase after Nora, watching helplessly as Nora and Linda walked out of the restaurant door.
"Get out of the way! I need to bring them back! Nora rarely comes back to the country; I don't know where she can take Linda!"
Sophia frowned, looking heartbroken for Brent, "Dad, she's the one who wants to divorce you, not the other way around! If she leaves, it's her own choice, not your fault!"
"I have to be responsible for my wife and child!" Brent was anxious. Unable to get around Sophia, he quickly ordered his men to chase after them!
Sophia didn't want Brent to chase after Nora and Linda. She thought this was Nora's deliberate act to make Brent beg her!
Unexpectedly, it earned her a hard slap from Brent!
Sophia was stunned, looking at Brent in disbelief, "You hit me? You hit me for Nora and Linda?"
Brent was very angry, "What more do you want? Linda is young and doesn't understand, but you insist on picking on her, making Nora unhappy! I've already been very partial to you, and you're still not satisfied. What more do you want? Do you want to see me single for the rest of my life to make you happy?"
Sophia covered her face, her eyes red as she looked at Brent, "Dad, you say you're partial to me, but you hit me for them! You've never hit me like this before."
Seeing Sophia cry again, Brent felt a bit troubled. After hesitating for a moment, he still bypassed Sophia and quickly went out to chase after Nora and Linda!
Watching Brent leave her to find Nora and Linda, Sophia gritted her teeth, her hands clenched into fists, filled with anger, jealousy, and unwillingness!
She wanted to chase after them to see if Nora would let Brent coax her and beg for her forgiveness, but Trevor was still there, and she couldn't leave.
Thinking of Trevor, Sophia looked over and saw Trevor drinking water indifferently, looking like he was full.
Julian beside him was also quiet, looking unconcerned!
