Chapter 289 Win Katherine Back
Teresa stated, "Mom, you know Alex has been down in the dumps for over a month! He worked so hard to find Katherine. We can't let our family hold Alex back and scare Katherine away. Poor Alex!"
Leina smiled helplessly yet kindly. "Alright, stop nagging! I know you care about Alex, and I will definitely treat Katherine well!"
Teresa smiled with satisfaction. "That's more like it!"
At that moment, she heard the sound of a car pulling into the yard and excitedly let go of her mother's arm. "Mom! It must be Alex and Katherine. You add some dishes while I go out to greet them!"
With that, Teresa happily ran out.
Leina shook her head with a helpless smile and returned to the kitchen to continue helping the housekeeper.
When Teresa rushed into the yard, Alex had just stepped out of the car as the driver respectfully opened the door.
"Alex, you're here! Today's meal is going to be great!" Teresa said with a cheerful smile.
Alex glanced at her indifferently, nodded, and then walked towards the house.
Teresa didn't think anything was wrong. Alex had always been aloof since childhood.
Instead of following Alex into the house, she eagerly ran to the car amd opened the door to look for someone.
As she opened the car door, she muttered, "Alex, seriously! How could you not wait for Katherine and go in alone? Isn't he afraid Katherine will leave him again?"
"Katherine, I'm here to welcome you!"
However, when she opened the car door, she didn't see the person she expected.
She murmured, "Where's Katherine?"
Teresa poked her head into the car. When she didn't see anyone in the back seat, she looked towards the front and saw only the driver and Leander.
The driver and Leander also turned around and looked at her with puzzled expressions.
Leander asked, "Teresa, who are you looking for?"
Teresa replied, "I'm looking for Katherine! Didn't she come with Alex?"
Leander's expression darkened as he cautiously reminded Teresa. "Teresa, it's best not to mention Katherine in front of Mr. Melville."
Teresa frowned, realizing things were not as she expected, and became a bit unhappy. "What's going on? Didn't Alex and Katherine get back together?"
Leander shook his head regretfully. "So, don't mention Ms. Galatea in front of Mr. Melville; it will upset him."
Teresa couldn't understand what was going on. Given Alex's reticent nature, asking him wouldn't help, so she got into the car and started questioning Leander endlessly!
She asked, "What exactly happened? He found her, so why didn't things go as planned? Did Alex stay aloof in front of Katherine and not coax her back home?"
Leander frowned complicatedly. "It's not Mr. Melville's fault."
Teresa was even more puzzled. "It's not Alex's fault? Then it's Katherine's fault? Katherine is such a good person. What could be wrong with her?"
Leander knew he shouldn't discuss Mr. Melville's affairs, but he feared that if he didn't, Teresa might keep mentioning Ms. Galatea and upset Mr. Melville.
Leander answered, "Teresa, the fact is, Ms. Galatea is now someone else's wife. So, Mr. Melville can't have any contact with her anymore. When you go in, don't mention her, okay?"
"What?!" Teresa stood up in shock, forgetting she was in the car, and hit her head on the roof, yelping in pain.
Leander found the scene both amusing and concerning. "Teresa, are you okay?"
Teresa rubbed her sore head, ignoring the pain, and urgently asked, "How can Katherine be someone else's wife? She hasn't even divorced Alex yet! How could she marry someone else?"
Leander sighed helplessly. "Ms. Galatea and Mr. Melville never got a marriage certificate. He wanted to get married just to deal with Jackie, so there's no question of divorce."
Teresa showed a disappointed expression. "Alex, seriously! Not getting the certificate at first was one thing, but later, when he wanted to be with Katherine, he didn't hurry to get the certificate! Katherine is so adorable. There must be a lot of people chasing her. Now look, someone else got her!"
Leander's mouth twitched. "Teresa, considering Mr. Melville is your uncle, don't make sarcastic remarks, especially in front of him."
Teresa frowned, dissatisfied with the outcome. She really liked Katherine!
Even if Alex gave up on Katherine, she wouldn't!
After thinking for a while, Teresa asked, "Leander, tell me, who did Katherine marry this time?"
Leander replied, "The vice president of the Crescent Group, Frank."
Teresa had a plotting expression. "The Crescent Group, Frank, got it!"
Leander sensed something was wrong and asked worriedly, "Teresa, what are you planning?"
Teresa gave a sinister smile. "I'm not telling you! Just rest assured, I have a way to help Alex get Katherine back!"
With that, Teresa gracefully got out of the car and went back into the house.
Leander was puzzled in the car. Teresa said she had a way to help Mr. Melville get Ms. Galatea back, but how?
Ms. Galatea was now married, and pursuing Katherine would be interfering in someone else's marriage.
And as far as he knew, both Mr. Melville and Ms. Galatea were very principled people; neither would take that step!
So, what exactly was Teresa planning? Hopefully, she wouldn't cause any trouble.
The next afternoon, Teresa brought her resume to the Crescent Group for an interview. She wanted to see what the vice president named Frank looked like and if he was more handsome than Alex. How did he manage to take Katherine from Alex?
Moreover, she mainly wanted to check if Frank and Katherine's marriage was real.
She always felt that Katherine wasn't the type to like getting married. How could she have a flash marriage right after leaving Alex?
She had sent her resume to the Crescent Group's HR department email last night, and this morning, someone from the HR department called her for an interview.
The Crescent Group's efficiency was quite high, but she didn't know if she could see their vice president today!
Teresa walked into the elevator and pressed the floor number given by the Crescent Group's HR department.
