Chapter 104 Mrs. Melville, Mr. Melville Sent Me to Pick You Up

Sherry and Lillian went back to the hospital room to get their things, both eager to head home and soothe Joshua.

As soon as they walked into the room, they saw Katherine lounging lazily in a chair, eyes closed, looking very relaxed.

This sight made the already frazzled Sherry and Lillian even more furious!

Sherry stepped forward to push her, but before she could, Katherine caught her wrist in time.

Katherine, holding her wrist, lazily opened her eyes. "Sherry, why are you attacking me as soon as you get back?"

Sherry pulled her hand back in annoyance and sharply questioned, "Katherine, all of today's mess is your doing, isn't it?"

Lillian also said angrily, "That's right, it must be this little witch's doing!"

Katherine tilted her head in confusion. "What are you talking about? What did I do? Every step that led to today was your own choice, wasn't it?"

Sherry gritted her teeth in anger and raised her hand to slap her!

Suddenly, there were two light and quick knocks on the door.

Sherry and Lillian turned to see Frank, the Vice President of The Crescent Group, standing at the open door, elegantly raising an arm, just having finished knocking.

Sherry immediately changed her demeanor, smiling sweetly and politely. "Oh! Mr. Perez, what brings you here?"

Frank curled his lips into a cold and sarcastic smile. "I heard from your assistant that you were here."

‘Heard from my assistant? Wasn't my current assistant Katherine? Katherine and Mr. Perez are in contact privately?’ Sherry thought.

Sherry suddenly remembered that Mr. Perez had previously confessed to Katherine, saying he had fallen in love with her at first sight!

Could it be that Katherine had already agreed to date Frank?

Thinking of this, Sherry was instantly consumed with jealousy and tentatively asked, "So, Mr. Perez, you came here for what?"

Frank replied, "Ms. Galatea, I'm here to see you."

Hearing this, Sherry immediately felt smug, secretly giving Katherine a disdainful look. Then she proudly said, "So you came to see me? I guess it's about the endorsement, right? Mr. Perez, rest assured, no matter what The Crescent Group requires, I will fully cooperate!"

Frank walked in, smiling and stating, "It's great that you are willing to cooperate. This is the endorsement contract you signed with us yesterday. We now require a termination. Please sign the consent form."

As he spoke, he handed the termination consent form to Sherry.

Sherry froze her smile, her expression changing. "Termination? Mr. Perez, I don't understand. We just signed the contract yesterday. Why are we terminating it now?"

"Ms. Galatea, haven't you checked Twitter's trending topics? Your related scandal is now dominating the trends and you've been labeled a disreputable artist. Our endorsement contract clearly states that the endorsing artist must maintain a positive public image. If a scandal arises, the artist is fully responsible. We have the right to terminate the contract unconditionally," he then explained.

Scandal? Sherry was stunned and quickly took out her phone to check, her face turning ugly.

The trending topics were:

#Actress Sherry Beaten by a Man's Wife in Public#

#Sherry Involved in Marital Affair#

#Sherry as the third party#

Clicking on one of the entries, it was a short video taken by onlookers earlier, but the faces of Kenny and his wife were blurred out.

This was clearly Kenny using his connections to clear himself and his wife, leaving her to fend for herself!

But things were different from the trending topics made them out to be!

Sherry was furious. She was used to paying for negative press about others, but now it was her turn to be slandered. She felt utterly helpless.

"Mr. Perez, it's not like what the trending topics say! Please believe me!" she hurriedly explained.

Frank remained unmoved and businesslike. "Ms. Galatea, the issue now isn't whether I believe you but whether the public believes you! If you don't agree to a peaceful termination, we can proceed with legal action. But I have to warn you that if you lose, you'll have to pay a hefty compensation!"

Sherry felt uncertain. ‘How could I win a lawsuit against The Crescent Group?’ she thought.

After thinking it over, she had no choice but to compromise. "Alright, I'll sign it."

Sherry signed the termination consent form.

Lillian watched from the side, feeling sorry for her daughter. Kenny's lead role in the movie was gone, and now The Crescent Group's endorsement was also gone. How would Sherry ever recover from this?

Frank, satisfied, put away the contract and looked up at Katherine.

Katherine gave a barely noticeable nod, and Frank understood, turning to leave.

Having been humiliated by Frank she couldn't afford to offend, Sherry turned her anger on Katherine!

"Katherine, I, at this moment, officially announce that you're fired. Return the advance salary you took from me immediately!" Sherry announced.

Katherine was straightforward and answered, "Alright."

She took out her phone and transferred the money to Sherry's account.

Sherry frowned in dissatisfaction and asked, "Why is it only $400? You took an advance of $800 from me!"

Katherine replied, "Sherry, the amount of work I've done for you these past few days far exceeds normal. Returning half is already very fair to you."

Sherry rolled her eyes and then retorted, "You've only worked a few days. How dare you ask for $400? You really think you're something special!"

Katherine smiled faintly, then answered, "I'm nobody, but ordinary people can't afford to hire me. I'm giving you a family discount because we're sisters."

Sherry laughed sarcastically. "Katherine, do you think what you do is some challenging job? You're just a lousy assistant. Normally, I could hire three people to serve me for the salary. What are you bragging about?"

"Oh? Really? Given your current notorious reputation, are you sure anyone would still want to be your assistant?" Katherine asked.

"Katherine, who do you think you are? Even if I'm down and out temporarily, it's not your place to look down on me!" Sherry reprimanded.

Katherine stood up and stretched lazily. "Sherry, don't get me wrong. I don't look down on you at all. Because in my eyes, you don't even exist."

Sherry was fuming and shouted, "You!"

Lillian, being older and more rational, came over to persuade, "Alright, Sherry. Let's go home and find your dad. There will be plenty of time to deal with this little witch later!"

Ignoring them, Katherine yawned lazily and left the room.

While waiting for the elevator, she donated the money she withheld from Sherry to a charity.

She needed money, but not that badly.

She just couldn't let Sherry boss her around for days without any consequences.

Hopefully, Sherry would learn her lesson this time and stop provoking her.

The elevator door opened. Leander stepped out respectfully, looking at her. "Mrs. Melville, Mr. Melville sent me to pick you up."
