Chapter 865 It's Actually Her!
Linda noticed Brent's silence. "Dad, you can't promise that, can you? Then maybe you should just leave!"
Brent frowned at Linda and Nora. "Why are you two making such a request? What good does it do for you to make Trevor leave Sophia?"
Nora didn't know where to start.
Linda, with a righteous look, said, "It doesn't benefit us, but it's fair to Trevor! Dad, you know his name isn't really Trevor.
Back then, it was Sophia who forcibly took him away, made him lose his memory, gave him this name, and lied to him that they were married!
In fact, Trevor has a real wife and children. Sophia has kept them apart for so many years; it's time to end this!"
Hearing Linda reveal the truth, Brent was furious. "Enough! Don't ever bring this up again. Trevor is now part of our family, your brother-in-law. His past is irrelevant!"
Linda looked at Brent in disappointment. "So, Dad, you're not going to agree to Mom's request?"
Brent said, "Agree to what? You're just a kid; don't meddle and instigate your mom to make such unreasonable demands!"
Linda retorted, "Unreasonable demands? Which part of what I said isn't true? Dad, you're so protective of Sophia that you can't see right from wrong! That's what Mom and I can't stand about you!"
Brent frowned and ignored Linda, turning to Nora. "Nora, Linda doesn't understand. Please don't make a fuss. Come on, let's go home!"
Nora looked at Brent with a sense of helplessness. "Cole, I'm not making a fuss or trying to make things difficult for you. I genuinely hope you'll consider letting Trevor go back to his real family, reuniting them, and stop getting involved in Sophia's wrongdoings!"
Brent couldn't understand. "What do those people have to do with us? I just want my own family to be happy! Nora, you know Sophia can't live without Trevor! Forcing me to let Trevor go now is like pushing Sophia to her death!"
Nora disagreed. "Sophia will be fine without Trevor. Don't you know your own daughter? When has she ever neglected herself? She loves herself too much to harm herself for anyone! In my view, she doesn't love Trevor; it's just possessiveness and a desire to conquer!
If she truly loved Trevor, how could she bear to torment him like this? Cole, you've spoiled Sophia too much! From childhood to now, you've given her whatever she wanted without considering right or wrong. You're harming her!
If you don't stop her now, one day she'll encounter something she can't have, and then she'll go to extremes and make a big mistake!"
"Enough! Stop talking!" Brent was irritated. "Sophia is my daughter. As her father, how can I not help my own daughter when I can?"
Nora was extremely disappointed. "In that case, you should leave. I won't go back with you to aid and abet the wicked!"
Brent sat on the sofa with a determined look, took out his phone, and called his men waiting outside. "Bring my luggage here immediately!"
Nora was a bit angry. "This is my friend's house. You're not welcome here. Please leave immediately!"
Linda also put her hands on her hips. "Yes! Please leave my mom's friend's house immediately. You're not welcome here, you old fool who can't tell right from wrong!"
Brent and Nora were both angry, and Brent put on a stern fatherly look. "How dare you talk to me like that! Who are you calling an old fool?"
Linda made a face at him from behind Nora. "I'm talking about you! Old fool!"
"You!" Brent's face turned red with anger.
Nora stood protectively in front of Linda. "I'll handle Linda myself. You should go back to Sophia!"
Brent tried to grab Nora's hand. "Nora, if you want me to go back, we go back together!"
Nora pulled away. "I told you, if you agree to my condition, then I'll consider going back with you."
Brent was frustrated. "I just don't get it! Why are you siding with an outsider? Isn't it good to see Sophia happy?"
Nora frowned. "Happy? Do you really think Sophia has been happy these past few years? She's just deceiving herself. The amnesiac Trevor doesn't care about her at all. If he doesn't love her, keeping him by her side is useless! Besides, I'm not siding with an outsider!"
Brent didn't want to comment on Sophia's state these years, but he had a big issue with Nora's last statement.
"Aren't you siding with an outsider? Trevor's original wife and children have nothing to do with us. What are you fighting for them for?"
Nora frowned deeply. "Who said Trevor's original wife and children have nothing to do with us?
Do you remember four years ago when we had a fight, and I took Linda and left, then got into a car accident and urgently needed a blood transfusion? A kind girl, despite being pregnant, donated blood to me, saving my life!
Let me tell you, that girl was none other than Trevor's original wife, Katherine!
She saved my life. I owe her. How can I help you and Sophia take away her beloved husband? I can't do it!"
Brent was shocked. "What did you say? It was her!"
Linda chimed in, "Yes! It was Katherine! The hospital's blood supply was critical, and Mom's life was on the line. Katherine donated blood in time, and when that wasn't enough, she brought her friend with the same blood type to donate more, saving Mom's life!
Dad, if it weren't for Katherine's timely blood donation, Mom wouldn't be here now! Haven't you always taught me to be grateful and repay kindness? But instead of repaying Katherine, we've ruined her family. How is that right?"
Brent was too shocked to speak for a long time.
What a coincidence!
Nora sighed heavily, her voice filled with pain. "Cole, I know you still care about me, but we're just too different. I can't see things from Sophia's perspective, and you can't see things from mine. Let's just get a divorce!"
