Chapter 573 Where Did I Hit You

Frank leaned back and said, "Yo, we gotta see Katherine. We're thinking of grabbing some supplements and dropping by her place."

Teresa looked confused, "If you're heading to see Katherine, you and Ms. Hawthorne can just explain when you get there. The Melville family should let you in. You don't need me to tag along."

Frank raised an eyebrow, "It's more solid if you come with. If they shut us out, having you there means we won't waste the trip."

Teresa thought it was a bit weird, but Frank's logic made sense, so she shrugged, "Alright! Do I need to wait till I'm off work?"

Frank shook his head, "Nah. If you're free now, we can bounce right away!"

"In such a rush?" Teresa blinked and checked her phone, "I got nothing going on today! Okay, let's roll!"

Teresa grabbed her bag, stuffed her phone inside, and threw on her coat, ready to head out with Frank and Ambrosia to visit the Melville family.

On the way to the elevator, Frank noticed the dude who had been flirting with Teresa earlier had the same brand of coffee on his desk that Teresa had just drunk, and he saw them share a smile.

In the car, Teresa took the front passenger seat, while Frank and Ambrosia chilled in the back.

Teresa gazed out the window at the street, pulled out her phone, and shot a message to Katherine: [Katherine, coming with Mr. Perez & Ms. Hawthorne. Want anything? I'll grab it for you!]

After a few minutes with no reply from Katherine, Teresa saw a message from her colleague Anthony Gray.

Anthony: [What are you doing out with Mr. Perez and Ms. Hawthorne?]

Teresa: [Just a little personal errand. They need my help to find the place.]

Anthony: [Personal errand? How do you have a personal errand with two CEOs?]

Teresa: [Not really! I just know the place they wanna go!]

Anthony: [Gotcha! So, no lunch plans? Is the place you're going good for grabbing some food?]

Teresa was surprised. It had been a while since someone cared like that, and she felt a bit touched. She was about to reply when Frank's voice came from the back seat, "Ms. Harris, I don't mind you chatting, but it's best not to spill our plans and destination."

Teresa paused her typing, instinctively shielding her phone, then turned to look at the back seat. She saw Frank lounging, showing no signs of having peeked at her phone. "Mr. Perez, you're overthinking. I didn't spill any details, just mentioned going out."

Frank grinned, "Good to hear!"

Teresa thought Frank was acting a bit off today, but she couldn't put her finger on it. She quickly replied to Anthony: [I'll make sure to eat well. Talk to you later!]

Anthony replied instantly: [Call me if you need anything!]

Seeing Teresa's protective gesture over her phone, Frank squinted slightly, looking both amused and annoyed.

"Got a thing for Anthony, huh?" Frank teased, a smirk playing on his lips.

Teresa's eyes widened. 'He must've peeked! How else would he know who I'm texting?' she thought.

"Mr. Perez, are you that nosy? Even if I do like Anthony, so what? You gonna play matchmaker now?" Teresa shot back.

Frank chuckled, "Why not? Once we're done with this mess, I'll find some time to set you two up."

Teresa rolled her eyes, not expecting him to actually agree. "No need to trouble yourself, Mr. Perez. I can handle my own business."

Frank raised an eyebrow. "So, you're saying you'll go after him yourself?"

Teresa frowned, looking him dead in the eye. "Mr. Perez, just because I went after you and struck out doesn't mean I chase every guy. I'm not that desperate!"

Frank grinned. "With your charm, Ms. Harris, someone should be chasing you!"

Teresa didn't want to continue the conversation. 'I used to think Frank was gentle, funny, always with that easy smile. Now, he just seems sarcastic and mean! Katherine was right; Frank's not boyfriend material. Anyone who gets involved with him is asking for heartbreak!' she thought.

With Teresa going silent, Frank got bored and turned his attention to Ambrosia, who was glued to her phone, reading some messages. He leaned over quietly to sneak a peek. Ambrosia was reading complaints from Sunny.

Sunny: [You backstabber! I hate you!]

Ambrosia didn't reply.

Sunny sent another message: [Telling Bernard I harassed you? How about mentioning how you flirted with me first?]

Ambrosia adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses and still didn't reply.

Less than 10 seconds later, Sunny sent another message: [Now Bernard beat me up, saying I embarrassed him. Happy now?]

Ambrosia's brow furrowed slightly. After a moment, she finally replied: [Where did he hit you?]

Sunny: [Everywhere! You evil woman, it's all your fault!]

Ambrosia: [Learn your lesson. Don't come looking for me again, and you won't get beaten.]

Sunny: [No way! We hooked up, and you think you can just dump me? When Bernard's not around, I'll still come find you! You better not see other men behind my back, or I'll bite you!]

Ambrosia: [Looks like Bernard didn't beat you enough.]

Sunny: [I'll never be beaten into submission. I don't argue with Bernard because I don't want to upset him; his health isn't great lately. I won't give in to violence!]

Ambrosia stopped replying, thinking talking to him was a waste of time.

Probably frustrated by the lack of response, Sunny sent another message: [Ambrosia, what are you doing now? Let's video chat!]

Ambrosia still ignored him, about to turn off her phone when Sunny's video call came through.

Naturally, Ambrosia intended to hang up, but before she could, Frank snatched her phone and answered it.
