Chapter 835 It's Good to Be Divorced
Sophia covered the side of her face that Brent had just slapped. "Trevor, of course, I'm not okay! You know how strong my dad is. My ear is still ringing."
Trevor squinted his eyes. "How would I know how strong your dad is? Have I ever been hit by him?"
Sophia's face froze instantly, and she quickly explained, "No! Of course not! I meant that you should have an idea of how strong men can be!"
She was worried that Trevor might find out that his leg was crippled by Brent.
However, even though Trevor hadn't regained his memory, he already knew what he needed to know.
He didn't show any unusual reaction and said calmly, "Alright, go back and put some ice on it. It won't hurt as much."
Sophia was very disappointed. "Trevor, don't you get it? I don't want ice; I want you to care about me! Can't you show a little more concern? Stop treating me like a stranger with just a few polite words."
Trevor raised an eyebrow, a bit impatient. "What kind of attitude do you want from me? Isn't this situation your own doing? If you had just kept your mouth shut, Brent wouldn't have slapped you!"
Sophia's face turned extremely grim. "Trevor, how can you think of me like that?"
Trevor was no longer polite to her. "Sometimes, you really make people feel like you're stirring up trouble. Brent came all the way here with Nora and Linda to see you, and you keep putting him in a difficult position. If I were your father, I'd be angry too."
Sophia looked embarrassed. "Trevor, I..."
Trevor didn't want to deal with her anymore. He turned his head and asked, "Julian, are you full?"
Julian nodded. "Yes, I'm full."
Trevor took a napkin and wiped Julian's mouth. "Then let's go."
He then maneuvered his wheelchair, leading Julian out of the room.
Sophia clenched her fists in frustration. Why was no one on her side? Neither Trevor nor Brent supported her!
Why? Why was this happening?
She kicked the table leg hard before turning around to follow Trevor out.
Shortly after Sophia left the restaurant, Katherine came out of the restroom with George.
They had heard most of what had happened while they were in the restroom.
George held Katherine's hand, feeling pleased. "Mommy, I think Sophia got what she deserved. She's always trying to stir up trouble, and now everyone hates her. It's her karma!"
Katherine didn't say anything. She bent down to pick up George and took him out of the restaurant, getting into the car that had been waiting for her at the door.
As soon as they got in the car, Fiona grabbed her hand excitedly. "Katherine, you saw Alex just now, didn't you?"
Katherine nodded. "Yes, I saw him."
Fiona was teary-eyed. "Then why didn't you bring him over? Let him come home with us!"
Katherine's expression was a bit complicated. "It's not the right time yet."
Fiona wiped her tears with her arm. "Katherine, why do I feel like you're not excited at all about seeing Alex? Don't you like him anymore?"
Katherine felt a headache coming on. She rubbed Fiona's head. "What do you want me to do to show excitement? Jump up and down?"
Fiona pouted. "Not that... It's just that your reaction was so cold. It didn't seem like you were seeing Alex again after waiting for three years."
Katherine didn't want to explain any further. She handed George over to Teresa and sat by the window, quietly looking out and thinking.
Fiona wanted to go over and ask her what she planned to do next, but Frank stopped her. "Fiona, you'll have plenty of time to talk to Katherine when you get home. For now, let her have some peace."
Fiona looked at Katherine, who seemed deep in thought, and finally listened to Frank's advice. She quietly sat next to Teresa to take care of the child.
Bernard moved to sit next to Katherine, gently touching her head. "Soon, we'll be able to bring him back to you."
Katherine glanced at Bernard. "Now that Brent is here, things might not be so easy."
Bernard gave Katherine a warm smile. "No matter how difficult it is, I'll do everything I can to help you. Don't worry."
Katherine still planned to handle it herself but needed Bernard's assistance.
On the other side, Nora took Linda and ran out of the restaurant, hailing a cab to leave!
Brent was delayed by Sophia and couldn't catch up with Nora. He angrily scolded his subordinates for being useless and ordered them to search the entire city.
Nora didn't take Linda to a hotel because she knew that no matter which hotel they went to, Brent's people would quickly find them and bring them back.
This time, Nora wasn't throwing a tantrum; she genuinely wanted to calmly consider whether she should continue her relationship with Brent.
So, she called a friend abroad and borrowed an empty house from Janetrick to stay with Linda.
Fortunately, the house had a keypad lock, and they could enter directly with the password her friend provided.
Once inside, Nora sat on the couch with Linda, saying nothing.
Linda snuggled up to Nora. "Mom, I think you were awesome today! You finally stopped being so polite to Sophia. The way you responded to her left her completely stunned."
Nora looked at Linda and gently stroked her face. "Linda, I wronged you today and didn't get a chance to apologize. I'm sorry!"
Linda, being understanding, shook her head. "Mom, I'm not mad at you. I know you didn't mean it!"
The more understanding Linda was, the more it pained Nora. Such a sensible Linda could never compare to Sophia in Brent's eyes. He always thought Sophia was right!
"Linda, all these years, I've made you tolerate Sophia and suffer a lot. From now on, you don't have to tolerate anyone. Just be yourself."
Linda blinked. "So, Mom, are you really going to divorce Dad this time?"
Nora didn't answer, just sighed.
She had to admit she still loved Brent, but she didn't want Linda to suffer with her anymore!
Divorce would be good for Linda's mental and emotional well-being.
