Chapter 879 Charles Gets into a Fight at School
Jonathan, upon hearing this, shrugged, pulled out a chair, and sat opposite her, sighing to himself. "Katherine, I really don't know what to do with you!"
Katherine flipped through the menu and ordered her food, then casually handed it to him, "Go ahead and order. The sooner we finish eating, the sooner we can get back to the office. I have things to do this afternoon."
Jonathan took the menu, sighed again, added a few dishes, handed the menu to the waiter, and waved him away.
"Katherine, why are you so cautious about having a meal with me? You don't even want to go to a private room. It's not like we're booking a hotel room."
Katherine looked up from her phone and replied, "When a man and a woman are alone in a room, it can easily lead to misunderstandings. Since we're here to discuss business, let's eat in a public place to avoid any unnecessary trouble."
Jonathan crossed his arms, "Are you being so careful because you're afraid Alex might misunderstand?"
Katherine's typing hand paused for a moment, but she didn't say anything and continued typing.
She was sending a message to Alex, as usual, an encrypted message. Even if someone else saw it, it would just look like a weather forecast notification.
But Alex hadn't replied yet.
She was a bit worried about Alex's situation.
"Katherine? Katherine!" Jonathan reached over and knocked on the table in front of her, snapping her out of it.
"What?"
Seeing her distracted look, Jonathan frowned, "Katherine, I just said so much to you, and you didn't hear any of it?"
Katherine indeed hadn't heard and wasn't interested, but she still asked symbolically, "What did you say?"
Jonathan looked disappointed, waved his hand dismissively, and said, "Never mind, I can see you're not interested in listening to me. Go ahead and play with your phone!"
Katherine was just waiting for Alex's reply. Since there was no response for so long, it must have been inconvenient for him.
The waiter came to serve the dishes, and feeling hungry, she put her phone aside and picked up a fork to start eating.
Seeing her put down her phone, Jonathan felt a bit relieved, "Finally willing to put down your phone. I wonder who you're messaging that's so important!"
Katherine rolled her eyes at him, "Eat your food and stop talking so much nonsense!"
Jonathan chuckled, "It's boring to just eat without talking!"
"I think you're just not hungry; otherwise, you wouldn't have the energy to talk so much!"
Jonathan was quite happy, even if Katherine was annoyed with him or snapped at him, it was better than her not paying attention to him at all!
He picked up the tongs to serve Katherine some food, smiling and about to say something.
Katherine's phone suddenly rang, and Jonathan swallowed his words.
Hearing the phone ring, Katherine was also very concerned. She thought it was Alex replying to her message, but it turned out to be a call.
She picked up the phone and saw it was from Eris Thompson, the principal of her children's kindergarten.
Concerned about her child, Katherine's heart tightened, and she immediately answered, "Hello, sir, what's the matter?"
On the other end, Eris's voice sounded a bit anxious, "Ms. Galatea, please come to the kindergarten right away! Your son Charles has hit Elisha Fife, and his parents want to see you!"

Hanging up the phone, Katherine put down her fork and hurriedly left without explaining to Jonathan.
"Katherine, where are you going? What's wrong?" Jonathan knew something had happened and got up to chase her, but was stopped by the waiter to pay the bill. This delay caused him to lose sight of Katherine when he came out!
Kindergarten.
Katherine told the driver to get out and drove herself to the preschool, making the trip in just fifteen minutes.
She was extremely worried about Charles. Charles had always been the most obedient, sensible, and friendly child. How could he hit someone for no reason?
If it were George, she might believe it!
So she guessed that Charles must have been bullied and fought back.
She hurriedly found Charles's class, and the teacher said Charles was in Eris's office.
She quickly headed to Eris's office.
In the office, Charles stood alone in the corner, head down.
Eris was explaining and apologizing to Elisha's parents, Winford Fife and Electra Fife, who were quite upset.
"What is going on with your kindergarten? How are you supervising the children? How could you let other kids hit Elisha like this?"
"Exactly! We chose your kindergarten because of your educational standards. You're the best kindergarten in Janetrick. If you allow such things to happen, we won't let it go!"
Eris said apologetically, "I'm really sorry! He is usually very well-behaved. I don't know what happened today! We usually have several teachers watching them, but today the air conditioning malfunctioned, and the teachers went to check it, worried about the kids getting too hot, leaving Charles to watch them for less than five minutes.
