Chapter 187 Ms. Mitchell is So Charismatic
Scarlett's eyes reddened with grievance as she held back her tears. "Sorry, I know I shouldn't cry, but I'm really worried about Sunny."
Sunny immediately supported Scarlett's trembling shoulders with a heartache. "Scarlett, don't worry about me. I'll be fine! I can handle this on my own. Whatever Alex decides to do with me today, I'll accept it! You should go home now!"
Scarlett choked, "Sunny!"
Katherine laughed and said, "Miss Mitchell, I really have to admire your charisma!"
Sunny looked at Katherine in confusion. Why was she laughing?
Scarlett was stunned. Her glistening eyes also looked at Katherine, and she asked blankly, "Katherine, what do you mean?"
Katherine nodded and stated, "Yes, I admire you! First, your good friend went to great lengths to frame me for you but ended up in jail herself. Then, your precious brother smeared me online, spreading false rumors, and when you found out, you brought him here to apologize. Only you were unaware and innocent. To have people around you go to such lengths for you, Miss Mitchell, you must be a very good person!"
Katherine's words were layered with both praise and criticism.
Scarlett's eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she realized the prowess of this Katherine!
At first glance, Scarlett thought Katherine was just a pretty face, like a dumb beauty with no real skills and not a worthy opponent.
Now she realized she had misjudged.
This Katherine was not simple!
Scarlett blinked her innocent, deer-like eyes and softly said, "Katherine, you seem to misunderstand me. I really didn't know about those things."
Katherine ignored her, not even letting her finish before turning to the dining table. Seeing that the food was only for the men, she frowned and asked, "Where's my breakfast?"
Alex raised an eyebrow and looked at her. "Now you're hungry? Didn't you say you weren't hungry when I called you to get up?"
Katherine shrugged and spread her hands. "I wanted to keep sleeping, but you guys downstairs made so much noise that I decided to come down and eat breakfast before going back to sleep!"
As she spoke, Leander stepped forward with impeccable timing and respectfully pulled out a chair next to Mr. Melville.
Katherine naturally sat down.
Alex glanced at Katherine, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. "You said you weren't eating earlier, so the kitchen chief didn't make your portion. You'll have to wait."
"OK!" Katherine pouted, having no choice but to wait for her breakfast.
She wasn't hungry at all when she was still sleepy, but now that she was up, she felt her stomach was empty and uncomfortable. So she eyed the glass of milk by Alex's hand, reached out to take it, and was about to drink a sip to fill her stomach.
But his large hand intercepted hers, mercilessly taking the glass away.
Katherine was quite unhappy and asked, "Why? Can't I even have a sip?"
Alex said he liked her yesterday, but now he was so possessive of his food! What kind of liking was that?
Seeing her scrunched-up face, Alex knew Katherine was thinking negatively again. He lectured in a gentle tone, "You can't drink milk on an empty stomach. What if you get diarrhea?"
Katherine frowned and retorted, "Alex, why are you so naggy now!"
Alex glared at her and stated, "I'm only doing this for your health."
Katherine snorted coldly.
Watching their intimate interaction, her eyes darkened as she clenched her fists tightly, digging into her palms.
At this moment, Billy also felt that their presence was somewhat redundant. So, he took out the most crucial item and said, "Mr. Melville, this is from Mr. Mitchell for you. It's the phone of that blogger containing the unedited original video. We hope this can help Mrs. Melville dispel the false rumors online."
Hearing Billy's words, Alex gave a faint look.
Leander understood, stepped forward to take the phone from Billy, checked the contents, and confirmed what Billy said, then nodded to Mr. Melville.
Billy then asked, "So... Mr. Melville, how do you plan to deal with Sunny?"
Alex did not respond to Billy; instead, he looked at Katherine's face with deep eyes, raising an eyebrow slightly.
The man, who usually commanded every room he entered, now seemed to be seeking the girl's approval.
Katherine paused. Why was Alex looking at her? Was he asking her how to deal with this?
After thinking for a moment, Katherine glanced at Billy and then at the sad Sunny, lazily saying, "Leave him here. We'll take care of him. You can go now!"
Billy immediately felt uneasy about leaving Sunny here and protested. "Well, Sunny is still a child, could you..."
Before he could finish, Katherine knew what he meant and interrupted with a sneer, "You Mitchells are a joke! If you weren't serious about letting us handle this, you shouldn't have brought him here in the first place! Now that you've brought him here, stop being so indecisive! Don't just talk the talk without walking the walk! You made the mistake, so you need to deal with the consequences!"
Billy's face turned pale at Katherine's words, unable to refute.
He naturally thought Mr. Melville would let Sunny go for Scarlett's sake, and even if he punished him, it would be just a formality. Mr. Melville wouldn't really do anything to Sunny.
But this Mrs. Melville seemed hard to deal with and didn't play by the rules at all.
Sunny felt aggrieved but didn't want the Mitchell family to be looked down upon by Katherine.
He stood up straight, looking resigned, and said, "Billy, take Scarlett away! I'll stay, and whatever the consequences, I'll bear them myself!"
Whatever Katherine decided to do with him, he accepted it!
Billy hesitated, but in this situation, forcibly taking Sunny away would clearly mean falling out with the Melville family, which wouldn't end well.
He decided to go back and consult Bernard first!
So, Billy decided to leave. He turned to Scarlett. "Miss, let's go."
Scarlett looked at Billy without answering.
Her pitiful eyes then turned to Alex at the head of the table, but Alex didn't look at her, only focusing intently on the girl beside him.
Scarlett's eyes darkened, thinking for a moment before looking back at Billy and asking, "Billy, do you have to go to Bernard's company now?"
Billy nodded and then answered, "Yes, Miss Mitchell. After taking you home, I'll go to the company."
"Then you don't have to take a detour to drop me off," Scarlett said smoothly.
Then, she looked at Alex at the head of the table again. "Alex, can I catch a ride with you later? The Melville Group is on the way to my house, and you wouldn't mind giving me a ride, right?"
