Chapter 1009 It's Fate and Mutual Sincerity
"I heard from my mom that Adrian only told the family after he got the marriage certificate with you," Rachel said.
"We've been through a lot together; it's fate and mutual sincerity," Natalie replied.
Rachel lowered her curled eyelashes. "Is sincerity enough? I've been sincere, but the person I like still doesn't like me. Jamie would rather keep a mistress like Autumn than look at me."
Natalie said, "If he likes someone else, you should let go. Otherwise, you'll be the one who suffers."
Rachel bit her lip. "I've liked him for so many years. I can't let go."
In all of Vachilit, no one didn't envy Rachel, who was born into a wealthy family.
But Rachel had her own heartbreaks.
Life and fate would never satisfy everyone.
Rachel raised her glass. "Come on, let's have a drink."
They were drinking juice at the barbecue stand since Rachel had to drive and couldn't drink alcohol.
Natalie also raised her glass, and they clinked them together.
The cold juice went down smoothly, bringing a comfortable feeling. It was already late April, and the night carried a bit of warmth. Spring had arrived, and everything had a touch of warmth.
The barbecue joint was doing great business.
Even at this hour, waves of people kept coming.
The owner and his wife were busily and warmly attending to everyone.
There were no seats left. But people kept coming. Some customers, seeing no seats available, simply ordered takeout. The owner's wife warmly attended to them.
A few young men walked over in a group and stopped at the entrance of the barbecue joint, seemingly debating whether to eat there. The place was bustling with no seats available. The man in the middle lit a cigarette, his hair streaked with bright blue, and said, "Let's find a seat here."
The owner's wife came over. "Welcome."
The men were clearly regulars and knew the owner's wife, who had opened this barbecue joint near the club and naturally knew a bit about the scene. She had even watched a recent training match live. She smiled warmly, "Congratulations on winning the championship."
A slightly shorter man with blond hair laughed, "It's all thanks to Bobby."
Bobby smiled.
The owner's wife said, "Just wait a few more minutes; some customers are almost done eating. Once they leave, I'll give you the first available table. Go ahead and order now. Since you won today, I'll give you a 20% discount."
"Thanks, ma'am." Bobby exhaled a smoke ring and smiled, showing his white teeth. He squinted and looked at a table where two girls were sitting. One, wearing beige, had her back to him and was wearing a hat. The other was facing him. He recognized the strong scent of wild roses on her, a scent that seemed to linger in his soul. He said to the owner's wife, "There's my friend. I'll go join her table."
His friends from the team were a bit surprised. "Bobby, who? I don't recognize anyone here."
They watched as Bobby walked straight to a table and boldly sat down.
