Chapter 515 Receiving the Award
Natalie: [And then?]
Heather: [People are saying Adrian was supposed to marry Wendy, but he ditched her for his current fiancée.]
Natalie shot back: [That’s total BS.]
She never thought she'd be defending Adrian against rumors one day.
Heather: [I know, but the rumor mill in Hollywood is wild. They’re saying Wendy’s Adrian’s side chick. She hasn’t been on set for two months, and now they’re saying she’s pregnant. Wendy’s denied it a bunch of times. She’s got a lot of haters. Anytime she’s seen with some big shot, they say she’s hooking up with them. But really, the Lewis family’s loaded.]
The entertainment biz was a hot mess.
Anyone involved needed thick skin to survive.
Just then, Adrian rolled in.
His entrance caused a buzz.
People started whispering.
Adrian rocked a black suit, looking sharp and dashing.
He had that natural boss vibe.
He gave a slight nod and took his seat at the main table.
In the play of lights, Adrian’s chiseled features looked like they were crafted by the gods.
His eyes scanned the room, searching for someone, but came up empty.
A staffer told Natalie to get ready for her award.
According to the schedule, her award was two categories away, so about ten minutes.
Natalie got up and headed backstage to prep.
The winner of the two awards before her was Charlotte.
Charlotte had already changed into a new dress. It wasn’t as jaw-dropping as the last one, but it still showed off her figure. She glanced at Natalie, and Natalie didn’t shy away, checking her out too.
Charlotte stopped, looked at Natalie, and extended her hand. "Hey, I’m Charlotte."
Natalie shook her hand. "Natalie."
Charlotte asked, "Can I add you on Facebook?"
Natalie’s phone was with Heather. She glanced at Heather, who came over and handed her the phone. They added each other on Facebook.
Charlotte said, "You’re new at Dynamic Entertainment Media, right? We should chat sometime." Then she walked towards the stage to get her award.
Ten minutes later, Natalie walked towards the stage.
She snagged the Best Newcomer Award with two other female artists.
Natalie rocked a red dress, totally different from the white one she wore earlier. She was tall and slender, the red dress flowing like a rose, making her stand out from the other two newcomers.
Her eyes landed on Adrian in the crowd. She spotted him right away. She looked away, but he kept his eyes on her. He squinted slightly at the sight of her exposed skin.
Natalie’s hair was slightly curled. She reached out and gently combed it, lowering her eyes a bit. The host handed her the mic, and she said a few words of thanks and about her hard work, then walked off the stage.
As she stepped down, a butterfly fluttered around her and finally landed on her forehead. Natalie reached out, her movements gentle, her eyes smiling softly. She cupped the butterfly in her hand and gently released it.
The whole thing took only about ten seconds.
But it drew a bunch of amazed looks.
Natalie’s beauty was effortless.
The rose-colored dress was as stunning as a fairy tale, showing off her smooth back.
