Chapter 439 Cherish Yourself
In the conference room.
Samantha crossed her arms, and Tessa stood beside her, saying, "Sam, I was whipping up a fruit salad for you, so I asked Heather to grab you a black coffee. But she flat-out refused and even snapped at me. I mean, we're both here to help you out, right? I couldn't leave, so I asked Heather. But she just gave me this nasty look."
"Lydia, you hearin' this?" Samantha said, looking at Lydia. "I can't deal with an agent like Heather who won't even fetch a cup of coffee."
Heather clenched her fists. It wasn't just about the coffee.
Tessa had spilled jam on her, and she had to hit the restroom to clean up. Now, one corner of her coat was still wet.
Her coat was black, so it was hard to tell just by looking.
She was Samantha's agent, there to serve her. She'd made detailed plans for Sam's future, including business deals, and even turned down an ad for her sake. But then Sam went behind her back to Lydia to take the ad and blamed her for stopping her from making money.
Sam didn't get that the ad brand was shady and that she shouldn't mess up her image so early in her career.
Sam was short-sighted, arrogant, and used her connections to tick off industry pros.
Heather had to make calls to smooth things over. Sam was late for an interview by half an hour with a second-tier mag, and the editor-in-chief was livid. Heather had to meet the editor for drinks and apologize to squash the negative press about Sam's arrogance.
She'd always acted in Sam's best interest, but Sam never appreciated it.
Heather took a deep breath.
Lydia looked at Heather. "Heather, is that true?"
Before joining Dynamic Entertainment Media, Heather had been an assistant to a famous actress for a year, then worked as an agent at a small entertainment company for two years. She met Lydia at a dinner party, and at that time, Lydia's position at Dynamic Entertainment Media wasn't very high.
Dynamic Entertainment Media had just signed a bunch of new talents from colleges and needed agents.
Through Lydia's intro, Heather joined Dynamic Entertainment Media.
She first worked as an executive agent for a male artist for six months before being assigned to Samantha.
Sam was a newcomer heavily backed by the company. She debuted in an Esme show, which was highly anticipated, and her resources kept rolling in. Lydia was Sam's main agent.
Heather had thought she could work hard, gain experience, and manage her artists well. But she didn't expect her enthusiasm to be for nothing.
Sam not only didn't appreciate her efforts but also wanted to fire her.
Heather clenched her fists. "Lydia, I was gonna tell you something. I'm planning to quit."
Lydia was a bit surprised and kinda embarrassed.
After all, she had brought Heather into Dynamic Entertainment Media and assigned her to Sam, thinking it would be good for Heather since the company was heavily backing Sam. She never expected things to blow up like this.
Mindy spoke up, "Heather, have you signed with another company?"
Heather shook her head. "I don't think I'm cut out to be an agent." She was feeling a bit defeated.
Mindy said, "Heather, Dynamic Entertainment Media didn't just sign you because of Lydia's recommendation. You're attentive and considerate of your artists. But no artist and agent get along perfectly from day one. Heather, don't rush to quit. Think it over."
As she spoke, Mindy glanced at Samantha.
